@@Flopamine Now that I think about it, has anyone appeared in this game who is mentally and morally healthy? Because until now everyone sucks, the protagonists simply seem the most hardcore to us for canivalism and incest lmao The world literally sounds like it encourages you to commit suicide just to laugh at you XDXDXD
@@Aural4444 Nina and Julia don't seem to be bad people, all they did was having a crush on Andrew then one died and one got bullied to almost yeet herself. But since everything about them was shown through Ashley and Andrew's flasback or nightmare, we can't tell if Nina and Julia have their own dark sides yet, fans are hoping that Julia will show up in chapter 3 but oh boi, there will be outrage if Julia turns out be to one of the few saints in their world then got killed somehow by the Graves offsprings, i can already imagine Andrew and Ashley somehow encounter Julia cuz in chapter 1, they killed the people who kept them in the coffin, in chapter 2, they killed the people who gave birth to them, now it won't be a surprise if they go after their old friends and foes. Besides those few friends that Andrew and Ashley used to have, the cultists are quite chill too, except for the cultist neighbor in chapter 1 cuz that guy wanted someone dead.
@@Flopamine The only bad thing I saw about Nina and Julia was that they basically only became "friends" with Ashley to date Andrew, which sucks but doesn't justify murder or harassment lmao. And I don't think they will go after Julia in the future, since the only reason they went after the parents was their money and the possibility that the parents would expose them in the future to police or who hired the hit-man, revenge is a tertiary dish for our sinful sibilings XD The only reason I can think for them to kill Julia is if Andrew felt like meeting her again (which we saw in the dream isn´t the case) since it would activate Ashley's jealousy and she would do a "her or me" situation again, another would be that Julia met them by chance on the street and greeted them, which would be a mix of "she would rat us out to the police" and Ashley's jealousy. But I could be wrong, we'll see
The contrast of Andrew in decay being just completely done with Ashley and actually becoming scarier and more dominant then her vs him becoming more like a confidant and them goofing around while disposing of bodies and him rejecting Andy nickname more playfully or less hostile in Burial route. Altrough if you ask me one of them or both is always in denial depending on a route. Because he's Andy again, a new improved and rebooted (because tv show joke) version of Andy. The only thing is this Andy either the greatest threat to LeyLey or her new chance at her show revival unless she screws it all again.
This is very on point yes. It's interesting how Andrew will turn to be determine a huge chunk of the story. I hope there's going to be the an arc for Ashley just to put a bit more of balancing act on how she's been from the start.
Interesting how Andrew and Ashley has better relationship in Burial because Ashley is less manipulative and Andrew decides to embrace his sociopathy. The most wholesome part is in the most questionable route. Love this game for being so twisted lol.
he is most definitely NOT sociopathic. he shows distress about resorting to killing the neighbor and attacking his parents, and is extremely flustered after the vision the talisman gave him. he cares for ashley and its for that reason that he sticks around. (plus her manipulation) but point is he very much has at least some regard from other people. Judging from his mother’s dialogue, he was even more so before ashley manipulated him into being increasingly numb to the killing.
@@rabies6418 Let's agree to disagree. Imo, it's hard to see Andrew as somewhat sane since he regrets not giving the warden a slower death in his nightmare and completely okay with sacrificing someone who never harms him for unknown demon. He was the one to suggest killing their neighbour before Ashley shoots his idea down. Ashley is manipulative but Andrew does have his own agency.
@@rabies6418 For me it seems more like a facade, his actual worries are actually messed up and I doubt it's completely on Ashley, despite her constant manipulation on him. After all, he's genuinely happy in the burial endings and it's just weird that he gets more flustered and shows more emotions when her Mom inquires about him fucking Ashley and after his dream, than the whole ordeal with eating people and killing his parents or random people (and demons). He's probably more scared of being more similar to Ashley than he wants to think, and tries to deny it because it goes against his imposed moral compass. This ends with him accepting the way that Andrew and Ashley are or keep denying and hating himself and her even more.
@@juanchoxdiaz Bingo. Even in the past, he's more afraid of getting caught and separate himself from Ashley. It's not 'What have we done? She doesn't deserve to die!' but 'She died! What if people know it's us?'. Andrew's morality is questionable.
One thing that i noticed is while Ashley does the no response like “……………..” Andrew on the other hand has them randomly cutting of like “… .. . …… . .. .”

The fucked up thing is, the only *happy* ending (depends on how you define happy ending) I can see for them ends with them fully embracing the psycho and being an incestuous cannibal murder couple. At one point I thought Andrew had a chance away from Ashley but part 2 revealed to me that he absolutely has the same feelings for her and is just as if not more fucked up, he's just been able to repress the feelings to an "extent" (see him asking his girlfriend to wear her hair like Ashley..). They're so co-dependent I don't expect either to go on living very long if the other dies regardless of which path is taken.
Either they both are gonna die happily together, or one takes out another and finds out they depend on eachother so much that they simply cant live without eachother and, whichever one is standing alive will off themselves too. Either way, they're probably gonna die. It's just a matter of dying together or dying seperately.
@@kenobi6350 Yeah I agree, I'd be super surprised if there is an ending where one or both is alive and about dying happy together... You could view Andrew's "romantic" jumping scenario in their apartment as foreshadowing.
@@helmutstein1178 Yup and in that dream when you can listen to the voicemail that Ashley left, since that is in Andrew's subconscious I don't believe that he ever actually heard any of them and those are HIS FEELINGS he's hearing.
I noticed two things: 1. In the Burial Route, it's interesting that even with the questionable options, Ashley doesn't really care one way or the other if Andrew may or may not want her that way. She basically sees it as a way to keep him from abandoning her if it really comes down to it. And that actually might mirror the mom's mentality of love and loyalty. 2. In the Decay Route, when Andrew starts to get aggressive, he clearly feels guilty when Ashley starts to cry. He's not to the point he'd be ready to kill her come Episode 3, but once he no longer feels remorse for making her cry, that's the end right there.
honestly andrew seems even more fked up than leyley.. she just wants his attention because she had no friends and her parents ignored her. she isnt interested in sexual relationship, however she would be fine with it if it meant he stays around.. and considering he groped her in front of their mother!!.. and the way he wanted his gf to look like leyley, its quite clear he is actually the one who has those kinds of feelings, not her.. also clearly he is complete psycho
@@Ajajaj321 Andrew is definitely not more fked up, Andrew has been warped into what he is by his sister. Any time he gets close to someone who isn't her she does her absolute best to get rid of and eventually kill them, she constantly gaslights and manipulates him, she pushed him into cannibalism, she has absolutely traumatized and isolated him every since they were young. Andrew has had no support from anyone, even his parents, in dealing with her crazy shit and he just copes the best that he can by trying to ignore all the fucked up shit in his mind and life and just keep moving forward. Ashley is certainly fine with a sexual relationship, she even says that she expected it to happen eventually in one of the routes. She is not fine with Andrew having literally anyone else in his life except for her and she plans to be the same with him. She with her crazy fixation on him has forced Andrew into being her father figure, her brother, her best friend, and probably even her lover soon.
@@redridingcape Andrew was the first to think about cannibalizing the neighbor when Ashley was still thinking about it, he was the first to bring up if it was illegal to mess with the corpse, when Ashley said she was joking at first, without Ashley agreeing to do so, I doubt if he actually wanted to proceed. Andrew killed the warden without any hesitance, in his dream sequence he even wanted to kill that guy slower because he always leer at Ashley. Andrew was also the one who thought about "convincing" the 302 lady to help them fool the other warden, and then killed that girl himself as he believed he could not leave any witness, and Ashley would also agree to do so. Andrew is a smooth talker whenever he communicates with random people like the cultist, even the cult leader buys his excuse for not wearing a robe, he can play along with mom and acts like everything is fine while Ashley is unable too. There are many other instances proving Andrew can be as cold and unbothered as Ashley, you just need to rewatch ep 1 and then ep 2 and connect the details with each other. So nope, Andrew is as fucked up as Ashley, he just hides it better than Ashley, cuz he needs to keep up appearances, just like his mother, who is also a bad person, once there's no reason to act like a normal person anymore, he opens himself and has a drastic change in personality that even Ashley can not yet fully comprehend in Burial. And don't talk like Ashley is the one who asks for a sexual relationship with Andrew when all she wants right from the beginning, is Andrew always on her side, if you choose the "Never" option after the questionable vision in Burial, the game let you know that Ashley respects Andrew's choices if he doesn't want to be that close to his sister, all she cares is Andrew chooses to stay with her, nothing else matters. Even in if you choose "Never say never" option, which literally allows Andrew to accept his incest thoughts in the future, Ashley still doesn't push and force Andrew into it, you also need to understand that the incest vision is meant as a bad thing, so both of them may choose to avoid going down that path completely once they figure out why it's bad.
@@Flopamine Obviously they are both fked up, but I think you're kidding yourself if you don't acknowledge that it started with Ashley and also his parents for not helping him deal with her and for being neglectful to the extreme. Yes, Andrew does plenty of fked up shit, and he certainly has responsibility for what he has done, but I think it's really stupid to say "honestly andrew seems even more fked up than leyley", which is the part of their comment which compelled me to comment. The only way you can justify that idea is by just completely ignoring huge parts of the story.
@@redridingcape You clearly didn't read thru my whole comment to say that I said or meant Andrew was more messed up than Ashley, I'm simply trying to prove that both siblings are equally bad, and correcting a few things that you got wrong when talking about Ashley's view in incest.
never noticed that.... the interactions are alot more hostile, and the environment between the two is heavy in decay, but in burial, they are friendly and teasing, getting closer. Based dev, always giving us these details
Ok I actually wanna ask which one is which for you? Because for me in both roads he let’s his facade broke it’s just that consequences are different because of how he views his sister.
@@mrksimka1159 where his facade drops, since he acts a little bit more like his sister and "acts like her', instead where decay their relationship "decays" more, since Ashley has the vision where Andrew kills her. then in burial you have love and sane route, love is just the "most natural" outcome, since it's only about time that happens, and then sane where they stay as dependant to each other. Either way, in both Andrew either stays stays under manipulation or slightly changes to be more dominant.
Basically "Andy" and "Ley Ley" will die. If they remain "Andy" and "Ley Ley", they will kill each other. If they become Andrew and Ashley, "Andy" and "Ley Ley" will cease to exist. And thus the game is "The coffin of Andy and Ley Ley." Sneaky little developers. They went and put the plot in the title.
I almost got the feeling that in the burial route they’re going to die anyway. In the first ep Andrew talks about how jumping off a roof together would be romantic in the sense that both your bodies will have to be buried together. Since the title of the ending is called “burial ending” I feel like they’re going to be in a situation where they’re going to jump off a ledge and commit suicide together
@@taylorlipinski4048 "Burial" is an implication that Andrew and Ashley start burying their past selfs "Andy and Leyley" in order to move on and grow, as Andrew wanted in ep 1 when he asked Ashley to stop using their nicknames and that "Andy and Leyley should die here (in the apartment) so we (Andrew and Ashley) can move on", while in contrast "Decay" shows the opposite of the Burial route where the relationship between them becomes worse and escalates in a bad way, even so Ashley is warned by the apparently tragic visions and may try to change that somehow, as she could change the vision where they got killed by the hitman. Ultimately the game foreshadows a lot of endings in Decay (and Burial too), so the ending where they jump off the balcony can become a sub ending or a random ending that happens during ep 3 by triggering certain events, still, Burial route focuses on how mentally deranged their relationship can become, goes beyond the moral ethics and toxicity, inseparable and miserable, but perhaps it's how it goes if they manage to survive on their own and put up with each other's crap.
I don't know if this has sense or not but, i think it would be cool if in one ending they will cross their path with the cultist again maybe ending to became a cult leader o in a opposite way the risk to became scarifice. (sorry for the bad writing english is not my native language)
I find it interesting that in both routes ashley seems worried or even distressed at not having the control she had over him before since he's changing. I can't wait to see how their dynamic becomes even more fucked up in both routes in the next chapter in two totally different ways based on how they are right now!!/nsrs
I think that the power dynamic will change fully. We can see it with decay but I feel like burial will have a entire 180 in terms of their relationship. Right now it seems somewhat healthy but there’s just no way that sort of thing is sustainable 🤧
I prefer the burial route. Andrew actually becomes a lot happier and while he isn't a doormat for Ashley anymore, he still cares for her to very large degree that killing her is not an option. Ashley in this ending seems to realise that Andrew is just as screwed up as her and is shocked by it. Now she doesn't know whether or not this Andrew is better than the other one and is walking around eggshells. It also seems like Ashley could be mortified at the fact that if Andrew was really this messed up like her, then why did she hurt him so many times, all of which were harrowing and deep. Like if you had a crush on someone but do terrible things to that person and find out that person actually likes you, you'd be absolutely ashamed ir guilty of what you've done. Although, that could just be me thinking too far in another road
@@Linkophere She wants to control Andrew because she's scared that he'd leave and that would leave her in perpetual lonliness. Does this mean she is justified, absolutely not. But considering the fact that both her and Andrew were screwed up due to circumstances outside of their control, her more than Andrew, it'd be unfair to just spare Andrew's happiness and cast her off to the dirt, ignoring the fact that she was left with neglectful parents and toxic friends. At least that's the way I see it.
@@Some_random_Stickman without a doubt, but to say that she is just a psycho is wrong as well. She does care for Andrew but with her being passed off as a burden by her own parents, ostracized in school, friends ignore her time and time again, couple with the fact that Andrew has all these connections and more, Ashley realised that there's quite literally nothing that she has or does that other people don't do for him thus the likelihood of him abandoning her(at least in her eyes) is not only possible but completely understandable to any human being, rational or not.
@DxonBwn Who the heck said that I'm empathising with her? I thought I've already made it clear that she's a psycho that should be punished for the things she has done. But once again I say that to call Ashley the sole perpetrator is objectively wrong. Her parents neglected her and favoured Andrew over her, passed off as a burden to her brother, bullied in school due to behaviour issues due to a sorry excuse of an upbringing, whatever friends she had ignore her before any hangout is set.
as far as i can tell the difference between andy and andrew is that andy is more "normal", easily manipulated and if pushed to the very limit, can become psychopathic and apathetic, while andrew is open about how much he uhhh... "likes" his sister, is not apathetic but more calm and serene when doing traumatizing things, and generally becomes more sociopathic and matches his sister's frequency while becoming more independent and choosing to go with ashley's whims not because she's forcing him to, but because he ACTUALLY WANTS TO. there is no way he gets normal. btw andy is still plenty attracted to ashley but andrew is just FUCKING SHAMELESS
On the contrary, I actually think that "Andy" is the one who likes his sister. I think after choosing to decline the parents offer, "Andy" takes over and that's why he's so much more flirty and sociopathic. "Andy" and LeyLey/Ashley are two sides of the same coin with Ashley being the more impulsive one and Andy being the more analytical one. Andrew on the other hand, is the one in the decay route that is sick of Ashley's shit. He still likes her but she pisses him off so much he doesn't care (Like he says almost word for word in the choking scene in chapter 1). Andrew is almost completely apathetic and by the end of the Decay route, he's completely resigned to the fact he can't escape from Ashley.
It's really impressive that already there are two routes in the game. It's even more so when each route isn't directly good, nor bad. With each having an equal amount of bad and good scenarios in each.
i find that the best horror (imo) are the stories where everything feels hopeless/inescapable. its not scary if the ordeal couldve been solved by calling 911 but the protags are too dumb to think of that. its way scarier when it feels like even smart and resourceful people are stuck in a nightmarish existence. both options being pretty messed up feels really fitting for this story
I would pick the decay route cause it would make sense after all this time when Ashley keeps breaking her promise when it's the only one thing Andrew asked of her and that's it. Having one of them killed in the end would either set them free or having all that pent up mental breakdown finally unleashed
The beauty of how the characters and events are written it this game, is that it feels like both routes can canonically take place because they diverge on very minor objective differences. The Andrew's "deal" with mother is a prime example, it could really go either way. He sees his mom is BS'ing him and trying to escape the situation. Both "you're lying, there's no way out for you or for me, also don't rag on Ashley" and "oh god I'm in too deep but I can't trust you because you clearly lie" responses could happen, it just depends on Andrew's mental state at that precise moment. Same with Ashley's decisions really. To the point it's pretty much up to the player's interpretation of the events
I generally agree with your sentiment. However, in the burial route, ashley actually starts calling him andrew more often, because she directly notices andrew changing and becoming more honest with himself. Which in turn leads to him not being as conflicted anymore (less nightmares and insomnia). So while ashley never gives a shit about andrew's thoughts and wishes in the decay route, which makes Andrew's hate for her very justified and fitting, in the burial route, he actually forces ashley to respect his wishes by becoming more dominant, independent and overall less of a doormat. You could say that in the decay route, their relationship becomes more and more toxic and Andrew finally acknowledges how awful ashley treats him. He starts treating her worse in return, which she obviously deserves 100%. But in the burial route, their relationship actually improves and becomes a lot more honest. Ironically, especially in the questionable version. Andrew starts being more open about his repressed feelings towards ashley and starts showing her genuine affection. Not the "I'll stick with you because you constantly manipulate and threaten me into it" affection. His actual unconditional affection for his sister, which has been there since chapter 1, but he always tried to hide. Ashley being more trusting towards him is what led to that. If you distrust him at the parent's house, you move towards the decay route. If Ashley shows her trust in him, he in return gets more honest towards her and himself. And because she starts to realise that andrew actually likes her, even without her constant manipulation, she stops calling him andy, which was a way to manipulate him. Because ultimately, Ashley's manipulation and coercion of andrew happened because ashley wanted andrew to love her, but she was 100% convinced that he doesn't, like literally everyone else who ever stepped into her life. Her own parents, her friends, no one ever liked her. And she was convinced that if she doesn't "force" andrew to like her, he'd hate her as well. Which might have actually been the truth when they were still kids. In the questionable version of the burial route, ashley starts to realise that andrew actually loves her without being forced to. Because andrew makes it quite obvious. And that's why she doesn't call him andy as often in the burial route. She simply doesn't manipulate him as much, because she starts to believe that manipulation isn't necessary to get Andrew's love. Basically, in decay, the relationship between "Andy and Leyley" stays the same. Ashley doesn't trust andrew and therefore continues to manipulate him as much as possible. Andrew starts hating her more and more for it. The relationship between "Andy and Leyley" becomes more and more toxic and ultimately "decays". In Burial, the relationship between "Andy and Leyley" changes. Ashley starts thrusting Andrew, Andrews rewards her trust with honesty and openness (showing his genuine affection for her), Ashley notices the genuine affection and stops manipulating him. The relationship between "Andy and Leyley" gets "buried" and replaced with a new relationship between Andrew and Leyley. This one is built on honesty, trust. It unfortunately involves incest. The one between Andy and Leyley was built on manipulation and threats. I genuinely believe that the questionable burial route will end up being a necessary step to reach whatever the true ending is going to be. It's the only ending in which both Andrew and Ashley are honest towards one another. It's the route in which they end up the most the most "equal footing". In decay, andrew is quite honest towards ashley, but ashley is as manipulative as ever and the power is almost entirely in her hands. He specifically points out that he has no choice but to go along with her whims. In sane burial, Ashley is a bit less honest, but Andrew starts totally repressing his incestuous feelings towards Ashley again, which have been hinted at throughout the entire game. The power is fairly balanced. In questionable burial, Andrew is more honest and open than he's ever been, Ashley shares more of her thoughts, like openly telling andrew she feels like he has changed (she doesn't do that in sane burial). The power is also fairly balanced.
i will say this again, The questionable, messed up and straight up degenerate route are the "best" for them. It is the entire point of their character, they are the worst people that belong to each other, just like Scott and Ramona. Heck this game is basically an extremely twisted version of Scott vs The World.
@@xavreim6957 You compared them to Scott and Ramona and called it “worst people deserving each other” I think it’s easy to understand no? Ramona might not be the worst, but knowing well she streaking 7 exes in her records should tell you something no? Most of them are actually Ramona faulty until Gideon give her the taste of her own medicine. She sees her past relationship with other are nothing sort of "phase" and curiousity with little to no regards of other feelings, she's also cheated more than once. That's why I see similarities, even I said that Ashley and Andrew relationship are extremely twisted version, not literally in equal score as Scott and Ramona. But both franchise are selling the stories 2 worst people that trying to move on from their past and becoming a better person from before. The only reason you think it's far too removed is only because Scott Pilgrim are heavily leaning towards comedy-drama instead psychological horror drama.
@@xavreim6957 I think you completely misinterpreting both O’mailey comics and this game. So conversation over we might as well start talking to walls at this point.
Andrew being jealous of "Andy" is probably the most insane thing ever. It's not a DID subject, trust, but it's so eerie that from the first episode, Andrew deliberately hated Andy and wanted him to die with Leyley once the siblings left that facility. Now? It definitely shows how bothered Andrew is when Ashley wants "Andy" instead of Andrew 😭 This game is so fucked that I'm so intrigued with everything. All the endings match and I believe they're all true endings however the individual playing this game interprets this game. (As much as them dying in the end seems like a cliche ending, it's very fitting and I WANT IT TO HAPPEN. It's truly "till death to us part" because they'll finally be rid of their codependency.)
I hope the decay ending ends with him killing her and learning to live on his own. My man's been through enough he doesn't deserve to be manipulated for the rest of his life
I really like how both siblings love and hate one of the others "personas" and its the opposite for both. Andrew wants to stay as pure siblings with Ashley but Andy loves Ashley so he wants him to disappear. Andrew also really hates Leyley. Ashley and Leyley are completely focused on Andy and view Andrew as someone else who tries to escape from them at all cost or might even harm them. So one is stuck in the past while the other desperately wants to move on.
I think that at least this have 4 endings. 1:both death somehow 2:andrew live probably killing ashley or her sacrifice for her brother 3:same as 2 but interchange roles with ashley living and andrew no 4:both living (although maybe there's 2 outcome here:together o no together)
i think that the reason we see two paths in ashley's dream is that one path is ashley's (surprisingly the sane path: her desire is that andy stays with her, so long as he stays she doesn't want much else) while one is andrew's (the insane path. it's been made pretty clear that andrew is DEFINITELY attracted to his sister, so much so that he always looks like he's restraining himself from crossing the line (ex. touching her ass, always being super touchy, even as "andy" he almost goes in for a kiss, HE NEVER DENIES NOT BEING ATTRACTED TO HER WHEN HIS MOM ASKS IF HE'S FUCKING HER, *ASKING HIS GIRLFRIEND TO PUT UP HER HAIR LIKE ASHLEY*), while ashley is only willing to go in that direction if it guarantees his staying. i have a pet theory that the reason she has a cleavage is bc she learned that he's more willing to do what she does when she looks like that). i think that that's why the demon invited him to the dream.
The part with Andrew askin for his gf to tie her hair up in a ponytail got me f-ed up on sight, like these 2 emojis mixed together: 🤨😳 I really like your comment!
Oh wait i didint think it was Andrew's vision. I didnt realise he was attracted to her sister as much as Ashley attracted to him...did i understand the other way around? damn! Edit: I came across a video of Andrew's sus moments and apparently i missed a lot of subtle details that Andrew is indeed into his sister or along that route. Completely change my view of this story lmao.
@@sholandosmiguelito6508 that's what's interesting! contrary to popular belief, ashley's not the one pushing for romance! i wouldn't say that she's "attracted" to him, but i DO think that she doesn't mind it if that's what she has to do to get him to stay. and CLEARLY, it WOULD get him to stay.
I'm probably strange for preferring the "Decay" route despite clearly knowing its route will be far more bloody or depressing. What really sold me was the ending. Andrew calls Ashley out for her manipulation, and her lies, and Ashley seems to genuinely ponder. When Andrew loses it (Ashley tried to worm her way out of saying Andy because it was OK before) and grabs his sister, Ashley replies with "What do you want, Andrew?" tear in her eye. He seemed regretful, like he shouldn't have done that, before going back to his joking and sarcastic attitude. Really hoping their relationship really can become one where they really love each other as family, without Andrew needing to embrace the chaos. Although at this point they've already got so much blood and cannibalism... can't say it's all that great either way. That in addition to the fact that Andrew himself isn't exactly a good Samaritan to begin with either. Although i'm also on the train of thought that, no matter what, the Demon will sacrifice at least one of them by the end of the game. So... even if this "Cope" of mine comes to fruition, I also can't imagine that either/or one of them will live.
I agree with that Decay is my preffered route. Andrew is at his best in that route because he's having to deal with the full brunt of the situation (his whole family, including himself, is fucked and its made no better by the mixed feelings of hate and love he carries for them). I realy liked the scene of him having to dissect the corpses because you can see those two parts of him tearing at him and its begining to change him. Decay results with the most character development for Andrew imo, as it almost seems like he's reluctantly realized how horrible of a person he is, in the process removing Ashley's main way to manipulate him as it seems like he's begun to think that maybe they both just deserve to die. It's also a bonus that he's turned the tables on Ashley in their relationship which then forces her to recognise the intensity of the situation as things are ramping up against her and at one point she'll no longer be able to just brush off her actions which is some prime material. In short they're both horrible people but Andrew having to deal with this realization of his own nature rather than just accepting it makes me much more interested in Decay compared to Burial.
I also agree that the Decay route seems to be the best for Andrew. While the siblings have a much more adversarial relationship in this path, Andrew seems to still be resistant to Ashley’s psychopathy. The small detail at the end where he doesn’t get the demon mark on his hand (probably because he didn’t use the charm), also helps this case in my mind.
35:40 if you look at the details more attentively, you will notice that Andrew's soul is tar!!! does this mean that he is much worse than Ashley? in any case, now it's just guesswork, we'll find out everything in Chapter 3
I doubt it. At most he's descending to being her equal in immorality. She was by far the worse of the two in episode one, but only moderately/somewhat worse in chapter 2.
I know it’s because Ashley is just worried about having control over Andrew, but I find it hilariously ironic that she is worried about him having less of a reaction to stressful and fucked up situations considering he is literally mirroring her own behavior
This is probably offtopic but once the humans explore all of the oceans, just imagine their horrified face after seeing so much dead bodies thrown onto the ocean.
Andrew's Decay ending is the best ending for me, since i feel Andrew has been manipulated by everyone around him and just decided to put a stop to it by finally cutting off the root of his lifelong issues, his diabolical sister; Ashley
I do not think Andrew is as innocent as he thinks himself. Blaming Ashley for all his problems is simply not true. First of all, if the parents never sold their own children, Andrew could've got a chance to finish education and leave. Andrew is also hung up on social appearances, but behind close doors he has shown to be less caring. he's simply less transparent than Ashley on his feelings.
@@cyncynshop But unlike anyone else, he has a reason to be this cold towards people, nobody really raised him up into the arms of warmth or safety having to take care of his sister which only brought more problems, and although he has a faint sense of insanity, he does also own a sense of morality, in comparison to his sister or parents, he did what he did because there was no choice for him
It's funny how Burial route is an example where putting two negatives will make something positive out of it. I never thought it would be possible, but it's just how it is. Personally, I'd pick burial route in a heartbeat, because it's the most positive outcome for the two given the current version. I know Ashley may have deserve decay route to some extent because of how she've been. But I feel like the lack of love from her parents and mental help is what made her end up being fucked up and dependent to Andrew like that. I'm not optimistic enough about getting a redemption arc for Ashley, especially that horror games meant to get worse as we go deeper, but why not? Or at least someone who picked burial route might hope for something nice if only. I don't really care much about incest. Especially I'm aware that the entire story and choices is just for the game and doesn't represent who we are in real life. 😂 It's just nice to see how some people came to understanding of picking burial route with an open mind despite of how so much people in this fandom still can't get over of having incest in the theme despite how there's already more than enough undertones from the start that warns them about it. I couldn't blame anyone who end up pairing both of them either given how much chemistry and build up was done for both of them.
Honestly they are both incredibly broken and toxic but their toxicity synergism’s and both of them care deeply for the other. Ashley is extremely possessive and manipulative. Andrew cares for her, feels responsibility for her, and is apparently attracted to her. However he rejects these feelings because 1. She is his sister, and 2. He is basically the one who raised her. However her manipulation and refusal to change has grated on him. He sets boundaries but she refuses to follow because she wants to be in control. This leads to two paths, either he will need to accept her and his feelings for her and acknowledge the twisted relationship which has formed, or he will kill her. Because Andrew is also a possessive yandere. He has several moments detailing that he won’t let her go and will kill to protect her. So he will either continue the relationship or end it and potentially himself along with her. As he says. He will put her in the trunk and drive off the bridge. If he kills her, he isn’t living to see the aftermath,
Oh believe me it's possible, my brother sucks so much at making chicken I had a existential crisis over if I even liked chicken cause his was always so moist yet somehow dry
Actually, in the vision with Andrew and Ashley we can see the future of what happens, depending on which side we pick. If we pick the right (sane) side, then the pictures go from left to right. Andy and Ley are happy together, but then Andy meets up with his ex, and Ley is heartbroken. If we choose the left, then the pictures go from right to left. Andy and her ex break up for good, Ley is happy, then they find love for each other and... Well you know
Also a little add up to it. Same path is actually explains the episode title demon gives her “LeyLey and LeyLey alone” and she collects ghosts in a jar in this path, maybe she will go on murder spree because he left her or even “pulls off Kotonoha” so to speak?
Nah, i think it's more about redeeming herself Maybe collecting the souls she sacrificed to set them free? One is clearly the mother. (The last soul) It's clearly seen as the "Good" route in my eyes. Honestly now i find it questionable if i should choose that over the insane one... i love some yandere jealousy love stories if Andy meets up with his ex @@mrksimka1159
K so here’s how I see this, what it looks like is that there will be a romance ending, obviously this means that they will forever be together This looks to be the Good but “technically” Bad Ending. Good because their relationship strengthened in the end to the point we’re they both trust each other fully and are both happy with each other. Bad because this also means Andrew fully embraces corruption like Ashley, Ashley will never learn independence from Andrew and Andrew will now officially be fully entertaining and accept the Co-Dependency problem and will be ok with it.. The Sane ending is kinda tricky as there was no vision but however the fact that in order to get this ending, in the puzzle you have to place the Sun over Andrew and Ashley’s Plushy Frame on the left with the moon and stars, the broken heart over Ashley’s plush in the frame on the right and putting the heart over Andrew and what looks like Julia’s plushy in the frame on the right. It looks like Ashley will finally but somewhat regrettably let Andrew go and have his relationships with other women and deciding to just be siblings with him as they’re supposed to be.. If ending is real then this is the Overall Complete Good Ending, Their relationship strengthens to the point were Andrew, and or (possibly) Julia successfully convinces Ashley or Ashley convinces herself to end the blood oath and finally stop the Co dependency madness and madness in general. Andrew’s happy, Julia’s happy, and Ashley’s happy for Andrew and she will have a normal relationship with him going forward as siblings (Sun), but sad for herself? (Broken Heart) which might get better overtime?? And who knows they both might actually be able to live a normal life? The Decay Ending is Clearly the Bad but “technically” Good ending. Bad because their relationship completely falls apart beyond repair, their situation worsens to the point of no escape and Andrew gives up on Ashley and seemingly himself and their situation of survival as he kills her and himself or just gets himself killed by her (If the gun still has rounds and she chooses to kill him)... Technically Good only because the co dependency, corruption, manipulation, murder, and overall madness finally stops even though they had to die in order for it to happen. Basically all in short, the world will be in a slightly better place now that they are dead and won’t be sacrificing anymore people to the demon and eating them and etc.
What a Macbeth situation this all is... Either Andrew is getting really fed up/and Ashley is rolling in her control Or they're either really in tune together in a really messed up way ...this wont end well either way
@@Superniryeah exactly in both versions she’s loosing her grip on him but in case of one of scenarios it’s actually beneficial to her in a long run but she’s too self centered too see😂
Shouldn't imagine a good ending now cuz whatever happens to them next will certainly be finding more souls for the demon. Let's say they somehow make peace with each other, they still have to find and sacrifice people for souls and that's gonna become a problem, we also don't know much about demons in their world yet cuz clearly the demon in the cultist club looks hella powerful than the one Ashley and Andrew knows.
@@Flopamine if they're still being chased/on the run (which ofc they are) then yeah🥲 Like the tragedy voyeurs that we are, I cant wait to see what will happen
This dev/writer/whoever is credited for the dialog in these games is SO GOOD at writing couples. Like incredbly good. But twice now they've been siblings or clones/twins and man... why
The burial (with questionable path and choice) to me seems the more canon, meanwhile the decay without shoot would be my most liked (with ammo), and the decay with shoot, it's what would happen (on my opinion) in the real world with more human reaction.
I must say this game is very interesting and morbid as hell the more I look into it. It's clear that Andy and Ashley are both absolutely messed up in their special ways, likely due to parental neglect, also his mom said when she was 22 she already had a 7 and 5 year old insinuating she had a child at 15 although it could've been 18 depending on how liberal you want to be with "when I was your age". The way they talk about eating their parents so casually like it's another Tuesday night, is something else too. I think the most cannon ending would be the least moral, making Andy have no empathy towards killing his parents and eating them and having an incestuous relationship with his sister. Why I think this is because he had been around the moral deadness of his sister so much I think it would seep into him a lot until he's pretty much just like her and I think his parents had been neglectful to both of them, after all they sold both of them to quarantine not just Ashley and had both of them legally declared dead so I think the least morally right path would be the one that makes more sense considering who they are. I also think the parental neglect makes him interpret love for siblings as romantic interest in some way and Ashley just goes with it because she thinks it'll keep him around
26:09 pony tail on her left 26:57 pony tail not seen on her right yet (both from burial route) 38:11 pony tail on her right (decay route) ignorable 40:54 pony tail on her right (burial, "alabama" route)
Maybe it's because of FNAF, but I find this psychological horror game funny. And the story gets interesting no matter how you swing it or what you choose. Especially the Alabama route, it has the most jaw dropping moments and an interesting look at our main characters motives and backstories. Also if you remove all the crime these two have committed and the incest, I would honestly smash Ashley.
she is manipulative and playfully harsh and has no idea what a border and a sensetive subject is, even if you just want to do a one night stand and ghost her youll just double the red flags and give it to the next person and that is a violation of the brocode
I feel that way about Andrew…he is good looking to me and would like his personality if he wasn’t….like no 😭 imma have to write an alternative ending or something 😂
It’s funny so many neurotic teenagers online are conflating the momentary emotion of happiness or even the sight of someone joking and smiling with the benchmark for mental health, and get confusingly upset about it.
I meaaaan... this two are joking and smilling in a Burial route while trying to dispose of bodies. 😂This is not exactly a healthy happiness and knowing this two it’s temporary anyway.
@@cupcakedoce956 randoms who don’t take showers are mad that the pair seems a bit too happy in the incest route, going on to come to the conclusion that the game portrays that as one of the “sane” and “mentally healthy” paths for the characters in question because they’re not spiraling and at each other’s throats afterwards.
The mom said that when she was Andrew’s age, she had to take care of a seven, and a five year old. She also says that Andrew is in his twenties. Seven minus twenty is thirteen. Jesus Christ.
Andrew is canonically 22, Ashley is 20. So since the mom is talking to Andrew about this she is saying she got Andrew when she is 15. Still bad but more acceptable. Plus the dad is just a pushover like Andrew before. He is so spineless he didn’t even say no…
Bro I would like to see Ashely leaving Andrew to see how he would react like yeah yeah I know Ashely would rather die before she leaves her Andy but maybe we get a surprise and we can see how Andrew finally accepts she’s not the only fucked up obsessive psycho And he’s not the poor little lamb he makes himself to be
@@UltraStarWarsFanatic bro I know that’s a fact. but u know I was just saying cause I would really like to see sum type of reaction from Andrew Other than always considering if killing Ashley or not 💀
Ashley is completely useless without Andrew. Every section you play as her she is completely impulse driven and naive. She is really good at manipulating but has no clue where she is going. Thats sorta the big moral dilemma because she is abusing andy constantly but Andy can't leave her cuz she would just die.
@@luminous3558 damn now I’m seeing a whole new perspective of this I thought she would be a little fine cause I know she’s a brute but when she’s on action she’s a little smart I mean to manipulate people u need to be kinda smart? or at least quick on catching things to use for ur benefits and either way she knows how to use people she’s just all over Andy cause she grow up with him and it’s the only person that ever gave a shit about her
Edit: I think I figured it out. Both the chase and "that" scene will take place after Ashley (in decay) or Andrew (in burial) do something really f-d up in Ep.3. - In decay route, Andy snaps and decides to kill Ashley for what she's done and there's nothing she can do about it, - In burial their relationship is not as strained, and she'll use sex as a way to placate Andrew, hence his "I'm easy to distract" line. Or she uses sex to calm his guilty conscience as she puts it. - Sane burial will probably be something like the previous route, but she'll calm him down in some other way and they'll also be chill --- Rewatching the decay dream, it seems to me it foreshadows Ashley doing something so bad that even Andrew can't forgive her anymore and it pushes him over the edge. Maybe she kills someone (some theorize it'll be his ex), maybe she once again goes "Andy-Andy" on him and he finally snaps this time, but one way or the other it ends with Andrew chasing and killing her. Although it's very likely it can be avoided as with the killer situation Also, Sane Burial seems to imply Andy is also becoming a Tar Soul, represented by the grey-red soul that speaks in green subtitles like Andrew
Or maybe that the demon takes Andrew's soul and Ashley trespasses into the demons realm (the one the demon told her not to go to) to get his soul back and that his soul is just as "tar" as hers.
32:40 this is the best ending in my opinion, hope this vision becomes real. If one of them is gone the other's obcession and dependency will eventually be gone so this seems great
I mean, when a psychopath is legitimately crying for a person. You know it hits deep. This is one ending where they realize just how important they are to each other. To be honest. It’s extremely plausible that Ashley or Andrew ends up dying themselves after the deed of slaughtering their sibling. Remember that the description of the game quite literally puts emphasis on toxic codependency.
@@Soons.. I'm not saying that it's likely to happen, I just wish that's an ending. An even better ending would be one in which both stay alive but seperate and get therapy, but everyone knows that that's not going to happen
My guess is that if either one dies the other one will kill themselves in short order afterwards, or do something insanely reckless to get themselves killed. I think that they are both too codependent on each other to live long apart from the other.
Im 99.9 percent sure that if the Ashley shoot ending happened she would eventually go insane and off herself \and in the Andrew knife ending i think he will either off himself or get togetheter with Julia in chap 3 But honestly i think the canonical ending (?) is most likely gonna be the cursed burial
This game: Welcome to McDeranged, home of the deranged. Which order of mental instability would you like? Whatever you order comes with fresh meat, the darkest ketchup, and trauma-dip.
I think ashleys vision when she takes the sane route burial is foreshadowing how many more kills shes gonna get and how this is shown is when she is collecting the souls
Hey by the way I just wanted to let you (and whoever reads the comment) The signs say different things when you place the plushie down on the Questionable route. from left to right, Bottom to Top, it goes - Soulmates, Family, Friends. I enjoy how the neglect from their parents shows how Ashley came to love her brother to a point of insanity in this route. Plus you can show how in the decay route she's still manipulative to try and keep him to herself cause she is all she really has in her mind. But in the burial path she trusts him more and notices what she's done to his psyche (mental state of mind) and worries if she went too far and feels distraught between happy he's loyal but worried he wont be the same "Andy" that she remembers.
Im gonna be honest with you On the Burial path, which I took (Lets go Incest) i thought the Demon wanting Andrew to go in and the eye appearing in his hand was because it actually wanted Andrew's soul/Possess him, I never thought that it actually just wanted another Sociopathic murderer
think about it, in the burial route, andrew is just as much a monster as ashley, so it makes complete sense that the demon would consider him on-tier with her in that regard, that and what's the harm in another soul-harvester committed to the cause?
Absolutely fantastic edit for the story branches, I've seen videos like this for other games such as Undertale, and this one's clarity, subtitling, and editing are perfect. Can't imagine it done better, appreciate it
29:15 those two souls are the mom and dad. I’m guessing the mom is the black one. And those other two are the 2nd warden, and the cultist who dies at the very beginning after the summoning
another 6 months to wait for the continuation daamn btw, decay route seems the most intriguing, as they will reminisce a lot, and sometimes i just cant imagine them being normal in society lol (and actually how is ashley a virgin when shes just a literal smash, putting her sociopathy aside)
despite her being an undebatably awful person who abuses and manipulates Andrew, the frame at 49:35 actually kinda makes me feel kinda sorry for Ashley since she really does love him, yet he absolutely hates her and even himself.
@@Replied_ByMeatr1der5 I’m no psychologist but, I think a “psycho’s” love is just horrifically messed up. So, even if a “psycho” did “love” somebody, it wouldn’t make them normal. Hopefully, I’m explaining this in a way that is understandable.
Ashley thinks Andrew hates her. Which is why she thinks she needs something to keep him with her, be it helping him sleep or literally having sex. She can't comprehend that he likes her.
the Burial route seems like Andrew is becoming more like his sister and Ashley just can't handle it sometimes like my God he destroys her so damn much it makes me laugh sometimes cause of how damn annoying she is PS: Yeah I changed the Leyley to Ashley cause I did Andrew so like it just felt wrong not to change it
the thing is, in this game everyone is a degree of mentally ill. the mother and father is like the son and daughter. Ashley is a Sociopath, while Andrew is a Dark Empath, he MAY seem normal, but Dark Empaths are merely Sociopaths that understand Empathy and Societal norms to keep that appearance.
@@luminous3558 Someone else pointed out that Mom had 4 chances. 1. Left alone while they made coffee. 2. Left alone while they made dinner. 3. Left alone with dad during the night. 4. Upstairs with Ashley on the phone she could have explicitly asked for help (and probably gotten shot, but is that worse than what happens?). We know she didn't call for help or escape during the time she was left alone because it's already morning when they call customer service. It takes hours of waiting and then even more time to clean up. She's not the mastermind of the plot to harvest the organs of entire buildings. She didn't believe Andrew and Ashley would kill them if they cooperated. No one shows up to catch them. This points to Andrew's original assessment being correct: She's the type to stay out of it rather than report them and they could have left in the morning. Personally, I think she didn't plan to betray them (again). But after getting tied down and threatened in the basement, she'd say anything to get out of there alive and the chances of her betraying them go up. Even if she did follow through on her promise to try to work things out, the people who sent the assassin aren't lenient about loose ends.
I am very intrigued by the mole. What is it? Does Ashley have it too? Is it a Andrew thing only? Is the demon trying to take control of Andrew? Is...the demon in love with ashley??? Since it seems rather intrigued by ashley's tar soul
I dont know if it means something but since in the two paths theres different ending scenes that one shows a eye in andrews hand and other one showing a cleaver I think that my mean something for the episode 3 I guess?
In burial route, it seems that demon marked him to find him easier like how it finds Ashley by using the trinket. While in decay, the picture of a cleaver, pack of cigarette and lighter implies that their relationship will go down hill or stuck and can't escape the loop of killing, sacrificing people to the demon or probably something worse.
@@Flopamine Yeah those actually makes sense honestly, I'm really excited to see what happens next. I would really feel bad seeing andrew and ashley having a bad relationship at all
It's interesting how the paths diverge. In Decay, Andy is seemingly back for Ashley to manipulate since he's freaking out as he butchers their parents. She probably expected to do the same thing to him after Nina's death in order to keep him further under her thumb, but instead he kisses her and tells her he has nothing to say to her. She got Andy, but now he's a ticking time bomb, which is further reinforced with her clairvoyant dream where he snaps and tries to kill her. In Burial, Andy is gone. Ashley is intimidated at the aspect of his change because Andrew is not someone she can manipulate as effectively. She's left scared because the "freer" and "complete" Andrew is, the less he needs Leyley. And we see that anxiety in the final scene. Decay has Andy return, to Ashley's pleasure. But their relationship is at its worst and Andy is becoming volatile. Burial has Andrew come out on top, which leaves Ashley disparaged. Yet their relationship is actually better, and could even lead to incest, lol.
Man you have it totally reversed in decay its Andrew letting Andy decay and is pulling Ashley with him, whether she likes it or not, literally she has to let Laylay die or parish at Andrews hand. In Burial its the opposite Laylay teases out the Andy and its the begging of them laying in the same grave at the end - I interpret it as them doing the freaky, but who knows it might get worse. Laylay is confused coz old Andy had always lets say Andrew tendencies but new Andy is slowly starting to just get with the flow while new Andrew will accept begrudgingly the old nickname with no power behind it keeping Laylay in false sense of security.
I consider decay to be the most realistic because the fork in the stories is whether or not ashley lets andrew set up the ritual, and seeing how controlling ashley is i doubt she'd trust andrew enough and then andrew gets fed up and the sibling conflict in the vision happens. Ashley trusting andrew with the parents is a tiny bit far fetched but it goes down to if ashley is willing to mature enough and trust Andrew. Idk i just like decay.
Honestly if this is the only instance of far fetched in the story that you would call out I admire you. I sort of agree with you in that Decay is closer to what a normal person would do compared to Burial, which isnt saying much. Andrew is not normal and Decay is still fucking ludacris.
The last time when people been looking for game details as thoroughly was with Deltarune chapters. And it took entire community to find them. Nice job, keep it going!
Has anyone noticed when andrews interacting with his parents the musics more stable but when hes interacting with ashley the musics all out of toned and stuff
I somehow feel like the 'decay' route seems more plausible so far as the true end. Like. Ashley has basically been poisoning him for years with her shenanigans. He definitely grapples with the idea of continuing to give her the benefit of the doubt, or just cutting her off... literally. It's also the route where he doesn't get that demon mark... Obv he's not a saint, but he has tried to hold onto his morals for the longest time, slowly changing priorities so somehow, he is still in control. First it was 'Don't be rash whilst we're starving. I'll think of something', then ''do the right thing and turn yourself in??? How to not make it worse???'' and then 'okay, we're going with the fugitive route. just don't get caught'. Why... wouldn't he break? Because it's canon in episode one that he damn near tried to kill her or contemplated it... until she started crying...
Honestly burial route kitchen scene made me lose it lmao, Andrew has a great sense of humor, shame Ashley doesn’t appreciate him poking fun at mistakes too!
The interesting thing is that while Ashley seems to prefer being around Andrew in the Burial route she either hasn't gotten used to him or she outright knows that there's something wrong with her brother (which is probably true given the last part of the route) while in the Decay route she can control his actions in the present but won't be able to in the future so by that point Ashleys only choice would be to die by Andrews hands or kill him by her own.
I love the fact that developer literally left the incest decision to the players. The routes we chose are briefly: a1: Her's manipulative personality harms Andrew and when he cannot stand it, he kills Ashle and then himself. (In this ending, it is seen that the two siblings still care about each other) a2: Ashley kills Andrew with her selfishness. b: Ashley is reducing or giving up her obsession with Andrew. c: Ashley, with the help of the devil (because Andrew had a birthmark later), controls Andrew's brain and feelings and attracts him to herself. It ensures that his eyes only see Ashle. It's smart to only offer this as an option to players when making the c ending.
Umm no, the demon mark had nothing to do with Ashley. In fact it's just implied that that's the demon's way of allowing him into the demon world without the Talisman(Nemlei has even teased a scene of them in the dreamworld together in the next chapter). Andrew's always had that attraction, he just tried to deny it(which is outright stated in chapter 2 and they make it very clear that he was only with Julia to distract himself from that fact). The actual point is that Andrew is a sociopath just like Ashley(though even worse as the friendship one directly show that his soul is also a tar soul and is in fact even worse than Ashley's), and the mark showed up shortly after both the demon expressed desire to meet with Andrew in that world and Andrew stopped hiding his sociopathy, which has been heavily hinted at throughout both chapters. Overall I do't get why people blame Ashley for how Andrew ends up in that route, it's really just how Andrew is when he isn't trying to gaslight himself and those around him into thinking he's normal, Ashley didn't mind control Andrew in any route nor did he break outside of Decay
To me, Burial + no olive branch (incest or no), is the true Andrew canon. He is not a victim. He is a self-delusional monster. Embracing it more was just the expected end-all.
There is no Andrew canon I think, you can simply choose his degree or flavour of messed up. I personally am a huge fan of Burial all the way but remember that there is Andy and Andrew while there is only Laylay
I may have a theory here, and the scene at 29:12 made it seem more plausibile for me. Those 2 souls are a representation of Andrew and Ashley, with Andrew's soul being the black one and Ashley the white. We all clearly seen how much deranged Andrew really is, and how he actually feels _that way_ for Ashley too, since he never neglected his mom's assumption at 8:00, and his reaction at 40:58. That's why his soul is black. In fact, the entity at 35:33 is supposed to be him, judging by the green font color and the way she talks to the soul. Ashley instead basically lowered herself to his level, by dressing as it pleases him (the ponytail), cooking for him even if she sucks at it (19:33), teasing him so he could react, even if it may anger him so much he could consider to kill her, joking so he could laugh and be himself again when he feels down, taking strange initiatives that he may like and even pushing herself to _make it_ with him just so he could still stay around her (56:47). This means she wasted herself on him only (32:43), as no one else really wanted her, that's why she's the white soul. This whole thing kinda reminds me of the relationship beetwen Joker and Harley Quinn too tbh
@@Cat_Garfield I know, I never said she was clean. She's as bad as Andrew. But in a certain POV, she may be viewed as at least better than him. IMO, I think she's just someone who wasn't raised properly with enough care by her parents, and has always been neglected by everyone except Andrew (he was stuck with her since they were kids, whether he liked it or not). That basically shaped her in the way she's now, or at least gave the foundations. Though, considering the fact that that room was actually just an Easter Egg, we still are uncertain about the significance of those 2 ghosts, they may not even have any importance to the story, not even in a symbolic way, so if things go that way, part of my thesis would just go down the toilet, but I'm pretty sure the white one ABSOLUTELY WASN'T their mother (she was terrible both as a person and as a mother). Mine was just a theory (that exclusively works only for the Decay Route), made piecing together some little details throughout the story, and interpreting them in my way. So I won't be surprised if it gets 1000% shat on once we get Chapter 3
I like the detail in Ashley crying from shooting Andrew, clearly spiteful but hurting deeply inside from having to kill him, because she loves him and is very confused on why she was even put in that position
Honestly Andrew is more scarier than Ashley Like he has the same obsession Ashley has with him just in a more controlling way he knows how to hide and maintain a facade better while leyley is more of a psycho brute :v u know what I mean? Like in decay u can see how he decide to say hidden until he can snap Ashley neck cause he want to stay in his little bubble that his not a crazy biatch to, while in burial we can see how he’s accepting he’s fvcked up too and he starts embracing leyley and the idea of what they are and can be 😏🥵💀💀💀 Nah I’m just kidding (maybe) My point is that he starts seeing her as a team instead of a bitch treating him like a puppet or a dog or whatever he thinks
I think the main reason Ashley wad sad at the end of burial route questionable path is because Andrew is doing just fine, his insomnia is cured, which means he no longer needs Ashley around to help him fall asleep. Furthermore, she literally said “Andy is all grown up now, he doesn’t need me anymore.”
This artstyle and music are oddly nostalgic, it reminds me of the early 2000s, and weirdly enough gives me PBS kids or Nicktoons vibes? It kinda reminds me of this old show called edgar and ellen
andrew is an interesting character because his priority has always been to keep himself safe he doesn't fear the crime itself but the consequences .Ironically ashley 'killed' her 'andy' the moment she laughed at him for giving in to her and not stopping her from killing her childhood friend ... she created this or these versions of andrew ,different versions but with same core andy's love towards his sister .ashley can vaguely feel 'andy' inside of andrew and subtley tries to bring him back not realising the futility of her actions ... perhaps ,she thinks that only 'andy' can love her despite her 'character' leading to not acknowledge andrew's affection. when it comes to the routes , decay and burial are sus , the latter seem better but the demon is sus af while the former is heavier but without the demon ...
i absolutely love oldfairytales playing on the burial route. quite fitting, isn't it? and it always gets me chills and sometimes teary eyed when the demon screams upon andrew giving ashley a hug on the bridge in burial. makes me think something big is gonna happen in the later chapters and a really big difference between burial and decay
I'm surprised by how many people think that the burrial ending is the "happy" one. Let's not forget how Ashley is so dependent on her brother that she is willing to sleep with him just to get him to stay, even though she herself doesn't want to. And how Andrew doesn't have this level of crippling attachment and feels like he can act on his attraction now. This is already a disaster and an even bigger one waiting to happen. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the next burrial chapter includes rape
This is one of the best comments I've read here that truly makes sense. I agree with everything you've said from A to Z. It's unsettling to watch this unfold because, in hindsight, Andrew is worse than Ashley. The fact that he’s stronger and knows Ashly will do anything to keep him by his side is scary. He's obsessed and messed-up too, but he can hide it, even from Ashley. As she starts to realize the changes, it's kind of sad because I genuinely feel sad for Ashley. She just wants him to stay by her side and not leave her because, from birth, he was all she had, and she'll do anything to keep him close. She doesn't really want anything else. She does manipulate him and actively wants him to be "Andy" so that she can control him. That ending is the worst for Andrew, but in my opinion, what might happen to Ashley in the so-called "happy" ending is far worse than what could happen to Andrew in the other route in my oppinion.
When she says "Eat shit and die!" I was really hoping Andrew would give a scary ass comeback and say "That goed for both of us, we both ate shit so now we die together..."
Oh, the irony. In burial the two seem so happy and comfortable with one another, yet Andrew has that mark on his hand that shows the Demon probably claimed his sould as a future sacrifice or possession. Meanwhile in decay, their relation is getting worse. Andrew is snapping more at Ashley and clearly not willing to let her push him around. There won't be a demon involved, but Andrew is clearly going to get tired of Ashley's bullshit by the end of this and off her and then himself.
Are there any plans for chapter 3? It feels like there are still unanswered questions. How the game is right now, they've laid down a good foundation for them to build from. I would like to see more routes and choices especially one were you can spare the parents. I definitely want to see more.
i heard its intended to be a triology. genereal consensus seems to be that chapter three will likely come out some time in 2024, but nothings concrete afaik

I think its actually "andy" not "andrew" that wants to kill ashley. Because if you look at the flashbacks, hes been having thoughts about killing leyley after they buried the body, and he did almost strangle her right before he no longer wanted to be "andy". If you go decay youll see "andy's" unstable headspace and freaking out and apathy since the beginning. Where as "andrew" wants to put that and all the bad memories with ashley to rest. He was still unsure about killing his parents but after he realized his parents intentionally left them to start to get life insurace, that pretty much sealed it and he was perfectly fine with killing his parents after. Ashley is actually being caught off guard because andrew is going along with her willingly and she doesnt even have to manipulate him anymore.
I love how they make it clear that incest is the mentally unhealthy route and yet they seem happier XDXDXD
Or they accept that they're actually mentally unstable and just roll with it, they don't have the money to pay for therapy anyway.

Nina and Julia don't seem to be bad people, all they did was having a crush on Andrew then one died and one got bullied to almost yeet herself.
I guess theyre closer now 💀
@@Flopamine The only bad thing I saw about Nina and Julia was that they basically only became "friends" with Ashley to date Andrew, which sucks but doesn't justify murder or harassment lmao.
And I don't think they will go after Julia in the future, since the only reason they went after the parents was their money and the possibility that the parents would expose them in the future to police or who hired the hit-man, revenge is a tertiary dish for our sinful sibilings XD
The only reason I can think for them to kill Julia is if Andrew felt like meeting her again (which we saw in the dream isn´t the case) since it would activate Ashley's jealousy and she would do a "her or me" situation again, another would be that Julia met them by chance on the street and greeted them, which would be a mix of "she would rat us out to the police" and Ashley's jealousy.
I honestly can’t add anything else, since OP beat me and took the words right out of my mouth.
Or screws him again eh?

@@MoiraiScarlet ashley seems incapable of major change as befitting of a “tar soul” black is black there are no shades of it or room for improvement
@@rabies6418
For me it seems more like a facade, his actual worries are actually messed up and I doubt it's completely on Ashley, despite her constant manipulation on him.

I noticed two things:
@@redridingcape
Andrew was the first to think about cannibalizing the neighbor when Ashley was still thinking about it, he was the first to bring up if it was illegal to mess with the corpse, when Ashley said she was joking at first, without Ashley agreeing to do so, I doubt if he actually wanted to proceed.
@@taylorlipinski4048
"Burial" is an implication that Andrew and Ashley start burying their past selfs "Andy and Leyley" in order to move on and grow, as Andrew wanted in ep 1 when he asked Ashley to stop using their nicknames and that "Andy and Leyley should die here (in the apartment) so we (Andrew and Ashley) can move on", while in contrast "Decay" shows the opposite of the Burial route where the relationship between them becomes worse and escalates in a bad way, even so Ashley is warned by the apparently tragic visions and may try to change that somehow, as she could change the vision where they got killed by the hitman.
You're a genius, this one of the best comments that i've read, you've just written the true
I was thinking that same thing. Like she's not happy either way despite them both having favourable outcomes for HER
I prefer the burial route.
Its giving Ashley too much credit. From what im getting, she wants to control Andy totally. Andrew is more independent of her will and she hates that.
@@daniel-mz8gn nah Ashley is just a psychopath
@@Some_random_Stickman without a doubt, but to say that she is just a psycho is wrong as well. She does care for Andrew but with her being passed off as a burden by her own parents, ostracized in school, friends ignore her time and time again, couple with the fact that Andrew has all these connections and more, Ashley realised that there's quite literally nothing that she has or does that other people don't do for him thus the likelihood of him abandoning her(at least in her eyes) is not only possible but completely understandable to any human being, rational or not.
@DxonBwn Who the heck said that I'm empathising with her? I thought I've already made it clear that she's a psycho that should be punished for the things she has done. as far as i can tell the difference between andy and andrew is that andy is more "normal", easily manipulated and if pushed to the very limit, can become psychopathic and apathetic, while andrew is open about how much he uhhh...

@@echo8844I don't think calling 911 would've saved them IMO considering the way the wardens were acting.
It is clear that they're codependent most of the time, so the death of one of them will most likely cause the death of the other in the near future.
I agree I honestly think the decay route is the best one of the two
I generally agree with your sentiment.

Andrew didn't seem surprised at all when ashley pulled the gun on him
he wasn't. and he didn't care. either way the living hell she put him through would have ended, whether it be with him dead, or her.
Pretty sure he was gonna off himself after anyway
i think that the reason we see two paths in ashley's dream is that one path is ashley's (surprisingly the sane path: her desire is that andy stays with her, so long as he stays she doesn't want much else) while one is andrew's (the insane path. it's been made pretty clear that andrew is DEFINITELY attracted to his sister, so much so that he always looks like he's restraining himself from crossing the line (ex. touching her ass, always being super touchy, even as "andy" he almost goes in for a kiss, HE NEVER DENIES NOT BEING ATTRACTED TO HER WHEN HIS MOM ASKS IF HE'S FUCKING HER, *ASKING HIS GIRLFRIEND TO PUT UP HER HAIR LIKE ASHLEY*), while ashley is only willing to go in that direction if it guarantees his staying. i have a pet theory that the reason she has a cleavage is bc she learned that he's more willing to do what she does when she looks like that). i think that that's why the demon invited him to the dream.
The part with Andrew askin for his gf to tie her hair up in a ponytail got me f-ed up on sight, like these 2 emojis mixed together: 🤨😳

Dang
I love how the difference between the routes is whether or not they're happy and content in their insanity lmao
They are bad bad people. I don't expect happy ending for either of them
I agree with that Decay is my preffered route.
The route of burial is for cowards and weaboos, the route of decay is for those of us who know the reality.
I actually feel really bad for Andrew in the decay route… he just wants to have a normal life but can’t because of Ashley
And i thought i was the only one, i know how you feel. Andrew having a sibling that is manipulative and even a seducer, yeah poor him.
Naah, Andrew is as fucked up as his sister, he just hides it better.
well...
it's not like it wasn't his choice 😐
Sure...someone is not paying attention to the game, they both have their little mental problems.
someone didnt pay attention like shut up tbh
35:40 if you look at the details more attentively, you will notice that Andrew's soul is tar!!! does this mean that he is much worse than Ashley? in any case, now it's just guesswork, we'll find out everything in Chapter 3
I doubt it. At most he's descending to being her equal in immorality. She was by far the worse of the two in episode one, but only moderately/somewhat worse in chapter 2.
it could be his lungs after all, he is a smoker
Not worse. Catching up.
He's worse than the mom.

Andrew's Decay ending is the best ending for me, since i feel Andrew has been manipulated by everyone around him and just decided to put a stop to it by finally cutting off the root of his lifelong issues, his diabolical sister; Ashley
I dunno, it seems like the Decay will end with Andrew killing Ashley then himself. Burial is more fucked up but also somehow wholesome?
Yeah i prefer decay personally
I do not think Andrew is as innocent as he thinks himself. Blaming Ashley for all his problems is simply not true. First of all, if the parents never sold their own children, Andrew could've got a chance to finish education and leave.
Andrew is also hung up on social appearances, but behind close doors he has shown to be less caring. he's simply less transparent than Ashley on his feelings.
@@johnypeperwinkle6207 Burial is just the good ending for Ashley
It's just nice to see how some people came to understanding of picking burial route with an open mind despite of how so much people in this fandom still can't get over of having incest in the theme despite how there's already more than enough undertones from the start that warns them about it.
I couldn't blame anyone who end up pairing both of them either given how much chemistry and build up was done for both of them.
You and me both. I couldn't care less for the incest, I just want a happy ending

Well

Nah, i think it's more about redeeming herself
Maybe collecting the souls she sacrificed to set them free? One is clearly the mother. (The last soul)

@@mrksimka1159she kills everyone around him until it’s just Andy, who she doesn’t put in a jar
K so here’s how I see this, what it looks like is that there will be a romance ending, obviously this means that they will forever be together
This looks to be the Good but “technically” Bad Ending.

One strange thing I found cool is that the music sped up makes a new track.
Another thing, is that the music changes for each route.
Fun fact ashley's hair shifted in her sleep.
Second, in the "Alabama path" the names of the pictures change after you place the plushie.
How did hee hair shift, do you have two time stamps?
26:09 pony tail on her left
26:57 pony tail not seen on her right yet (both from burial route)
38:11 pony tail on her right (decay route) ignorable
40:54 pony tail on her right (burial, "alabama" route)
Sadly no cutscene of her waking up in burial sane route
Maybe it's because of FNAF, but I find this psychological horror game funny. And the story gets interesting no matter how you swing it or what you choose. Especially the Alabama route, it has the most jaw dropping moments and an interesting look at our main characters motives and backstories. Also if you remove all the crime these two have committed and the incest, I would honestly smash Ashley.

Edit: I think I figured it out. Both the chase and "that" scene will take place after Ashley (in decay) or Andrew (in burial) do something really f-d up in Ep.3.
- In decay route, Andy snaps and decides to kill Ashley for what she's done and there's nothing she can do about it,
- In burial their relationship is not as strained, and she'll use sex as a way to placate Andrew, hence his "I'm easy to distract" line. Or she uses sex to calm his guilty conscience as she puts it.
- Sane burial will probably be something like the previous route, but she'll calm him down in some other way and they'll also be chill
---
Rewatching the decay dream, it seems to me it foreshadows Ashley doing something so bad that even Andrew can't forgive her anymore and it pushes him over the edge. Maybe she kills someone (some theorize it'll be his ex), maybe she once again goes "Andy-Andy" on him and he finally snaps this time, but one way or the other it ends with Andrew chasing and killing her. Although it's very likely it can be avoided as with the killer situation
Also, Sane Burial seems to imply Andy is also becoming a Tar Soul, represented by the grey-red soul that speaks in green subtitles like Andrew
Or maybe that the demon takes Andrew's soul and Ashley trespasses into the demons realm (the one the demon told her not to go to) to get his soul back and that his soul is just as "tar" as hers.
@@stronktank5941 yeah, I can see that happening as well

On the Burial path, which I took (Lets go Incest) i thought the Demon wanting Andrew to go in and the eye appearing in his hand was because it actually wanted Andrew's soul/Possess him, I never thought that it actually just wanted another Sociopathic murderer
think about it, in the burial route, andrew is just as much a monster as ashley, so it makes complete sense that the demon would consider him on-tier with her in that regard, that and what's the harm in another soul-harvester committed to the cause?

I would really feel bad seeing andrew and ashley having a bad relationship at all
Thanks for the video! I hope you will make route comparison of the next episode too!!
Very good video dude, great editing, straight to the point
I love the fact that developer literally left the incest decision to the players. The routes we chose are briefly:
a1: Her's manipulative personality harms Andrew and when he cannot stand it, he kills Ashle and then himself. (In this ending, it is seen that the two siblings still care about each other)
a2: Ashley kills Andrew with her selfishness.
b: Ashley is reducing or giving up her obsession with Andrew.
c: Ashley, with the help of the devil (because Andrew had a birthmark later), controls Andrew's brain and feelings and attracts him to herself.
@@traehignight Are u devoloper? How do u know? Yes Andrew is also sociopath but Ashley is still manipulating him.
So cool to see the comparison between the paths, thank you for this!
If you go on the love route but then switch to the sane one. Andrew says his being chased. Could be anybody but I think it will be ashley.
Bro the demon literally called Ashley as the 'tar soul'. She's probably the black soul or maybe it's the mom.
Honestly Andrew is more scarier than Ashley
Like he has the same obsession Ashley has with him just in a more controlling way he knows how to hide and maintain a facade better while leyley is more of a psycho brute :v
u know what I mean?
Like in decay u can see how he decide to say hidden until he can snap Ashley neck cause he want to stay in his little bubble that his not a crazy biatch to, while in burial we can see how he’s accepting he’s fvcked up too and he starts embracing leyley and the idea of what they are and can be 😏🥵💀💀💀
Nah I’m just kidding (maybe)
My point is that he starts seeing her as a team instead of a bitch treating him like a puppet or a dog or whatever he thinks
I like how in almost every video i find of this game there's always comments saying how hot the characters are, how fucked up it is and alabama.
this is pretty helpful, thanks.
I think the main reason Ashley wad sad at the end of burial route questionable path is because Andrew is doing just fine, his insomnia is cured, which means he no longer needs Ashley around to help him fall asleep. Furthermore, she literally said “Andy is all grown up now, he doesn’t need me anymore.”
yeah so she gonna start fking him to keep him arround
thanks for the edit, you did a real good job there
Decay Andrew: *Life is meaningless*
Burial Andrew: Life is meaningless 🔥
Him:you don't want to traumatize yourself.
Me:wants to replay all Mortal Kombat fatalities over and over while I eat chicken. 🙂💀
This artstyle and music are oddly nostalgic, it reminds me of the early 2000s, and weirdly enough gives me PBS kids or Nicktoons vibes? It kinda reminds me of this old show called edgar and ellen
Thank you for taking the time to make this thank you so much
andrew is an interesting character because his priority has always been to keep himself safe he doesn't fear the crime itself but the consequences .Ironically ashley 'killed' her 'andy' the moment she laughed at him for giving in to her and not stopping her from killing her childhood friend ... she created this or these versions of andrew ,different versions but with same core andy's love towards his sister .ashley can vaguely feel 'andy' inside of andrew and subtley tries to bring him back not realising the futility of her actions ... perhaps ,she thinks that only 'andy' can love her despite her 'character' leading to not acknowledge andrew's affection.
when it comes to the routes , decay and burial are sus , the latter seem better but the demon is sus af while the former is heavier but without the demon ...
i absolutely love oldfairytales playing on the burial route. quite fitting, isn't it? and it always gets me chills and sometimes teary eyed when the demon screams upon andrew giving ashley a hug on the bridge in burial. makes me think something big is gonna happen in the later chapters and a really big difference between burial and decay
Andrew: trying to disprove the sweet home Alabama
Ashley: NUH UH.
Oh no
That last thing makes enough sense to actually be a possibility
What's with "Questionable?"
Its should be the "Greatest, Best, Better"
Honestly no matter how many times I analyze the endings for funzies, the mood for the routes is just wow :0. Can’t wait for chapter 3!!
The fact that the, ‘questionable’ vision is one of the most replayed parts of the video scares me💀
Anyone else notice the Xylophone music that plays thru out the game, u can hear it in the scene when she wakes up from the last vision
But that track is just one of those Phonk chad songs from tiktok. Just the chill parts lil slowed down and play with different instrument. Wish i knew which track exsctly im thinking of tho. I know it's the part before it drops. But listen to it n then try ur best to remember those sigma chad songs.
wait really??
@@IHateNehemaRahman yes, I believe it's DVRST's - Closed eyes
The music, the soundtrack
Thank you for these vids, ever since I discovered this game/story I can't keep it out of my mind lately lol it's _crazy._ (pun intended)
If I play this game I would pick the burial route, bcuz 1- I don't wanna see Andrew broken and 2- I personally liked the bunny puzzle.
Isn't there a sane rout where they don't you know Alabama
@@animeuploader4992 ?
In my case, I pick the Burial Route, but just for the Ending 54:20
