You can say that again. With only around 5 of the P42s being in Phase VII at that time, it was pretty uncommon to see a duo of them. Also I believe the 82 is on there, not 72
What is that white with red lines paint scheme on f40phm 211? What ever it is, It looks sharp on an f40 locomotive. I agree, those locomotives do have awesome paint schemes, for sure. You’re making videos in Chicago now it seems like and You’ve given up on the MBTA so fast, I loved your videos of the Newburyport/Rockport Line.
The Metra 211 is the CB&Q heritage locomotive. These vids were all from a 4-day trip that I took to Chicago in April. I’ve been taking videos back in Massachusetts since I got back on April 19th, and I’ve got tons more videos to post. I just post most of my videos in the same order that I film them, so because of that I’m a few months behind
I love that Metra wants EMD power instead of some Siemens power. The SC44s are only seven years old and already they’re starting to get road worn. If equipment is going to get like that before they even reach 10 years of age, then there’s a problem here. Also, the SC44s reliability has gone down over the past six in a half years and if you think about it, that’s not good. This goes to show you that Siemens products are unreliable and trash. I’d prefer EMD power like the F40s because those are my favorite locomotives of all time. I like the look of them, they seem to be reliable with no problems that I’d heard of in recent years and the noises they make. Those new SD70MACH locomotives are wild and cool looking. They’re like big loud giants on the rails. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Don’t worry, I wouldn’t leave the MBTA that fast 😂 this was just a 4 day trip to Chicago that I did back in April. Train-wise, it was a really busy few days
Thank you for this superb video ! You have certainly captured so many of the amazing locomotive liveries in Chicago !
It’s my pleasure ! Thanks again for the kind words
Wow Deathstar leading amtrak be wildin! 😮
Absolutely ! I posted a separate video surrounding that train a few weeks back as well
@@rail_spike_productions gotcha, their horns almost sound like Ns's horns when they owned the SD70's to!
15:48, Wow, Phase VII P42DCs 72 and 138. Cool. 👍👍👍 They look sharp in that paint scheme for a 30-year-old diesel passenger loco.

Sorry about that, I saw it said 72 in the description. When did they even begin painting P42s into that scheme anyways?
Yes 72 was a typo, my bad. I believe the first one that got that scheme was 174 in the early months of this year
F40s still living on Amtrak, love it. 😊 Even though they are now NPCUs, it’s nice to see them still around. Also, I like 90221’s paint scheme.
I absolutely agree !
Ohh wow, I didn’t think Canadian National still existed, quite the surprise. 😮
Aweesome video
Thank you
Nice video Nate
I am glad you like it
Muy buen video Excelente, un saludo 👋🏻 desde Argentina 🇦🇷 😊
90221 (originally 221) was part of the original batch of 30 F40s Nos. 200-229 that entered service in 1976.

Any idea what other numbers of P42s are Phase VIIs?
69, 75, 82, 125, 138, 167, 174, and 187 are the ones that I know about. There are probably a few more
