    About to dig into this on a Hisun I just got. Previous owner claims this was redone recently, but I've found a significant oil leak, and few bolts, and what looks like that wet clutch nut just sitting in the pan under the motor, so I'm worried they did him dirty and did a bad job.
    This video will be queued up while I work. You're a true professional for putting this online for us.

    • @kauboy9816

      First effort done. The disassembly was way more exploratory than diagnosis, but I did discover that the oil seal on the wet clutch drum was installed at an angle. Ordered a new one, and it is now sealed. That was where all my oil was coming from. Once oil seal was redone and wet clutch housing was closed back up, I did a full oil/filter change. Learned that there are some particulars with getting the right filter. Don't trust online oil filter alternative listings. My local O'Reilly had a WIX replacement that was a bit longer but fit well with no leaks.
      However, after reassembly, I had a different issue. The High and Reverse gear settings work just fine, but the clutches will not engage in Low.
      When I had the primary clutch off, I noticed that the sliding pressure plate would not consistently slide in to a fully seated position. That told me that the primary clutch side could never fully open to allow the belt into the lowest rotation. I also have realized that there are no teeth left on that pressure plate to engage the shaft splines.
      Looks like I'll be ordering another primary clutch, and following the advice here on greasing it.
      I assume you've had feedback since doing this job, and that amount of grease was proper? The Yamaha boards discuss this clutch, and lots of them run much lower amounts of grease.
      Also, what substitute should I look for in place of the now discontinued Yamaha ultramatic grease? Some online shops still have it, but is there a more prevalent alternative?
      Thanks again for this video. It's helped a ton!

      I had no idea that they discontinued the grease. There is an update for that clutch that doesn't use grease. Shot me an email at Limitlesspowersports78@gmail.com & I'll send you the updated instructions. Ypu cN run it with are with out grease but you have to take the retaining ring off.

    I think that was me that was telling you about the clutches.
    Yeah so the 500 is basically a 660 bottom end with I believe a yamaha 400 or 450 top end so it’s for sure a unique engine in that respect kind of cool actually because it still has the big stroke of the 660s and 700s but yet with a smaller bore and a two valve head which typically gives lots of low-end torque.
    Here’s what I think happened with some of the models coming with greaseless clutches because some of them actually do.
    There’s two companies that make aftermarket clutch parts and machining for these clutches Hunterworks is one of the companies and JBS is the other one. And they hate each other lol but they’re both pretty good companies however Hunter works came up with the greaseless system which some people swear by but many others say the grease is better.
    They have what they call greaseless rollers and what lots of people do is they use the greaseless rollers with grease for the ultimate durability.
    Lots of people complain about not enough low-end torque so when you have that wet clutch all apart It’s a good idea to install a slug kit which really helps the life of the wet clutch shoes Plus just overall less slip and also you can put the shims in between the clutches for more low and gearing.

      I have actually been doing some research on the exact things you were just talking about. I haven't had the chance to try to play with the clutches on these that much yet but I have done it on the Odes with the CVtech clutches & had made a world of difference on those machines

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really have never tried due to the fact that the holes are so deep you would have to get a rivnut so long & hope it doesn't break the plastic as to tighten the rivnut.

  • @tag8617
    @tag8617 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got all of the cover bolts out without stripping, but now I can’t get the plastic lid up out of the way. The seat and metal hose is in the way. I’ve twisted and turned it every which way to where it even got stuck. I can’t clear it, and if I can’t clear it I can’t get to the rest of it. It’s a lot easier when the motor isn’t in the machine.

      Hey Vinny it definitely sounds like you might install the one way bearing backwards. When you put the one-way bearing on did you have the numbers facing towards you and into the wet clutch drum? Because what you're describing is exactly what happens when you put the one way bearing in backwards on the wet clutch

    Just getting a Massimo MSU 500 from my uncle and it is almost impossible to shift transmission. When I was trying to help him repair it before we found he'd been running it without enough oil in and so wet clutch is probably fried. Any other reasons it would be hard to shift into and out of drive etc?

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's at to high if an idle it will make the primary clutch stay engaged a little causing the secondary clutch to spin putting a bind on the transmission. Then the unit it in neutral & running the secondary clutch should be sitting almost absolutely still.

So when I get to the hotel & get internet I'll try to send it to you . Idle you want around 1,200-1,400 rpm. The lower end of the idle range the better. Since ypu will be checking it all out you should just clean it & pit a new belt on it.

    Thank you so much for your videos
    I recently got a hisun sector 750
    It was driving fine and now won't go into any gear.
    Talked to previous owner they had the same symptoms and just had wet drum replaced. Less then 5 hours on it since it was done. Unfortunately they are 5 hours away to take it back to the shop...
    So i have gotten to removing the cvt cover and quick inspection it of primary and secondary looks good
    Is the primary supposed to spin by hand easily in both directions?

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No the primary should only spin on direction freely. It should lock in the other direction. It should spin counter clockwise & lock clockwise. Now if the idle is above 1,400 rpm it won't shift into gear freely. Does it shift into gear when the unit is shut off?

      If the foot brake switch is working, it should start in gear with your foot on the brake. So even when the motor is turned off it won't shift out of gear? If it only does it when it's running you're either having an issue with the idle to high, primary clutch isn't sitting still at idle , are your wet clutch it's bad are the one way bearing is bad are installed the wrong direction

    • @lukeessex7055
      @lukeessex7055 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394 Thank you so much for your help
      The gear selector and linkage will move whether it is running or not. However, the utv won't move
      I haven't tried running ut without the cvt cover yet since I had to disconnect the battery to get to the cover..
      The foot brake switch was way out of adjustment when I got it that you could barely put it in reverse without putting extreme pressure on the brakes
      Also most likely unrelated to any of these issues, it starts really slow as if a dead battery.. battery tests fine . After another if your videos I believe it might be starter relay. Still need to test it.

      Hey Daniel. I'm going to answer you back here a little bit because any comments and likes and subs help out my TH-cam channel in the TH-cam algorithm to share my videos more. But I can also answer you in the email you sent me. As you can see from my clutch video the clutches are not very complex on these units. You may need to pull your primary clutch off and clean it all up and regrease it but there also has been an update to where if you're having clutch issues you will clean all the grease out and take the outer ring off and leave it off when you put it back together. My other question to you do you feel any kicking or bucking when you go to take off if so you may have premature belt wear which causes the squeaking sound you might be hearing which is the clutches slipping on the belt do you smell any burning rubber also?

    • @1dt1971

      @@limitlesspowersportsservic3394, First.....THANKS for your response and your help. Really appreciate your knowledge sharing. When you talk about leaving off the outer ring, are you referring to the O-ring on the primary clutch cover ? I re-watched the video and that is the only "ring" I see on the primary clutch. I have that old Bennche Bighorn 700x - i got it home and changed the plug (it was really fouled), changed the coolant and flushed the radiator and put a new battery in. I ran it around the acreage and it ran good, I went up a pretty decent hill and the clutch sounded like it was slipping gears. I figured a belt issue? But here’s my real question- after running it good and warm I pulled it back into the driveway and after taking my foot completely off the gas coming to a stop in high gear it sputters to a halt and acts like it’s flooded. It seems like it doesn’t want to warm/hot idle. Any ideas what would cause that? I also changed the gas out and put in 93 octane with some sea foam at 2oz gallon

      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey armyvet7070. Thanks for checking out my video. It's a really good possibility that your IAC motor isn't working properly & not getting to the proper steps it needs after it get warm. Also check your intake track to make sure it's all clean & the map sensor is clean. Also valve clearances can play a factor on startup & after the unit is warm.
