Join Kelsie and Madu from our manufacturing team as they show us how Brazilliant gets made. Madu peels whole, fresh #oranges and blends them by hand. FaithMoonProductions All work is going to have some factors which can make someone feel less than 100% happy all the time. The world isn't like that, where you can find a job where everything is fun and fancy free only.

You would have to learn proper recipes and amounts to use. Understand the products and how to safely make them. May have to work with people you do not get a long with and meet the strict deadlines of a major company such as lush. Factory hours are also not something many appreciate, the people in the video are most likely considered brand reps rather than the typical worker that’d be in the facility

I adore Lush. I'm an avid user of the fresh facial masks.
Unfortunately I will never be able to use the shampoos or shampoo bars because the main ingredient is SLS/ALS/SAS. It results in cosmetic acne on my face and upper body and causes a significant amount of TEWL in my skin.
I do so wish they would switch to APGs. All my skincare is sulfate free.
And as far as I know, both foaming agents, SLS and APG, are made almost exclusively from palm oil.

I wrote to Lush about fifteen years ago asking if they were planning to reduce the parabens in their products. The reply I got said that if I didn't like it I didn't have to buy it. So I don't.

I love how they make life simpler. i bring my shampoo bars on planes and travel with no problems. I love it! also mostly everything is healthier. i just love everything about the store and what they have. love love love getting anything there
These shampoo bars are the best. I'm not using anything else nowadays. Last amazingly long, so small and practical, AND they also make an excellent washing detergent when I'm travelling.
I often buy hair soap on the local market as well. Works wonderfully, and is far older than shampoo. How did we ever end up with liquid shampoo in the first place?

From why I've heard they sometimes get staff boxes with a bunch of free products, they can take free samples, and they get a 50% of discount :).
Yeah we do which is really nice but we don't get to choose. A lot of the items get damaged by getting handled in the shop or during shipment so it is no longer presentable (cracked, opened, melted, etc). Lush really wants their employees to try out a good majority of the products to know how they work so we know what to tell our lovely customers :)

Though currently the Brazilliant bar isn't on their website here is something to compare it to. These are the ingredients of their coconut rice cake shampoo bar:
Sodium Coco-Sulfate , Stearic Acid (Stearic acid) , Water (Aqua) , White Rice (Oryza Sativa) , Fragrance , Glycerl Stearate & Peg - 100 Stearate (Globe Amaranth (Gomphrena globosa)) , Organic Coconut Milk , Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Cocamidopropyl Betaine , Soya Lecithin , Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides) , Creamed Coconut (Cocos nucifera) , Titanium Dioxide , Propylene Glycol , Red 27 , Red 4 , Red 33 , Yellow Rose Petals .
*Occurs naturally in essential oils.

I’ve been making skincare products for years and I’ve always known to not use actual food.
Someone enlighten me on this if you know how they are preserving their products that include “food”

most of that includes citric acid, oils and salt, that ingredients preserve by natural the products (I dunno speak english I wish you may understand)
I love this shampoo bar, the smell last for days in your hair and it's not overpowering at all. I did notice that my hair was a bit less frizzy and super soft after using this one. I combined this with R&B and it made even more of a difference for me.Everyone should switch to shampoo bars, great smelling and the lather you get from these is ridiculous.

you can go onto the lush cosmetics website or buy them in any lush store. they have a huge range but I would recommend the honey I washed my hair shampoo bar!!
The detergent they use in it is SLS and is actually really bad and stripping for curly or thick hair. You should probably opt for a sulphate and paraben free alternative

They don't tell you this part but they use sulphates in all their shampoos, including this one, and parabens in most.
For those who don't know, sulphates are the detergents that commercial companies use in your hair products to clean the grease and oils out. What they DONT tell you about these sulphates is that they can be very drying and irritating to the scalp, especially if you have curly or thick hair. I will never again buy a shampoo from lush knowing that even in their shampoo for curly hair they use chemical compounds and detergents that are not all that friendly to your hair. READ THE LABELS IF YOU GENUINELY CARE ABOUT YOUR HAIR GUYS
Some of these components are also bad for the environment. Even if they're biodegradable, they can have high environmental/aquatic toxicity levels.
Why don't you do actual research if you genuinely care about your hair? Sulfates exist as Sodium Lauryl or Laureth sulfate. These have been proven not to cause damage when used properly. Unless you use a high concentration and leave it there for a long time, your hair will be fine. The SLS is what makes shampoo, shampoo.
If you ever use anything with plant extracts or essential oils in your hair, those are far more damaging and allergenic to your hair and scalp!
People who spread misinformation and fearmongering about SLS and parabens are just digsusting people.
Love this shampoo bar works wonders with my strange mix of fluffy, wavy, straight hair.Gives it a nice shine and keeps it soft.

Once again they just bypass over SLS.....I've watched multiple of the "How its Made" videos now and they usually emphasize the natural ingredients then just breeze over the "safe" synthetics and all the sulfates their packed with...usually referring to it in the video as " and then we mix it all together" or "then we add it to the base". Disappointing that they're still using sulphates in their products

Yeah for sure. Why don’t they use slsa instead? It’s an alternative that is derived from coconut oil and palm oil.

I love traveling with a shampoo bar, it takes up so much less space in my suitcase and I don't have to worry about shampoo spilling and soaking the rest of my items. :)

Lush PLEASE make more watermelon scented products. I understand that since you use fresh ingredients, a watermelon scent is hard to make because watermelon doesn't have a strong scent, but the LIfe`s a Beach (Australian version ) is absolutely beautiful when it comes to smell. I would love to see a watermelon scented shower gel

Reminds me of something my mom told me. She said that during her time they used mangosteen skins as shampoo (and it worked well). I guess that's kinda like a shampoo bar :p on the other note, I like the guy! He looks so energetic and happy to be there.

There is no transparancy. They're only displaying the natural ingredients they are proud of, but there's a myriad of other ingredients in there such as sulphates that aren't being shown at all

When in a Lush store I was told most of the products have a somewhat short life span, as they are so fresh, does this mean I have to go through the "equivalent to three medium bottles of shampoo" in a matter of weeks to use up the product before expiring?
Please put a Lush in Grand Junction, Colorado! It's the biggest city between Salt Lake City, Utah and Denver, Colorado which are both 5 hours away! The people in Grand Junction are OBSESSED with fresh, organic, vegan products and there are plenty of people here as well, it would be the perfect place! It's so hard to make it all the way to Denver I can only go maybe once a year, never in the winter but I love Lush so much! Please consider putting a store here.
