The Most Terrifying MTB Trail I've Ridden...!! Far Too Many Close Calls!

- Hands down the most terrifying enduro MTB trail I've ridden... at least for a long time and in Scotland! I really didn't know if I'd make it! POV footage from a full run down the trail at local mountain bike hotspot, The Golfie, in Innerleithen, Scotland.
The trail - called Liver Damage - at it's steepest point drops 100m elevation within 200m of distance. Steepness probably doesn't come across on the GoPro!
The trail is called Liver Damage and was raced in the E-EWS in 2021 in some crazy wet conditions. The entrance is shared with another MTB trail called Spanner and splits off about a quarter of the way into the trail. Footage is filmed in POV to share a full run of the trail.
Mountain biking in Scotland has loads to offer from trail centre to steep tech like this... to even steeper ones and everything in between! This may not be the hardest trail I've ridden (as sloppy trails with roots can be just as bad!) but it's definitely up there with the scariest! That feeling of not being able to stop even on the brakes and make the mad tight corners is tough!

Superb riding Laura, that trail looks mental! Those crazy steep tight turns with big rooty step downs would have me in hospital.🤣🤣🤣. Great video.👌😁🤙🤙

Hell yeah! Nice job. I keep meaning to head to the Golfie for a day oot but always end up riding more local places like Braefoot, Philpstoun Bings etc. Defo checking it out after this!

Cheers! Yeah golfie is amazing. So many trails on one hill and pretty long. Braefoot looks super. Heard loads about it and nice to have jumps to ride!

The steepness of the trail come through on the video.......
I particularly liked the sound effects and commentary, which emphasised the gradient, when it got really steep!

Haha I can relate to the commentary, recently rode some of the steepest trails I've ever ridden and my commentary was the same, thing is, my gopro wasn't switched on 🙄😄 Respect to you 👍👏

Great riding, I've watched a few video's of people riding this trail and you rode it the best, I hope one day I will be able to ride as good as you, although at 52 I think my skills are going the other way.

Ah I know which one you mean. That’s the hope brakes and is pretty normal especially with all the dirt and water that gets in them on the trails here

Laura, I loved this, and absolute Kudos to you. 👋 I was watching your video side by side with one my lad made back in 2017. We'd been riding for 3 years, he was 15, I was 52!!, and he though this was a great idea! 🤣 And after this he took me over to Prospacker!! 😆 (I thought it was harder, but we cleaned them both, just). 'steeps' start on yours at 3:19, on his it's 1:51. I laughed at the 'commentaries'. Brilliant. 😀

Thanks! Haha this sounds very much like my first experience! Probably hit it in 2017 for the first time after about 3 years riding too. Same with prospacker - I’ve been wanting to go back and check that one out again! I remember it also being crazy! I’ll need to have a watch and see his run of this one. Well done getting down them both, they surely must be up there in the top few hardest ones in the valley!

It is, it’s built well as most of the corners do catch you but it’s a tough one!
