- Archbishop emeritus Desmond Tutu, the cleric and social activist who was a giant of the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, has died aged 90. Tutu, described by foreign observers and his countrymen as the moral conscience of his nation, died in Cape Town on Boxing Day. Excitable, emotional and charismatic, Tutu won the Nobel peace prize in 1984 and chaired the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), the controversial and emotional hearings into apartheid-era human rights abuses. As a firm atheist, and generally someone who's borderline anti religion, I have to say this was truly a great man, he's one of a very few religious people I've enjoyed watching and listening to. RIP you amazing person, not many people make such a difference to the world, you will be missed by so so many people.
A great man, an anchor for justice, a beacon for human rights. I know you will continue the fight on the other side. R.I.P.

Our world is poorer without him in it. I loved him. He was a hero.
This is a irepairable loss to whole world. Such a joyfull spirit is a hope to live on more than ever now. World is darker place BISHOP WITHOUT YOU.
There are not many men who deserve the epithet of great but humble Desmond Tutu is certainly one.
The whole world mourns with South Africa, we will all miss his wise counsel and his infectious laughter.
And his life will be forever celebrated in the future in brace scoring draws.
You will never be forgotten, u are forever an icon of peace, and your human rights record is intact. Thanks for saving South Africa from the jaws of apartheid monsters!

Não confunde o poder o que foi poder do Tutu e grande amor ao próximo além de poder religioso e sem dignidade.

Se Desmond Tutu últimamente queria o poder do Nelson Mandela e foi a razão que Nelson Mandla deixo a governação e como presidente da República da África do Sul,foi o incômodo do morto Bispo Desmond Tutu. E se ele viveu 90 anos de vida agradecer a Deus e não podemos reclamar,porque vcs que reclamam nem chegaram onde o morto TUtU chegou e conseguiu na sua vida ainda vivo. Deus disse: Isas:43.1

Notice how this doesn't mention Archbishop Desmond Tutu's deep and abiding support of the Palestinian people against the apartheid regime in Israel. He was one of the first supporters of BDS movement, boycotting, divesting and sanctioning Israel.
