Greg Byrne asked Alabama fans to 'fight back' in the NIL wars. How bad is it really?

How about you take the $500K salary from Saban (who clearly doesn’t need it) instead of begging from all the Alabama fans? I graduated from Alabama and you won’t find a bigger fan than me but I refuse to give money to pay entitled players so they can leave the following year if their feelings get hurt. If they ever start holding these children accountable, then I might consider donating.

Over the last 20 season's, the Alabama Athletic Dept has made Millions upon Millions of dollars, I don't want to hear it.

Every university is doing this. Tennessee is raising ticket prices and charging “talent” fees at games.

@ Whatever helps you sleep at night bro. Enjoy your overpriced tickets just to watch a team that hasn’t been relevant since 1997 lol.

Fan empowerment is refusing to participate in this BS until it gets fixed.

Ohio State has done this exact thing. Tennessee has stated they are raising ticket prices to pay for this. Dont believe this says anything about Bama tbh. Think it's a general statement every team can put out

They better keep the fans in mind. What’s college football without us. Were getting uninvited in it.

I received Byrne’s email yesterday and was highly offended. Why should I pay for 9-3, a no name bowl, amateur-ish coaching, and two embarrassing butt whoppings by Vandy and Oklahoma? Other teams that have enjoyed much less success than Bama have seemingly ruled the NIL wars without so much as sniffing an SEC CHAMPIONSHIP OR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Byrne needs to have a heart to heart with DeBoer and his crew and fix the mess they have already made of Coach Saban’s program and get it together before you ask for handouts.

Soon there will be a few competitive teams. Most colleges can't compete with big money.

I can understand paying the players, but these are 19 year old kids...the ncaa screwed up by not making a large percentage of the pay got into a trust until these young men graduate college!!!

Considering the amount of enrollment boosts that the school has seen since Saban took over almost 20 years ago, you’d think the school makes plenty of money. Certainly when you consider all of the multimillionaire alumnus that Saban helped create, and all of the outside investment from companies. You’d think they would have plenty of money to be as competitive as anyone could be with the revenue sharing model, and in having companies that want to work with the players on actual NIL deals outside of the school, because they are Alabama players.

It has leveled the playing field. It’s devalued. College sports and made million dollar brats. No understanding of the value of a dollar. Parents pimpin their kids out to the highest bidder…
