You doing TH-cam and working on the 40 is your job. Stopping because your family wants to use your lift and use your help just shows what kinda people yall are. The world would be a whole lotta better place if everybody was like that.

I'd have the faith to let you build a motor like this for me. I'd trust your process because you show more knowledge then a couple of the machine shops around here we all use. Hope you catch this, I had the same issue with those bearings. To tight clearance. On your next build, use King bearings on both rod and crank. Went in flawlessly on the last 3 builds we have done. I did enjoy the video, I know you want the motor in but I love seeing videos like these. When she is finished, just take us for a ride is all we ask.

Something about building and watching an engine get built is therapy to me. I’m waiting on my olds 350 block to be ready so I can assemble! Great video this week

Can’t wait to hear that 327 fire up and run. I never thought you could mix bearings to adjust clearances. That blew me away. You never stop impressing me with some of your old school methods. I know I’m older than you but I still see ways I never knew. 👍🏼

Ha! I have that same press!! I bought it thinking it would be a nice half hour warmup putting it together before I started the project I bought it for. Boy was I wrong. It's supposed to look like an H frame, but mine looked more like an A frame. All the holes were a tiny bit off, and the casters absolutely would not fit. So after six hours of machining, fabricating, swearing and tears, I got it put together. It turned out to be a nice little press. I feel like I was stuck on Gilligan's Island x2, without Mary Ann or Ginger. 😢

Even if your not into all this mechanicalizing stuff seeing what all makes an engine work is educational…just because you’d rather get greasy and turn a wrench than sit in an office and play golf don’t make you a bad guy! 😎
There should be a “National Auto Mechanic Day of Visibility!” 🏁⚙️🔧🧰

I sure would like to have my own tire changer myself Chad. I keep my eye out for an old one, air powered is just fine with me.. We have a farmer's market (a few of them really) in my area and it's been quite a few years since I've stopped into those.. there are a few old guys who have tools and things from closed down shops.. It really would make life SO much better to have one of my own.. I hate paying someone to do something I can do myself just need a tool to do it (well, and the space to put the machine)

When i started working at the tire shop back in 1978 , I used a hand manual tire machine when doing all the mag wheels . I did all the slicks that me and my buddies used street racing and damb sure used then on the Crager SS wheel that the old 4040 sa center cone machines would bresk the centers out of so it wouldn't hold the center caps on anymore . Harbor Freight has some and i had one thst worked great just needed the bead rings to help air up the tires with and they didn't carry them .
