I also doubt the Tories will be able to indefinitely avoid calling an early GE given Sunak's first week hasn't really been a whole lot better than Truss' even just from an optics standpoint (if there's one thing we can thank Suella Braverman for, it's that she appears to have the power to automatically poison any cabinet she's a part of) and the Tory members made it clear at the last leadership contest that they don't really want him as PM anyway; I don't think that opinion has changed much. One way or another, with all their various failings from the past 12 years finally catching up with them, I'm fairly certain the Tories are now screwed.
