    Take the cargo capacity and subtract it from the GVWR and that will give you the dry weight of the camper.

    if it were me I'd open the camper 7 pin and make sure all the wires are tight, and buy a can of contact spray cleaner to hve in the tool box, open that connector before gooping it up with the electric grease,

    • @christopherjohnpaul5591
      @christopherjohnpaul5591 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t use contact cleaner. Some chemicals they use can break down the plastic and it’ll break apart. I’m speaking from experience, not just guessing!

    Just got the F150 PB last week and tow an RV. Moving from Echo Bluetooth Brake Controller on my previous tow vehicle to integrated with the F150. It was easy to see the brakes working on the Echo via app on my phone. How do you know the brakes are not working? I can bring up the Towing Status and when I press the brake, I see the gain indicator bar move and assumed that was validating brakes working. Just making sure I'm not missing something.

    What’s the hitch weight of the trailer? What’s the cargo capacity of the the Powerboost. That’s looks like a lot of trailer for the f150.

    • @notallwhowanderarelost2024
      @notallwhowanderarelost2024  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi John, the tongue weight is probably around 800-900lbs. It is a lot of trailer just from the physical size alone. It's like driving a sailboat down the road. The ProPride Hitch makes a world of difference.

    I have the same problem with the brake controller on my 2015 F150. A number of forum discussions on this topic. Based on information from one of the forums I am going to add a load resistor to the trailer brake wiring. Apparently it helps the Ford TBC pick up to signal better.

    • @notallwhowanderarelost2024
      @notallwhowanderarelost2024  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Rodney, I am going to clean the contacts, and make sure they are tight enough. If that doesn't work I may try the resistor option.

    It’s those connectors they use on your wiring to the brakes. I never had brakes until I took all the connectors they used off and soldered all the wires together, then put dielectric grease on it and wrapped with water tight sealant and zip tied up. Got good braking at 5.5 gain.

    What trim level and how close were you on payload capacity? I’ve been looking at platinum f150 powerboost models and the payload is only 1300 pounds. I would have to bring my family in a separate car…

    • @notallwhowanderarelost2024
      @notallwhowanderarelost2024  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have an XLT Powerboost with 6.5' bed. Our payload is 1613, the tongue weight of our RV is no more than 900lbs, so that leaves us 713 pounds for people and bed space. So I try to go easy on payload, but really I feel comfortable where we are at especially with the propride hitch.

    • @gregoryrobinson4027

      I have the king ranch powerboost and that’s the problem I’m running into. With my camper loaded even though I don’t bring anything more than clothes for work and my tanks being drained. If I have a full tank of gas and I get in the truck the onboard scale says I’m over payload limit. When I get out the truck it goes back to green. The only thing I can think of is to get airbags and just barley load them up. My truck still sits perfectly level with WD hitch.

    When you mentioned “I have more torque for being hybrid” you wrong about it, the electric system in towing mode don’t work is deactivated, so basically you have the same torque as a regular 3.5 power boost but with the extra weight of the battery and generator.

      Hi Oscar, the F150 Hybrid has the electric motor integrated in the transmission, so even when it is not in electric only mode the electric motor is working in tandem with the ICE.

    • @davidalford7165
