No, Evil actually has orange skin and hair.
In Epic Mickey, using thinner instead of paint, killing bosses, and just generally being a dick (which is surprising given how protective Disney is of the their mascot character) causes blots of ink to slowly start seeping from Mickey’s skin. Using paint, sparing bosses, and helping people causes these blots to slowly disappear, eventually going away entirely.
Again, it’s surprising to see a morality system applied to a character who is most often innocent such as Mickey Mouse.
I mean, Disney probably realized even back then that they were a monopoly in the entertainment industry. And some worker probably decided It's a good idea to have a metaphor on how the spirit of Disney will fade away and be forever tainted if they do a lot of bad shit.
Or maybe I'm just looking too much into the meaning of a game based on a cartoon mouse.
Well, that is modern Mickey. OG Mickey, back in the black and white era, was a bit of a dick.
I mean he isn't exactly innocent in Kingdom Hearts either. Somewhere between anti hero and good guy in my book
Apparently, the original concept was to have either a “Hero”, “Wastelander” or “Scrapper” form depending on your choices... but of course Disney put the kibosh on the idea...
When Epic Mickey was in its prototype stage, Mickey was going to drastically change in appearance based on the choices he made.
Using Paint to redeem enemies, rebuild buildings and restore other objects, as well as making good choices, would've given Mickey a bold appearance with gold gloves and shoes, known as Hero Mickey.
However, using Thinner to erase characters, defeat enemies and eliminate pre-created objects, as well as making bad choices, would've given Mickey a hunched-over and thin appearance, his eyes and face twisted into an evil smile and the inhabitants' views of him would turn negative. This Mickey would be called Scrapper Mickey.
Eventually, this system was scrapped in favor of his normal, iconic appearance
Best side effect is in Jedi Academy where if you choose to turn to the dark side, your character's normally calm indifferent voice changes to sound like they are a Saturday morning cartoon villain who half yells their lines
Being evil in the fallout titles grant you the side effect of “wealth”
Fallout 3 handled morality the best imo. Especially since both sides of morality ended up with you being hunted.
Very accurate for Fallout 4, where the only real option for going evil is to join the Raiders in Nuka World, and if you're running Lone Wanderer instead of bothering with companions with crippled aim and the ability to break your stealth every time you try to sneak up on people, the consequences are practically nonexistent.
Fallout 2 had the best consequence for being evil. Killing a child gave you the perk "Child Killer", which means you had random encounters with bounty hunters and the like throughout the game world. There was also a little wanted poster of you up in every settlement.
Totally worth it to power sledge a child in the groin.
@@clothar23 I think the new Vegas moral rating was a lot better honestly. If only for the fact it had distinct morality rating for each group, and you'd be hunted depending upon which group you pissed off
@@lacytaylor1501 That's just it though, it wasn't morality. It was just a measure of popularity. Since I would argue pissing of the Legion wasn't an evil act, that the pleasing the NCR is at best a moral gray area, and the other minor factions were inconsequential at best and even somewhat evil at worse. Honestly the New Vegas's DLCs handled morality better , especially Dead Money and Lonesome Road , than the main game did.

In Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic & Star Wars The Sith Lords, going all the way dark affects your skin (and underwear too)
They totally whiffed on KOTOR.

Swtor does it in both directions dark side you get red eyes and dark side corruption in your skin and light side makes you age
Yes the change in much better in Kotor 2, in Kotor 1 you just get pale with grey eyes and a tight black and red jumpsuit when naked, horrible if your character is a dude...But heaven if she’s a she....
In Kotor 2, only about halfway down the DS track you reach the same point as Kotor 1, Grey skin and eyes, but I’m pretty sure the eyes turn more yellow
But regardless, the only character truly worth mentioning from that game as a DS character is a dark side Bao-Dur, dude turns into Darth Maul

You say Ellen's the hero but all of that Fable 3 capture came from the account on one 'London Rose'.
Mike has come back from death twice and broken out of jail, Ellen's a robot (her self-destruct button is with Luke), Andy is a sentient planet hell-bent on acquiring planet supremacy over Earth , and Jane is.... well, Jane. They're ALL villains.
Except Luke, I guess. He's nice.

No wonder my horn grew in MGS5 despite tranquilizing most of the enemies. I did beat up my own men A LOT but to be fair, I heard that it was supposed to improve their morale.
they also did want to train, so I obliged.

I have a list idea for you: "7 skills we never get to use!"
I'm talking about some amazing weapons/skills that we either see or hear about a character having, but we for some reason never get to play with it during gameplay... A few examples is Ratchets origami skills from Ratchet and Clank 2, and Jacks ability to kill heavy mechs in Mass Effect 2, as she is probably the WORST character for fighting mechs in the actual game!

Bastila Shan's Battle Meditation in Knights of the Old Republic 1. Supposedly it's a rare and awesomely powerful AOE Buff technique, but as a party member she can't do anything like that.
KotOR 2 makes it an actual learnable Force power, but it's nowhere near as powerful as Bastila's allegedly was.
Shadow of the Colossus is genuinely the most depressing game I've ever played

Well, can't say it was going evil so much as being the new vessel of that god's power. And it even keeps its word. The real problem was that it demanded your entire current life to achieve this and damnation for all your descendants. And maybe didn't actually spell out how bad this whole process would be for you personally. But hey, not like you would have listened anyway!

To be fair, a lot of Renegage options involve physical violence which could damage healing. Anger also weakens the immune system and affects hormones, causing migraines, high blood pressure, and reducing the number of antibodies produced. So while the worsening scars make sense, it's not gonna give you glowing eyes.
Still, it's also not possible to stick some scraps of human DNA into a microwave and reconstruct an entire person, complete with all their memories and skills so I'm not exactly demanding BioWare drop peer reviewed citations.
I was gonna say that Jane is having too much evil fun in Fable, then I saw it's Ellen's footage! That's some good bad influence!

What about KOTR 2? As your character falls further to the dark side, you become creepier looking like many other games. However unlike other games you can drag your party to the dark side with you and they also undergo the same transformation.
Plus it changes the colour of your underwear for some reason.

It's an old Star Wars game. Well beloved, I think, by most who've played it. Unfortunately, a lot of the concepts within it were retconned by Disney, and they now only remain in Star Wars: Legends.

The Phantom Pain one fucked me up cause I discovered another way to quicky earn demon points is killing critically wounded soldiers (the ones that will bleed out nonetheless). So picture this if you will. You are running around a base or an outpost trying to be all stealthy but you get caught. Next thing you know you are in a pitched gun fight. You can't always get the headshot or afford wasting the ammo making sure the enemy solider is dead by the time they hit the ground so you put just enough rounds in them to at least eliminate them as a threat. (yes I know you can pick non lethal weapons but if it's a big base and you got a lot of stuff to do it can be inconvient when the guy you just knocked out wakes up and you run into him again) Anyway the battle ends and you got a few enemy soliders lying on the ground bleeding out and it is clear they are in pain. You don't want them to suffer after all war is war and both sides were just doing their jobs so you walk up and put them out of their misery. Yup turns out me thinking im being merciful cutting their pain short was actually me being evil....so now when I am in the aftermath of a gun battle I just gotta hear all the enemies who didn't die right away moan and groan their way to death. And no I'm not gonna fulton extract them because that would be a costly expense (if I did it for all them) for soliders whose stats I don't always need. So ya thanks metal gear solid five.
Well, extracting a soldier costs 300 gmp, and side OPS give you at least 60,000. I think there’s a lot of money to spend.
Just tranq them so they can bleed out painlessly. Problem solved.
You can kick them to knock them out temporarily or place them in a dumpster and they won't bleed out.

What a way to start a video, I'm going to need to go take a lie down.
The Megaman one actually wasn't irreversible, it was just INCREDIBLY tedious to fix afterwards. I believe what you'd have to do was essentially go to the area where you could be in a game show, and do that over and over again, and that would eventually get you enough good boy points to lighten your armor (and the opinion of the NPCs you could hear behind closed doors) to acceptable levels.
Yes, you heard that right, you could literally get away with robbery by having good PR.

In KOTOR 2 if you had high influence with a companion, they start looking evil as well. I remember Bao-Dur started to look like Darth Maul.

Cerberus sounds less dangerous as a hellhound and as a paramilitary organization if you consider it probably translates to „Spotted“. Which means Cerberus‘ english name would be Spot.
That's why it's called that because of their spotted past.
It probably doesn't help that said paramilitary organisation's leader has an alias that can be abbreviated to T.I.M... Though it might explain the name choice.

I always appreciate interesting footage of characters being evil, because I just can never bring myself to play as a jerk, even when it looks like it would be fun. I mean, Commander Shepard is supposed to be a hero! Not a giant dick!

Actually Kaiden doesn't entirely mind Renegade actions as long as you can justify them in the context of the greater good. It's Ashley who outright will not tolerate a Renegade Shepherd.
The only time I did it was in the first Knights of the Old Republic game, where it kind of made sense to me after the plot twist to "return to my old ways" - and that game has one hell of a set of consequences. Didn't help that it oftentimes made you being evil less petty and more badass as hell.

In Mass Effect 2 Shepard being evil can be atributed at the reconstruction process going wrong, explaining why he went from hero to villain.

How can Infamous be on this list without mentioning that your morality affects your powers. Good Del has while smoke, evil Del has black, sparky smoke.
The biggest change is the video powers melee attacks, all the others have color changes, and also general changes to what their effects are, but using video powers lets you either use a heroic sword of justice, or badass claws of devastation.
What about Swtor. When you do bad things like murdering people and stuff, your charakter first gets Sith Eyes, and then his face gets dark. (Not a native english speaker)
I'm pretty sure in Infamous 1 and 2, being evil sees you getting gradually paler, like your blood is falling out or something, and you get big black cracks/veins all over your face.
Like Shadow of the Colossus apparently.
I'll tell you what the real side-effect of being evil is... Wealth! Success! and Power! ...also an unexplainable desire for large chairs.
Of course when you are such a massive *ass* you need a larger chair

Peter Molyneux loves a morality tracker almost as much as he loves over-promising and feature creep. On top of Fable there was also Black and White, where the appearance of your pet creature reflected your morality as well.
God I miss Black and White...
The temple becoming either a bastion of light and rainbows or a demonic spire of pure evil was fun as well

You say the side effect for being evil in Shadow of the Colossus is becoming "pale and veiny".
Like, honey, you turn "evil" no matter what you do in this game and you literally showed that the *real* side effect was being possessed by basically the demonic embodiment of the afterlife and then having your age regressed until you became the "horned child"

Arthus from Warcraft 3 would of been good for this list. From golden haired Hero to undead Lich King. Heck, even before he went undead he looked like an aging rockstar in his first week of rehab.
My Shepard always has a sexy cheek scar and a slight glimmer of questionable decisions in their eyes.
The eternal struggle- i can't bring myself to be a jerk in videogames, but all the coolest outfits and looks are only available if you play as one.

But in shadow of the colossus it wasn't a player choice. Having never played the game I had hoped there was a way to spare them.
That IS how you spare them -- by never playing the game.

That doesn't bother me; it's games like _Spec Ops: The Line_ that are real jerks about it, since in that case the game explicitly tries to call out the player for daring to play the game they paid for.

Sadly a lot of people didn't see Godzilla: King of the Monsters, partly due to weird marketing and partly to moving it to the same month as Avengers: Endgame came out. Here's hoping for Godzilla vs Kong will be good and not too delayed again.
I was one of those who DID see it, mainly because I - controversial opinion, here - don't think the Marvel films are any good, and pretty much only really wanted to see G:KOTM and the DC Comics version of Captain Marvel that month.
@@sgtraytango Well the MCU films are no good. Like, most are fun, but they lack any depth or meaning. The DC film universe is doomed if they're taking the MCU as the highest standard. I mean, they should take pointers for the connected universe bit, but when it comes to actual film making, films like Sam Raimi's Spider-man trilogy, Chris Nolan's Dark Night trilogy, and Tim Burton's Batman films come to mind.
Yeah, I really couldn’t have cared less about Endgame. Godzilla was what I was excited about. Honestly, I can only get that excited about Godzilla and Jurassic Park these days. They’re the only ones that can give me that “I *NEED* to see this in theaters!” feeling.

Jane happily narrating the "this is what you look like on evil" list just feels RIGHT, ya know? XD And yes, the demonic wings in Fable 3 are hardly a DETERRENT from awful acts -- unless good characters get equally-impressive wings? ...I may just want wings.
Surprisingly, the game Overlord had some sort of a karma system. Quite odd for a game where you play as a villain by default, but I recall the Overlord's armor changing based on... whether you are only somewhat evil vs. completely evil?
There's also Secret World Legends in which you can pick a side during a few plot points and you'll get appropriatelly colored wings at some point in the late game. It's been a long time since I played the game, so I don't remember any more details than this.
Now I just want to see a game where Good Karma gets you sweet tattoos and glowing eyes, and Evil Karma gradually turns you into more and more of an Expensive-Suit-Wearing-Dude.

Honestly, while I understand the karma system in MGS5, I really kinda wish that being Demon Snake gave you actual benefits, like enemy soldiers just running away in terror the moment they spot you. Or at the very least act like you're just a hallucination and try to clear their vision for a moment, giving you time to get out of sight before they see you're actually real and open fire

I liked the scars in ME2 and I kind of wish that my paragon Shepard could have had them. I just like the idea of walking around looking like a heavily armed murder-cyborg while being kind to everybody I meet.
The previous inFAMOUS game has a similar mechanic with hero Cole (and the first one does as well, but in a *really* minor way). In inFAMOUS 2, Cole's shirt turns more yellow as he becomes more good, and red as he becomes more bad. He also gets more ashen in physical appearance, has some Shepard-esque facial scars, and most fascinatingly of all, he gets new and more sinister looking tattoos on his arms.
