I agree. It definitely takes time to get used to it. At the start your brain thinks it’s real. But the rest of your body will say it’s fake. After a while your brain will start to believe it’s fake and get used to it. What I think is cool is the fact that after months of vr. Your brain uses other senses for motion. Especially sound and visual. Conclusion, overtime you will get more comfortable and more immersed.
Beamng will be adding vr support again soon which has been announced, but there are applications you can buy to play beamng in vr which can cost up to 50 dollars
You are just fresh to vr and it does, in fact, get better (for most people at least) Brains are surprisingly good at adapting to things like this but it takes some time Excited to more vr videos, I bet something like carhunt would be a lot more thrilling with you physically looking around 👀
yes that is 100% true another thing that prolly made him sick was being new to vr and doing vertical movement, my first time moving up and down in vr I almost fell over lol
Yeah. Everyone's different. But the brain is amazing in how fast it adapts. Although I never had any sickness when playing VR for the first time. But as I said, everyone's different. I know a lot of people get vertigo in VR. While can just lob myself off cliffs without any problems. Same with doing aerobatics in flight sims.
I really hope BeamNG will have an official VR support with actual stereoscopic view. Automobilista 2 and Assetto Corsa are absolutely insane in VR, using the actual car instruments and mirror and being able to watch around you is a game changer in SimRacing.
BeamNG 0.30 now have official VR support. Right now in test build you need to use Vulcan, and it tends to crash a lot. But when it is done, it will be full VR support.. Not 100% sure that is has 6DOF now, or if it is going to. But i guess it will since it would otherwise be giving players a bad motion sickness. 6DOF = 6 degrees of freedom. Moving back - forward - sides | Rotate up, down - side to side - left, right.
6:38 i would say yes. in the beginning i had some really weak vr legs, but now i can play almost anything so long as the framerate is good enough, if it reprojects, or lags the experience gets horrible quick.
I’ve heard that if you get sick its better to stop instead of stay in vr till the sickness is gone. Because some people will like give a signal to their brain, and with that signal the brain is going to think ohhh everytime i play vr imma be sick. For me this helped so start with easier games and if you get sick stop playing and take a short break.
the vr support on beamng was removed very early, as it was causing problems, so no vr on beamng.(edit, the more you use vr, the less you feel montion sickness, so its normal when you use the vr for the first time)
Better performance and higher quality head-tracking helps with reducing the chances of motion-sickness. But many people can adjust over time (it varies how long from person to person). Usually the advice is to not push too hard in the beginning, don't get your brain used to associating getting sick with wearing the headset; start with shorter sessions, take breaks, not too much each day. Though a few people have said that they got over it by pushing thru instead of easing in; so different approaches may work better with different people. And there are probably many other useful tips out there.
You definitely get used to it. When I first started VR, anything with "smooth movement" or any vehicle made me ungodly sick but after playing for like 1-2hrs per day for about a week and the motion sickness was completely gone and has never come back.
Welcome to the VR community! It gets better over time, you can experience: - motion sickness (dizziness and puke lul) - dissociative disorder (sometimes in real life your arms or other limbs may not feel yours) I have only experienced the last one on my arms really lightly for a hour or two, then nothing else. It depends if your brain and body accept and adapt to vr easily, in my case it did. But don’t worry, after a while you get used to vr and it all goes away (idk for the motion sickness, if that’s something that persists on those who naturally have it even on 2D content)
Generally if you get motion sick in vr it's due to the refresh rate. Higher refresh rate screens in the headset generally means it is less likely to experience motion sickness.
I agree with the link cable instead of airlink(i had the quest cable but it sucks cos it keeps disconnecting) so i used air link, but holy crap, i looked at my monitor, the game was very smooth, but when i put the headset back on, it was like 360p 30fps cos the connection is ass
I have a quest 2 and if u have a decent pc i really recommend it, got the headset for 400 (600 with strap and cable) a second-hand g920 steering wheel for 150 and 4 euro for asseto corsa, best money i ever spend for how much fun i get from it!
@@denycrafty6498 Any good VR racegames for ps5? for racing it doesnt really matter if there is a cable cuz u sit stil anyway, but for games where u stand and walk i recommend wireless cuz the cable wil ruin the immersion.
When I started playing in VR I did a couple of 10 minute sessions a day until I got comfortable enough for a 3-4 hours at a time now! Patience and it'll get better. Drink plenty of water and make sure to take breaks!
The reason you get motion sick is because your brain is expecting the movement forces on your body like a real car. It’s calculating for the shifts in force and gravity when you turn and go up and down hills. The best way to solve this is to install a full motion sim rig to use with your headset.
I was messing with BeamNG in VR the other day using my G923. For a moment, it was no longer feeling like a simulation. Assetto Corsa was also as real as it gets when you play it in VR. I wish more racing games had a VR option.
Yo MuYe in the CSP VR settings for Asseto Corsa you can turn on hand tracking which uses your controllers for moving the hands. With that you can adjust your mirrors + because the controllers are pressure sensitive you can have your individual fingers moving. Atleast some. Anyways awsome video man!
Hey Muye! if you haven't already enabling 120hz refresh rate on the Quest 2 can drastically help reduce motion sickness. The good news is it does get better over time! I used to struggle with VR games but after building up a tolerance I can play for hours on end without any side effects
YES! not to long ago i bought vorpx (like $40 it was not cheap lol) and after a long pain of setup you can actually drive in real vr. Albeit pretty gpu intensive because i use normal settings to drive in vr on my 2060
Assetto Corsa has native vr support!!! it's like one of the few vr games my pc can run without any performance issues. Also Dirt Rally 1 and 2.0 both have VR support.
VR is great! Takes getting used to with motion sickness. If you get the chance, try play Euro Truck Simulator 2 in VR, that is a lot of fun, trying to park a trailer while sticking your head out the window
Hey man! U know if you pay around $20 for a mod the Assetto Corsa VR experience feels like another game! In the mod you can actually move your hands around, so bassically if u want to flip off another driver, just do the rude finger in irl, and then the game will show it!
