Freddie and Montserrat truly appreciated each-other, not only as musicians but as humans, too. Both of them had the same, little bit sarcastic humor, they were workaholics and they found joy and fun in this collaborattion.
Gracias por tu reacción, saludos desde Madrid, ellos eran muy amigos, se respetaban, se querían, se tenían mucha admiración mutua, y consiguieron maravillas como este tema, dos eternas leyendas para siempre. Espero te mejores .
Montserrat encouraged Freddie to explore his natural baritone. Freddie was a huge opera fan and was in awe of her. He hoped to do one track with her. It was Montserrat who suggested doing a whole album. They genuinely admired each other and there is something unique about their tone together.
Freddie was not a baritone. If you are used to hearing opera voices you would never think that Freddie was a baritone. Caballe was used to her own voice and style of singing, female and male opera singers have to sing very differently that is why she did not understand that he is tenor.
another good reaction of a great show, Freddie & Montserrat. Really, both were happy in this performance. Years later, in an interview, Montserrat explained that the year she worked on this project with Freddie was one of the happiest of her life. She explained that she was used to the rigor of opera and technique, and with Freddie she learned that on stage you could also do whatever you wanted, without any ties. In this performance you can clearly see how Freddie explores his baritone side and Montserrat explores improvisation, with a magnificent result. Thank you for this reaction
Obviously and understandably a new concept for your music appreciation consideration I'm thinking . . . I like Opera and love Queen and Freddie Mercury music, thus this creative offering is simply fantastically appreciated.
Once again, two wonderful souls, with great friendship, that cross Rock & Opera together to form a superb song. Your comments about their voices in certain parts of the performance, was most constructive & welcome. There are some wonderful performances of Montserrat Caballe, on TH-cam you might won't to check them out, for future blogs. Keep well. ❤

Freddie could sing anything he wanted, and he did! Magnificently!
