@@DegenerateJay I think the main thing with that map is that it's an 'endless' map that you can actually *beat.* It's the same structure as Iceburg Lounge, really, but if you're good enough there's that stop point.
I feel like the Arkham Knight version of the Iceberg Lounge is by far the best challenge map. When Killer Croc jumps in and Nightwing joins you once you get an insanely high score, it’s just so satisfying.
What I never realized about crime alley is that when you’re playing in it, you are also technically playing in Arkham city. You don’t get to see the rest of it, but crime alley was of course found in Arkham city, meaning you are technically back in the super prison. It’s the small things.
5. Iceberg Lounge (City/Knight) 4. Crime Alley (Asylum/Knight) 3. Prison Riot (City) - I mainly just love how you can climb up the little ledge on the far side of the ring and bait the enemies. 2. Totally Insane (Asylum) - It's tough but it allows you to experiment with many of the Arkham-exclusive gameplay mechanics like throwing enemies through glass or electric fences. So fun. 1. Funhouse Brawl (City) - Love the variety of enemies and size of the arena.
One thing you can’t deny is that these challenge maps have actually quite creative and intimidating titles; Clockwork, Endless Knight, Boy Wonder. They sound like individual story titles which adds to the cinematic quality of these games.
Joker's Carnival is mine, I spent hours among hours in that map after I finished the game for the first time, I used that map to master the combat. I even played it with friends and we challenged each other to beat each other's score, good times.
Quite a few of the maps released as dlc in Arkham City is based on the series of web comics known as Arkham Unhinged. One of the stories it tells is about Hugo Strange activating "Protocol 9" during the main story, which is an assault on Wayne Manor. In the comics, Nightwing and Robin fight off Tyger in Wayne manor. I recommend reading the series, but if you do keep in mind that most of the stories told in the comics are automatically non-canonical because they take place DURING the events of Arkham City.
Totally Insane from Arkham Asylum is the only combat map to have the Arkham lunatics, not only that but also the only time in the whole game where you fight the lunatics alongside the Blackgate prisoners. Think one of my favorite combat maps was Scarecrow Nightmare from Arkham Asylum, it is an endless combat map but with one twist, you can't take a single hit or you are dead. I know there is one challenge like that in Arkham Knight where you play as Azrael, but I like how you kind of fight waves of "skeletons" and it just gets tougher for each wave, with more Titan brutes coming in and thugs coming in with guns, really gets intense when going for a high score.
Great list! I remember really liking the Museum combat map in City and I liked the rooftop one in Origins. I'm biased to the Origins combat maps as they were the 1st maps I was able to reach 100-combo!
I remember playing 100 to 1 before I started the story, as Deathstroke nonetheless... At least I beat it with 3 starts when I actually knew the flow of the game afterwards lol
Manor armory is the best combat map. It makes me think that the identity of Batman is revealed to tiger and they are sent there to kill him. Its even better with the dark knight returns skin.
I have some fun facts for two of the maps you picked: 1. the wayne manor challenge maps are really about nightwing trying to defend the manor from TYGER goons, since both batman & robin are in arkham city. that's also why the maps came with nightwing when the game first released. 2. in the jokers carnaval map, joker doesn't actully begin fighting you when you hit 100 combos, he comes out at 101. which i belive is a reference to a line from the story: Joker:"it looks like i need to teach you some respect" batman: "there's nothing you coued teatch me" Joker:"oh come on, there's always something to learn. let's start with getting your ass kicked 101".
The very last predator campaign in Arkham city KILLED me. It was the first time in all of that games challenge mode I actually had to plan out a strategy beforehand and have a plan of which modifiers I would use on each map and oh it was just so sad.
I haven't really played around with combat maps in Origins and Knight so my favorites are the City ones with top spots going to Iceberg Lounge and Survival of the Fittest, the only one I don't like from City is probably the ninja one (Hell's Gate or something like that).
On the Joker’s Carnival map, it’s weird that there’s a skeleton under Joker’s skin considering the fact that in the main story, that was Clayface and not Joker
I hate that you need to get 1 million points to fight croc in the Knight version of the Iceberg Lounge map. It's really frustrating having your combo drop because batman targets the wrong enemy.
So you like the AC version of Penguin's Lounge BUT have you actually gotten a high enough combo in Knight to fight Croc? I still haven't gotten it, that combo is so fucking high for the difficulty of that map.
I really wish there was a challenge map featuring each villain. Like bro, just inagine being able to fight against Red Hood in actual comat instead of just Predator, ir Deathstroke in a map that can be either predator or combat depending on if you get spotted, or even a batmobile race against freaking Gearhead!! Who i dont think is ever even mentioned in this series.
@@2fast4u23 I love how AK combat is very fluid, but I hate the aim so bad that it makes me angry everytime. Wish I knew how they blew up this bad when AK has the most "unhittable" enemies in the series.
@@meurer13daniel Really? I haven't really had a problem with that, a few times there's very obviously a thug I could hit and Bats just kinda punches the air, it's a little frustrating but very rare in my experience, but tbf Knight's the game I play the most so maybe I'm just used to it, but Batman does go to great lengths to hit someone unreasonably far away, like literally, how does he do it? lol
I think my favorite combat map would have to be feline frenzyBatman Arkham Knight, and that may be partly because of my score on that game, as Harley Quinn my score is like 500,000 which is my highest score ever on a combat map
I have more of a problem with the predator ones that make you do very specific things honestly. What also trips me up is when I switch between entries in Arkham and the timing is different.
Degenerate Jay although i dont have arkham knight ive played a bit of it at my friends and the way the controls slightly changed from city were a bit jarring at first and can still be when im remembering how city works
How did you not include intensive treatment the one that started it all or survival of the fittest in arkham city that’s the one in the gladiator pit with the iconic theme.
One question, could you give us a link or something that lets me hear the voicemail? I can’t find it anywhere on TH-cam and I don’t feel like playing it to find out. Sorry for the trouble if you even see this
Hells gate map is awful, crime alley is average I would say dem bones, that one with infinite thugs in AA, blind justice, black mask one or iceberg lounge Only one I would say from knight is the co op one between batman and nightwing
I actually really loved the one in Origins where you play as Bruce Wayne training
I thought that was a campaign
@@_q_4676 you could do the maps separate
What's the map name?
YESSSS! it was a dlc if i remember correctly. And if you lost the death screen was like "go back to your hotdogs american." Lol
Honestly my favorite is the 100 man brawl from origins, i felt so badass doing it. Like “Yeah i just fought 100 men with my bare fists”.
I need to go back and replay that one now because a lot of people were saying they really enjoyed it.
Degenerate Jay oh thanks for the reply. I would also add that the map was kinda hard for me so it forced me to really «get good» at the game.

I really liked the Iceburg lounge from Arkham Knight
Totally Insane is such a fun challenge...but my personal favorite is Survival of the Fittest
The Joker's Carnival from Arkham City and Crime Alley from Arkham Knight are actually my most favorite Combat Challenge Maps.
I think that the Knight Iceberg lounge is better because of the Croc fight.
Idk why #2 is so satisfying

The scarecrow dlc map in arkham asylum was 👌
Kite man, HELL YEAH!

Azraels Atonement - Arkham Knight
That first challenge map in Asylum was so nostalgic for me but it's not the best
I would have went with arkham asylums crime alley am I the only one who thought that one was dope?
Origins: 100 vs 1
Asylum: Rumble in The Jungle
City: Rooftop Rumble
Knight: Iceburg Lounge VIP
Is no one gonna talk about Shock and Awe from Arkham Asylum?
That's trash my guy
Wasn’t the Wayne Armory part of the Nightwing DLC? Surprised y’all didn’t mention him when going over that map
My favorite is the Iceberg Lounge in city. How does croc smoke that cigar? What with all those tooths and such.
Mine is The Iceberg Lounge because it was the first map that I actually got three stars on for all the characters in Arkham Knight
The third one is actually my favorite one especially when you play as robin because of what joker says
Wayne Manor and batcave are the best maps that are like combat and predator
Only reason why I like iceburg lounge is the killer crock easter egg
The electric elevator in Asylum.
I think Arkham Knight had the best maps just because of how perfect the combat was in that game
