I loved the way he portrayed Phillip and didn't care for the explanation we got as to why he left. He was my favorite discipline because he had a gentle helpful nature and reached out to help Matthew with such sweetness He also reached out to others in the show and saved his friend, Nathaniel at a very dark time. @ByOurLove That's because Philip is not a main character in the story arcs at this time. We expect grace and mercy ... let us do unto others as we would have done unto us.

Well the Chosen has had 3 big James, and no one said anything as to why they were changed! As far as I'm concerned, each actor brings their own flair to the character...and none of these guys are at all what I've ever pictured from scripture! Lol! But then we really have nothing to compare...and I'm pretty sure Matthew wasn't autistic, but its kinda kool to watch Paras play him that way! They have also put mother Mary in a lot more of the show than scripture ever did...but it's fun to picture how Jesus and His mom might've interacted...but probably not! So there are many, many character aspects not found anywhere in scripture that are depicted in the series. It just keeps us on our toes to not get fact and fiction mixed up!❤😊
We should remember that this cast has had years to get to know each other, help each other, trust each other and have the kind of character development they do. Reza gets thrown in the deep end and is expected to do something that takes years to develop, and I personally thought he did it brilliantly. Well done and welcome to the chosen family, Reza. I'm excited to see what you will bring to the role.
I don't think it is hard to replace any actor as long as they do great acting Philip was the most experienced of the disciples and first known evangelist in the bible
I agree with your opinion of the original Philip, Yoshi Barrigas. He was in my top three : ) I hope things turn out well for him. My eyes aren't drawn to the Reza Diako the way they were to Yoshi Barrigas, but of course he will be given grace. It's not easy to fill someone else's shoes.
I liked Yoshi better. I didn't even know who the new guy was, until I came across this video. I did notice the new guy, but noticed he was boring. Yoshi was not boring at all & I really enjoyed him in the role of Phillip. Buy don't really have a choice but to give Reza a chance, since I have no control or say in what happens in that show. :D
To be fair they didn’t exactly give the new actor much to do. He had a few lines that could just as easily been given to any of the other disciples. Hopefully in time they will give him more of a spotlight and we can see him shine.
I like Reza 🤩 I’m sure he will have more chances to impact us with his performance in the next seasons, we needed this calmer Phillip appearances to get used to the change :D
I miss him Dallas hired him for the part he was so kind Philp But things change and we have no choice but to move on and welcome the NEW GUY and wish him well....I still love the chosen ❤️
Yoshi was so wonderful as Philip. He really did make a difference. Miss him in this role! I have a very hard time believing the new Philip because Yoshi made the character his own!! I'm glad I am not alone in thinking this!
When getting to know 12 dark haired black bearded men, their distinctive features set them apart after seeing them enough. Yoshi was easily set apart. I just finished season 4 and had no idea the new Philip wasn't just a random follower. I remember a scene when he spoke up and I had no idea who he was and wondered if I had missed something.
The new Philip is doing excellent so leave it be. Everyone is on their own journey in life. He is a good actor and so is the new guy. God bless them all
I'm guessing there was probably some sort of conflict. If Dallas doesn't have anything nice to say, he doesn't say anything at all. And he hasn't said much on this issue. I'll put it that way
I’ll miss Yoshi! I do think he had charisma +, lol. I admit, my faves are the disciples on The Chosen that are very demonstrative like Peter, Andrew & Matthew, especially (but also Yoshi’s Phillip). Oh well, I will give the new actor more time & wish Yoshi the best!
I just love the Lord and the people and the show and i am hungry and excited for more. It helps me to understand the bible more. Thank the Lord and all of you for bringing this to us.
Personally I think the new actor for Phillip came at the right time, since the Bible doesn't say much about Phillip except being one of the disciples and in Acts where he baptized the Ethiopian. So a little charisma and a lot of humility is very befitting of Phillip. But the previous actor brought Phillip to the stage. Little overwhelming but needed for then.
I absolutely loved Yoshi's portrayal of Philip and how he helped mentor the show's character of Matthew in developing social acuity skills. It was a sad day when the cast was introduced in a BTS clip where Yoshi greeted and addressed the outdoor audience in broad daylight with a hearty "F'n A!" I was stunned. I felt that, at that moment, he had just killed his professional chances to continue into future seasons and episodes in his role because of his unscripted profanity. Yoshi would have to answer for that profane outburst behind closed doors with the showrunner, Dallas Jenkins. I suspect the agreement was to sanitize his response going forward. It was a moment I'm sure Yoshi will regret, and we, the fans, will suffer his loss of being an outcast to The Chosen franchise. I do wish him well in all his future endeavors. Yoshi's absence will continue to be felt because his unique and special charisma and charm will be missed.
Comparing one actor to another in the same role is fair. People do it all the times, e.g. actors playing Hamlet, Romeo, etc. The comparisons aren't personal, they're about a skill.
Unfortunately Dallas hasn’t been giving the new Philip the same screen time as the old one, and we’ve had 2 Seasons to get to know Yoshi, where the new guy has barely spoken. He’s a big guy, deep voice, very handsome, I believe that given a chance, and some solo time on screen, that we will come to love him like the former, maybe even more!
Hey, thanks for sharing this video! I notice that the title suggests there would be an explanation about why Yoshi left the show, but it seems like no clear reason was given, since like the rest of us you don't have the full story yet. I enjoy your videos and appreciate the content you put out. I understand the appeal of catchy titles, but I personally would love to see them reflect the actual content more closely. Regarding Yoshi vs Reza, I prefer Yoshi by far. I do not dislike Reza, but I think Phillip is not the best character for him, The Phillip we know from previous seasons is a man of character who followed John the Baptist and one who wouldn't hesitate to speak his mind, especially if he sees something unfair, all while being kind at the same time. Reza's personality, so far, doesn't seem to follow that pattern. I really miss Yoshi but I also hope that Dallas and his team will give Reza more important parts so he can develop into Phillips' character.
I really enjoyed Yoshi's portrayal of Phillip. I will miss him. Sad that he is gone, but I wish him well.

But then, how do you get all that in that period of time? What is it you do please, mind sharing?
It is the digital market. That's been the secret to this wealth transfer. A lot of folks in the US and abroad are getting so much from it, God has been good to my household Thank you Jesus
Big thanks to Ms. Chisty Fiore❤️✨💯May God bless Christy Fiore services, she have changed thousands of lives globally
How can I start this digital market, any guidelines and how can I reach out to her?
I agree, the writers didn’t give him much dialog and kept him in the background. Hopefully they will allow him to contribute.
I hope so ❤️
I loved the original Phillip too but let’s give the new Philip a chance! We might love him just as much in time. I wish both men the the very best ❤️
I loved Yoshi as Philip. Reza is great too. Both things can be true. Surely you have better things to concern yourself with.
It's just a simple comparison. No bad intentions
The heading says I had to leave, yet after hearing 6 minutes of your summary we are no closer to knowing what happened. Was there a point to all this?
Clickbait title. The channel owner is self-serving as are many who've joined in the grift off The Chosen on TH-cam.
Tell your video watchers to watch their subscriptions I was unsubscribed and just noticed when notified about this episode. Good luck and thank you for great videos!!
Thank you so much for the support ❤️
It takes time to adjust to any casting change in a series. But, Reza's Philip is growing on me. Looking forward to more of him in Season 5.
I enjoy the humbler, "still waters" style of Reza.
Same 🥰
The way he took Matthew in was awesome! Didn’t judge him, instead he coached him. True heart of faith.
It just keeps us on our toes to not get fact and fiction mixed up!❤😊
Yoshi has been my favourite from the beginning... so sorry he is no longer there...
That's fair
Yoshi gave Phillip charisma, waiting to see that from Reza.
100%
I don't think it is hard to replace any actor as long as they do great acting Philip was the most experienced of the disciples and first known evangelist in the bible
I agree with your opinion of the original Philip, Yoshi Barrigas. He was in my top three : ) I hope things turn out well for him. My eyes aren't drawn to the Reza Diako the way they were to Yoshi Barrigas, but of course he will be given grace. It's not easy to fill someone else's shoes.
It’s not fair to compare the 2 because Yoshi has had so many more scenes to develop his character.
That being said Yoshi was amazing in the part.
That's fair
Let’s give the guy a chance. Dallas and crew have done an amazing job casting the roles.
I think he is starting slowly so we couldn't feel the change. As you said it was a planned thing so we can adjust to it.
Omg!! No wonder i couldn't keep up with who was who cause the actors kept changing..
Poor Reza.
Not fair. I don’t like the comparisons it’s not fair it really isn’t. Let’s be happy we had Yoshi and now let’s be happy. We have Reza.
I like Reza 🤩 I’m sure he will have more chances to impact us with his performance in the next seasons, we needed this calmer Phillip appearances to get used to the change :D
Towards the end of Season 4, I started liking his calm demeanor as well
I miss him Dallas hired him for the part he was so kind Philp
But things change and we have no choice but to move on and welcome the NEW GUY and wish him well....I still love the chosen ❤️
❤️
Yoshi was so wonderful as Philip. He really did make a difference. Miss him in this role! I have a very hard time believing the new Philip because Yoshi made the character his own!! I'm glad I am not alone in thinking this!
When getting to know 12 dark haired black bearded men, their distinctive features set them apart after seeing them enough. Yoshi was easily set apart. I just finished season 4 and had no idea the new Philip wasn't just a random follower. I remember a scene when he spoke up and I had no idea who he was and wondered if I had missed something.
My gosh, give the guy a chance! Wow!!
The new Philip is doing excellent so leave it be. Everyone is on their own journey in life. He is a good actor and so is the new guy. God bless them all
They should have kept him, the original was a legend!
I am not into comparisons. It’s no different than comparing children. Everyone has different personalities and we just need to work with that.
The rest of the cast, none of them like His posts on Instagram since over a year ago. So something big happened and over by Yoshi
Some people just find things to complain about rather than focusing on the message. Sad
I loved Yoshi's rendition!!!!! I fell in love with his Phillip.
The new guy who plays Philip seems more like a stand-in. Because he barely had any lines when Philip was so impactful and the last season. 😂
Pray for Reza that he will be impacted by The Chosen and become a believer.🙏🏻 ✝️
Comparing one actor to another in the same role is fair. People do it all the times, e.g. actors playing Hamlet, Romeo, etc. The comparisons aren't personal, they're about a skill.
You people are something else . Why does he have to be like the other one ..come on man ..cha
God would not judge this man everyone is unique let him fill the role according to his talents and stop judging him
I believe it has to do with politics. It goes deep. I still watch it for the story itself, not the actors.
I REALLY miss Yoshi. He NAILED the role. He completely overshadowed the replacement.
