If he wanted to destroy the Grand Line, or Red Line, that would raise a lot of questions rather than getting that response. Chief among those questions would be "how do you plan to do that without killing a LOT of people?" Just because destroying the Grand Line can be seen as impossible, doesn't mean that that's his goal because his dream is also seemingly impossible. It could just as easily be "I wanna throw a party for the whole world at once" or something else that would seem crazy and impossible.
