I do hand over hand to prevent damaging the deck and helping it last longer. But I also mix the cards in the middle of the deck as well, not just the outer sides. Sometimes, I make individual piles to make sure they are thoroughly mixed. Then, after a reading, when I put the cards back in the deck, I flip them in the opposite direction so the same cards won't be upright or reversed all the time. But it's good to give it a good mix once in a while to make sure you're not getting the same cards together frequently. And I'm so happy I came across your sight/podcast when I started learning back in 2018. When I got my first tarot deck. The Steampunk Tarot by Barbara Moore. And came across your podcast with Barbara Moore. After listening, I started from episode 1 with my tarot journal and binged listened to all that was available at the time when you first stopped the podcast. And learned allot, and still continue to learn from your content. It's time to catch up on the new episodes and learn more😊. Thank you for all your work. My readings are way better and more insightful now than ever.
@frankm.2850 You just move the cards out of the way and put some anywear in the middle as you move some cards out of the way. That's how I would do it.
I usually use overhand or a modified casino riffle where I just let the two stacks fall together. However, I've discovered that one of the best ways to consult some of my oracle decks is a modified smoosh shuffle. Either I smooosh the cards around and use my nondominant hand to intuitively pick a card, or fan the cards out and either look for breaks or pull a random card with my nondominant hand.
I've got a combo. I riffle shuffle a few times to really clear out the deck; Turning one half of the deck, each time (for reversals). Then when I'm ready to pull cards, I start overhand shuffling; Two sets being placed in front, one in the back. Then I split into 3 piles and put them back together again. I might go back to a riffle shuffle when I start asking questions just to see if any jumpers fly out. If not, I shuffle a few more times and start pulling cards.
I was able to do the casino shuffle but sadly hands got stiff and I am not to do my favorite shuffle. So I am looking for a better way. Your video was charming and helped. Thank you.
I actually want to know how we lay the cards out. Should I flip the card over when I take it off the deck? What’s the actual mechanism to lift the card off the deck and place it down?
I prefer the person to casino shuffle. I have seen to many tarot readers that wet their fingers when they do the overhand. They wet them so they can get the "jumper" cards to fly out like the spirits want this card.
Why does some readers let card fly out of the deck while shuffling, while other readers shuffle and then pick a card from the top of the pile? I've seen some shuffle and then pick a card from middle of the deck. So what way do you recommend?
That's a great question! It's all about what your intuition tells you. Maybe you read the card that flies out of the deck, and other times, you pick it up and put it back and pull from the top. There is no right or wrong way. Maybe you try both and feel into what seems more accurate for your reading and your cards. 💜Team Biddy
@@Biddytarot ...thank you, I've started to realize that it all comes down to the "feeling". For me I think it's the hurdle I'm starting to get over, and now just go with the flow of what "feels right".

I use the casino style shuffle first and then the overhand and wait for a couple of jumpers wich I incorporate in the reading.

How do you get cards in the middle of the deck doing an overhand shuffle? I tried and stopped doing it out of concerns that I would damage my cards.

I've found your tips extremely helpful. Thank u
woah i love the color of your deck! matching with your background and blouse!
Thank you! Purple is my favourite colour!
You are so beautiful! You are an explosion of stunning light and so sweet and nice! Thanks for being in this world! Big hug from Belgium!

Great advice- I will try your techniques ❤
😂. Love your comment - not my real hands 😂😂. You’re the best tarot teacher that I’ve ever seen. Thank you!!!!
Thanks so much! Glad I can help.

Casino…I want to learn the casino with the bridge❤
Same! I'd love to be able to do it w/o bending or damaging my cards since it randomizes the deck better than basically any other method!
Tried them all...ty
Love it!
I was able to do the casino shuffle but sadly hands got stiff and I am not to do my favorite shuffle. So I am looking for a better way. Your video was charming and helped. Thank you.
Haha, I'm not great at the Casino Shuffle either (hence the hairy hands in the video!)
Thank you so much! I was using the wrong hand! lol ❤
Oops 😮
Love a good shuffle moment

when does it start

Oh dear - that sounds a little dodgy! You might need to find a more reputable Tarot reader, by the sounds of it.
I was like wait... why are her arms hairy! 😂
Hahaha! I need to learn how to do the casino shuffle myself!

its better to look like you know what youre doing rather than to know what youre doing
500 like ❤️
I have small hands
4:58 her hairy arms and hands scared me at first
😂😂😂
Are you supposed to ask a question before you draw a card from the deck ?
Yes - it will help to focus the reading.
It's super annoying when people shuffle the cards and they go flying everywhere
All that purple! Let me guess, you're an Aquarius or you're sponsored by Cadbury's? 😂
Hahaha, neither! I just love purple. And, it's symbolic of spirituality, higher knowledge and the indigo ray.
