I Beginning Building Walls for my Square Log Cabin - Making Raised Beds

Finally the time has come when I can start working on my garden. It is difficult to live off the land in the wild forest, but in this episode I tried to make good conditions for vegetables so that they can grow well and bear good fruit. I made raised beds and filled in 20cm of beautiful black soil, which will give the plants the opportunity to deeply root. If this season there will be a lot of vegetables in this garden, then next season I will make this garden several times larger. There are a lot of wild hares and other animals in this forest, so in order to save my garden, in the next video I will make a metal mesh fence.
Also In this episode, I started building walls for my square log house. After building the walls and roof, I will start working on the shower room and steam room, so subscribe to the channel so as not to miss these videos.

You do a great job Bjorn; it is obvious that everything you do, whether it be constructing the raised beds, to building the platform for your new house to the cutting and fitting together the first course of wall timbers, has been and is well thought out in advance. Bjorn, you are awesome! Seeing you building your homestead using only hand tools, as if the construction alone wasn’t enough hard work. And I mean HARD work! You are such a remarkable young man. Your videos are so impressive with your skills of capturing local nature to include, sharing the beauty that surrounds you. One thing that always catches me is hearing the singing of the cookoo in the forest, it is so cool. When you put the posts up at first I thought you were adding a grape arbor to your garden. Great video. I was completely absorbed for the full 43 minutes. At the tender age of 61 I have just gone off grid, and although I only have to renovate an old cabin, there are still a million things to do. But it’s an exciting challenge. Your skills are improving all the time, so best of luck with your own personal adventure.

Hi Bjorn-I've seen this video 4 times now as I had an operation & have a complete new right shoulder & am home. I have been with U since the first video & enjoy them 100%. Can't believe how much U have gotten done so far. Can't wait to see the cabin done & see what U make inside. Your parents must be very proud of U & I can see why. Great garden, might think about fencing them in, a dozen chickens might help against the bugs and maybe some bat boxes cause it looks like your in a bit of a wet area, with the chickens you will have eggs and bats will be a bit scary but very cool. Bjorn, how long will the terrible mosquito problem last, before they are not so bad? Why are you using the plane to chamfer the lumber? Is it so you can chinch the joints later? You are doing a great job.

Oh my, I could see them billions and billions of mosquitoes. You managed to keep them off your face, but not your arms. They most of had a good feeding. I know mosquitoes, they love young blood.
Half of me is still being digested back in the 50s/60s in Northern Ontario. I swore the mosquitoes up there were as big as bats. But mind you, I was a little kid, and they absolutely loved me but would not go near my Dad for some still, unknown reason, other than they like young blood the best.
Anyway Bjorn you are doing a magnificent job building all of that.
I'm kinda re-living my childhood through watching you do all that work. I'm OLD and long retired from such hard labor. But much wiser in mind and spirit in my old age... I think? (grins)
