With 2 bad knees and a bad back, I can't reach things deeper in on the bottom store shelves because I can't bend down well enough, so I sometimes need low help too. I will occasionally approach a tall person in a friendly manner and ask to borrow their height to reach high things. I have also done my own share of helping others. Helping people tends to make the helper feel good, so most people are willing to be helpful within their capabilities. However, if someone who needs help is being a nasty Karen or Kevin, it turns off the urge to be helpful in other people. Being polite and civil is like using a magic super power.😄
The medical bags is such a god send for me. A lot of them do have my medical equipment in them but I am able to protect my kit with extra clothes which means I have some extra bits plus I'm able to take my regular hospital bag with me so even abroad I have the things to give me comfort if I end up in hospital
How do you request the medical bags and what is needed? I'm blown away by this...with various pieces of equipment and breathing tools, I've had to pay $60 at the gates!
I get wheelchair assistance at airports and my biggest tip is ALSO to be kind. I saw another woman that was on my flight that also got wheelchair assistance and she was SO nasty to the attendant. All that ended up happening was that I got to my gate on time through shortcuts and the attendant helped me stop at one of the shops to get a lil snack and a drink… the other woman got to the gate 15 minutes before boarding because she “knew the way” which was actually longer so they couldn’t stop to get anything.
I always use the assistance service and always really polite. I used to travel a lot with Girlguiding so in uniform. We got to go in the cockpit full plane tour (using the isle chair) and a great laugh with all the crew. The captain just told don’t tell the rest of the passengers about the hole.
so glad your wheelchair made it! that can be a big problem down the line, some people back a backup bc airlines are terrible about refunding broken wheelchairs
Being in a wheelchair for a majority of my life and traveling a lot, ive never known about the medical bags. I typically don't check my bags because i dont like my medical supplies being in cargo, but this is good to know for the future!
Wow wow and wow why would this be your it's so good to see people with medical who keep themselves pushing forward also to the information I'm almost sure would be so helpful to others you're such a nice guy ❤😊

It's actually so cool seeing videos filmed in places you've been before. I was at the Denver airport for a little while in March when my flight back to california from DC had to stop to get more fuel.
I got that hand swab at Denver coming home after trying to move there. My tire popped and I had to change it. I got taken into a room and interrogated and strip searched. They swabbed everything in my bag because I had “suspicious residue” on my hands. Keep it up bro! You’re an inspiration!
Why Delta over AA or United? Just curious bc for future flights, joint comfort and strech space will be essential. But never flown in that category so have no idea what's best.
Great tips thanks for sharing. I'm a wheelchair user, haven't been on a flight for years, now I know what to do when I do take a flight again. Cheers buddy 👍
Also, NEVER let them put your wheelchair in cargo. Always ask for the wheelchair closet on board. If they try to tell you it has a stroller or bags in it don't give in, it's a crime to store non-wheelchair items in the specific wheelchair area on a place. Being nice is important, but don't be a pushover. A disability rights activist, Engracia Figueroa, died because airplane cargo workers destroyed her expensive custom powerchair. The chair they replaced it with temporarily gave her a pressure sore that got infected and killed her.
You don't know what the stroller is for. It could be for a special neees stroller for a 14 year old kid that's special needs (has severe cerebal palsy, Moyamoya disease (babies and young children have strokes). Strollers are easier for parents to push than a wheelchair. The handles are higher up for the parents. If it's for a 9 month old, I agree it shouldn't be in the closet specifically for wheelchairs.
Using your disability liké a weeping sore is ingracious and selfish. Many people like myself have disabilities that are just not apparent to the onlooker. Taking umpteen bags as medical is just low also. Abuse means eventually no help for anyone and pricier fares. Think a little outside your bubble.
My wheelchair manage Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, US, U.K plus more but was written off my Charles DeGalle forcing me to use their chair between flights and throwing it in the baggage compartment on the 2nd flight then Helsinki put it on the baggage carousel. They bent it back semi usable but it was a hard 2 weeks and then a write off when home. Never again.
@@MsMesemanyone with a medical or physical disability can take extra free. If it’s medical supplies you sometimes need a dr /hospital letter but if you use a travel agent they will sort it in advance. It’s not just wheelchair users. If it’s vital meds they often say keep it on you.
@@MsMesem I hate to break this to you, but the people who are more severely disabled than you happen to need more accommodations. I got to be in priority boarding (boarding is always rlly overwhelming for me), I hung out with the other wheelchair users and they were absolutely hilarious. My sister asked me how many bags she could bring on the flight. I said I have no idea, because I've just always brought as many bags as I want, and the airline just lets me take them all for no extra charge. She was shocked. I love the free medical bag hack!
The few times Ive flown were difficult to say the least. I had dyed hair, and a Totoro hoodie, the front sewn patterns were mistaken as pockets so I was pulled off to the side for a pat down. ( Im high functioning autistic) so beliving that I was in trouble I just froze up, while my mom was trying to explain why I wasnt exactly "Complying" After getting patted down they took swabs of my hands for "explosive residue" and it came back positive, because I was scratching at my recently dyed hair leaving the residue on my hands. Afterwards they dumped my bag out onto a table and went through everything, leaving all my mediciations out in the open on this metal table in the middle of the security screening. Thankfully another TSA person came along, took over the screening and she was really nice. She even had her friend come and help put my bag back to how it was (I sort things a specific way in my bag and panic when its not put back properly) The women I think had a family member who is also autistic so she understood why I was being "weird" and even tried telling jokes. I had junior mints in ny bag and she held them up and said she'll have to confiscate them, which I told her she could have them xD They both apologized for the embarrassment of having my personal items just strewn across the table. I hope they both know that Im thankfull for their help while I was kinda shutting down during the screening.
Dude so sorry this happened Idk why but I've had nothing but good experiences with TSA considering I'm ADHD/possible autistic, I even got a free pass through priority line to get in and saved a gruelling 1 hour wait because I was happy stimming and the lady loved me haha
I always come back for narcotics as I’m on medical prescribed fentanyl. I carry a drs a letter for some that’s ok others do the search. Worst was when they took my calliper boots, braces, crutches and splints then asked me to stand. The medical assistant said can you stand I said no she was no chance there’s a reasons she wears them hand them back and she will stand for the wheelchair check. They handed me them back but said I didn’t need to stand. It was the 2nd shoe check and as we were moving terminal again she picked up a tray and said just put in save the struggle taking them off. At that security they asked why we came with tray with boots etc she said to save time. They were shocked about the previous and let me go into a private area and helped me put them all back on properly whilst chatting.
The items being taken out and put on the table for everyone to see...yep been there. I don't know why any worker would do that considering they literally have xray screening machines. Smh very embarrassing.
My mom's experience as a wheelchair user has been "Sorry, did you expect to be treated like a human?" no matter how nice she is. And really, it shouldn't matter if you're a ray of sunshine or not.
True, like you have to kiss people's a** for them to do their jobs and like you asked to be in the situation that requires help. Kindness is cool, but workers do need to do their jobs for everyone.
The Denver airport was the goofiest experience for me when I was moving almost a year ago. I kept thinking, “What? How? Where am I?” I got lost multiple times since I was alone and it’s hard for me to pay attention to signs. I also think I met my soulmate there and never got his name 🤣 I apologize for my story since no one asked for it, but I’m so happy that you were treated with kindness. That’s what keeps all of us grounded.
Wild, I just visited Denver with my GF and thought that airport looked familiar! We had a pretty good experience there, the wheelchair handler was friendly and helpful and we didnt have too much trouble with security (though it didn't go quite as smoothly as yours). Much better than my local airport!
Being a nice person has gotten me a lot of free things not gonna lie, and I didn't even try, I'm just a nice person to others especially when their working (who the heck is happy working, standing and 8 hours)
I find it so shameful that as a society, we continually have to remind each other that kindness is the RIGHT and best way in most every situation. Even more shameful that it's those that are struggling with injury, illness, mental health- whatever, that have to be the ones to remind those that already have SO MUCH MORE to just simply BE KIND. I'm glad you had a good flying experience. My anxiety on top of the weird pressurized cabin pain exacerbation just don't allow it for me. (I was injured in a tight space, so the anxiety jacks up to 100 in any tight or close spaces with strangers.) Many people with spinal/spinal cord injury tell me that the pressurized cabin does wonders for their pain, so it's possible that the anxiety takes it up. I worked hard to get it all back physically, but the mental trauma is a bit more daunting for me still, & creeps back in when I'm not paying attention or am somewhere I can't easily escape if necessary. Keep that gorgeous smile and good, compassionate heart. They both will light up any space you're in. ❤
I’ve gotten many upgrades because I’m always very nice to the airport personnel. They’re so used to people being grumpy sometimes that when they meet a nice person, they’ll go out of their way to help u😊

The women I think had a family member who is also autistic so she understood why I was being "weird" and even tried telling jokes.
I had junior mints in ny bag and she held them up and said she'll have to confiscate them, which I told her she could have them xD
They both apologized for the embarrassment of having my personal items just strewn across the table. I hope they both know that Im thankfull for their help while I was kinda shutting down during the screening.
Dude so sorry this happened
Idk why but I've had nothing but good experiences with TSA considering I'm ADHD/possible autistic, I even got a free pass through priority line to get in and saved a gruelling 1 hour wait because I was happy stimming and the lady loved me haha
Why does hair dye have the same residue as explosives?
The items being taken out and put on the table for everyone to see...yep been there. I don't know why any worker would do that considering they literally have xray screening machines. Smh very embarrassing.
I'm paralyzed, I'm handicap from my waist down since birth, I love that thing attached to your chair it's so cool
It never ceases to amaze me how far a smile and a k I nd word will take you.
Your awesome young man! Keep making videos! ❤❤❤
Awesome young man.
The Denver airport was the goofiest experience for me when I was moving almost a year ago. I kept thinking, “What? How? Where am I?”
I got lost multiple times since I was alone and it’s hard for me to pay attention to signs. I also think I met my soulmate there and never got his name 🤣
I apologize for my story since no one asked for it, but I’m so happy that you were treated with kindness.
Knew that was Denver right away 😂
I love the tips so much I am going to saw off my legs just to reap the benefits of them!!! So worth it!
Great tips! Thank you. I've been struggling for years...
thats so good that you're educating people with your videos brother keep going i wish the best for you ❤
Ice and unlimited # of med. bags! Great hacks I didn’t know! Thx!!🎉
That bike attachment is awesome!
Your firefly is amazing!!❤
Yes I’m so nice I get everything I want when I fly including a seat with open leg space!
I’ve gotten many upgrades because I’m always very nice to the airport personnel. They’re so used to people being grumpy sometimes that when they meet a nice person, they’ll go out of their way to help u😊
Being nice is always best👍
I like your content a lot, you seem like a genuine good person.
And somehow you remind me of Ace from One Piece or Sabo.
Bro! I absolutely love your videos and wish I could express to you how impactful you are to the world. I really want to know what you’re major is in college. I am literally addicted to your reels right now, such a great attitude and very humbling to myself and all my endeavors. Love that wheel chair 💺
This young man is so handsome and a smile from heaven.
Some day a lady is gonna catch him. !💕❤
I never knew about medical bags flying free! I have an invisible disability and have to travel with several pieces of equipment and supplies that take up half my bag making it impossible for me to travel with just a carry on and I’m ALWAYS paying for luggage.
This is a game changer!!!!
Sometimes you need a drs letter. I just let the travel agents know expected amount extra.
@@Trilobite06So you do this with the Dr. note when you get to the airport right? I've also prepaid for bags, but sometimes they are $60+ extra and it is supplies I need!
I seen the train and knew this was Denver… Happy travels 😊
You are one brave guy
You got the hook up! Good people!
We just had the flight attendant you showed at the end who said “see you later aligator” on our flight to New York last week 😂
