@@jackschadek3562 ok so cuz he had a bad take of taking navy over notre dame that means notre dame is gonna destroy Indiana and Joel just hates them? Lol
Joel is a casual if he thinks ND defense isn’t elite. Further, IU has yet to face a good rushing team (Osu is not, as they have yet to show, besides a bad Oregon defense that they can run the ball)
Tennessee played 0 top 30 rush offenses, and only 1 top 30 rush defense, so the validity of their numbers in those categories hasn’t been tested much. You can say what you want about Ohio State’s offensive line, but they played 6 top 30 rush defenses.
Klatt, I hope you give an honest apology for being wrong about ND-IU since you refused to acknowledge picking Navy to beat ND after they went on to get completely embarrassed
@ the implication is that he would do so after ND wins. He picked Navy to beat ND outright and look how that went. This take is nothing more than doubling down on his defense of IU when OSU manhandled them
I don’t know that Joel has actually watched all the ND games this year. Could be wrong but the sense I get from listening to his breakdowns. He watches a ton of BIG film as FOX analyst and know Indy well. The only BIG team Indy played with a winning conf record other than OSU was Mich so hard to get a good sample size of tough opponents to judge them against IMO.
Most of those picks are very reasonable. EXCEPT Indiana beating ND. I can't see that happening. ND is a really good team IMO. I can even see them beating Georgia if Beck is out.
Klatt picks ND to take the outright loss, and has his beloved Big Ten going 3-0 in the first round and winning the title. Just SHOCKED by all of those takes.
IU had a 151 yards of total offense against OSU. What game was everyone watching? IU did not move the ball outside of their first drive and then it was 48 minutes of getting pushed around on both sides of the ball.
Starting to realize a lot of Joel’s takes are all based off of specific, singular games in the past (mainly ones he’s called at fox) and not the actual matchups or film
I get his critique of Ewers but honestly Georgia in the SEC CG didn't really take anything away. Texas just dropped passes and missed fgs. The main issue with Ewers is batted balls at the LOS.
Klatt, enjoyed your thoughts but your Big Ten bias is showing badly. IU will get rolled by ND. Their offense was totally stymied by OSU and Michigan…they’re not scoring 35 at ND. Plus, I think the Vols will be very competitive - that’s a coin flip to me.
If Oregon wins the national championship, they will have beaten the Mountain West champ, then gone undefeated in the Big 10 --beating Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin --and then beaten the top 2 teams in the SEC, winning "neutral site" games against Texas in Dallas and Georgia in Atlanta. No one has ever played a schedule like that before. No one will be able to deny that they deserve to be the champions.
Tennessee has an opportunity to do something even funnier than Michigan… force OSU to lose back to back games at home against a lesser opponent… in the first round of the playoffs.😂
That opportunity exists, but to all the seniors in Columbus, who managed to get lucky enough to get one extra home game in their last year of eligibility, there exists an opportunity to play the game of their lives, and I hope that Day has that class of graduating seniors fired up. Sko, Buckeyes🌰🌰🌰
Funny how 80% or so think Tennessee will win. And when they lose no one will apologize to the sane minds that picked the best roster of the last 4 years to win a game
Gotta agree with you on the Ohio State vs Tennessee game Joel. The more I’ve delved into the matchups and performances, the more I’m confident that Ohio State covers. All they have to do is play their game and not Tennessee’s game. If they really open up their offense - which they haven’t at all this season - I see a 2 score win.
The thing is that you need a quarterback that throws the ball well. We saw against Michigan, in which they did throw the ball, that it gets picked off easy because of bad throws. Tennessee’s secondary is good enough to replicate that. We will see what Chip will do then, run the ball (like against Michigan) or keep throwing it (and possibly throw more)
@ Howard had 1 bad game all season, and it was Michigan. When you’re putting him in 3rd and 7 every set of downs, of course he’s going to make mistakes. Let’s not act like Howard is some scrub- he was the second rated passer in the country going into the UM game. He made a few mistakes throughout the season, but outside of the Michigan game, he always made up for it with a big play at a crucial moment.
Stats need to be put in context. What people don't undestand about the SOS between ND and IU is that SOS is just an average. Indiana got to that average with 1 great team (OSU) and a bunch of really bad teams. They only played two teams with a winning record. ND got there by playing mostly solid bowl teams (8 total) and a few stinkers. The average SOS is about the same, but here's the difference: blowing out terrible teams (IU) is not the same as blowing out solid bowl-eligible teams (ND). In the same way, ND's pass defense is a little inflated by playing Army and Navy, who don't pass. IU's run defense is inflated because outside of UM and OSU, they haven't played a team with a run offence ranked above 60th in the country. Stats are fine, but you need to put them in context.
33:05 thank youuuuu finally someone said been hearing non stop about film breakdown on just what Ohio st did against Michigan, like there are 11 other games and there’s history to prove that Ohio st has a problem with Michigan but it’s not the same in general to all games played
Easiest way to fix the playoff is keep the conference title auto bid, but just seed based off SOS and SOV, ect. Boise, ASU would still be in just not getting a bye.
How disingenuous! They have to work to scheme guys open? I'm sorry, Sark is a master at scheming guys open. Way to poison the well Klatt to make it seem as if Texas is inept on offense. Ewers had 350 yards against Georgia on a bum ankle, with his wideouts dropping 5 or 6 balls, including a TD. (Without his Outland trophy AA LT) What are you even talking about, Georgia's front is a bad matchup for Texas, Clemson is not Georgia up front, so your logic is flawed from the jump. If you were really good at your job, you would have found a comparable front and see how Texas did, but this junk is easier, I get it.
I haven't watched this yet and already know Klatt took all the Big 10 teams or maybe in Indiana's case just put them over as actually being good again 🙄 lol
Joel, you don't need to throw 40 times when you're up by multiple TDs and you're leading and running the ball to eat clock. ND made plenty of big plays in the passing game. NDs Oline has gotten continually better as the season wore on. If they establish dominance, game over.
I'm not a Notre Dame fan there have been a lot of games this year where Riley Leonard has through for 150 plus yards in the first half. And then Notre Dame just ran the ball the entire second half because they were way ahead.
@IAmAMeateater I'm a Duke fan. And he had a lot of 300 plus passing yard games for us. So maybe it's more of a Notre Dame thing than a Riley leonard thing
The Buckeyes got the best draw in the first round; their likelihood of a win comes down to the quality of coaching in Ryan Day and Chip Kelly. Strategic blunders will be their undoing.
"Do you think those two guys wouldn't have learned their lesson?" It wasn't a lesson that needed to be learned. If they didn't know they were running behind backup lineup against the top 2 defenders in the conference, I don't have faith they learned anything. I know not to stick a fork in my eye. I don't need to learn from it.
Joel you are a big 10 homer. I like your show except for your big 10 bias. ND wins by 10 or more. Bottom line Indiana has played no rushing attack in the top 50. ND has played 7 teams ranked top 50 in rushing. Put your money on uncle Al’s defense.
@@whatahitson272 Thanks! Not like 2:1 underdogs don't come through once in a while. I think they have a shot and it seems like good value to me. Good luck. Have fun. Should be a good game.
Joel, Love the show. Your take on the White Out is just wrong though. It is traditionally a night game. I would rather keep tradition and play against a lesser opponent than just have it against the best team. The playoff situation is different. There are 4 home playoff games a year, This could be the only time Penn State ever gets a Home Playoff game is changes are made to the current CFP model. WE ARE
Excellent video! Keep the playoffs at 12 teams, I hope they don't ever extend it to 16 teams or more. 12 might be too many, 16 would be way too many teams.
Indiana had 151 total yards vs OSU. 2 bad special teams plays didn't decide the game. OSU also had 3 linemen out going into the game and lost another in the Indiana game. Irish go for 200+ on the ground and 200+ in the air.
@punav7449 air yards depend on the weather. If conditions don't impede passing too much, they'll do 200. Tight ends alone might have 100. All 3 they play are over 6'6"... how tall are your backers again? Screens and check downs will get another 50. The Irish pass game was a mess at the beginning of the year. Largely due to inexperienced o line and a QB transfer coming off injury and no spring. They've gotten significantly better through the year. Leonard was on pace for 300 a couple of times, but game flow had backups in early. Unless Indiana jumps out to a big lead with turnovers or something that has the Irish trying to catch up, they'll hit 200. Love's health is a bit of a question that can affect that total. Even if he isn't 100%, Price will eat. Williams is a very capable 3rd down guy also. Particularly in the pass game.

@@jackschadek3562 ok so cuz he had a bad take of taking navy over notre dame that means notre dame is gonna destroy Indiana and Joel just hates them? Lol
Absolutely right the Bucks need to spread offense , quick snaps and play action screens and power sweeps plus a few traps
In this crazy world, your commentary is a voice of sanity. Thank you.
Hey how's your ND predictions against the spread going this season?
Sent to a friend!
13:03 I thought my audio went out during this one 😭😭😭
Joel is a casual if he thinks ND defense isn’t elite. Further, IU has yet to face a good rushing team (Osu is not, as they have yet to show, besides a bad Oregon defense that they can run the ball)
You have been knocking Notre Dame all year. They will dominate.
Agree Joel as a Texas fan biggest liability is their quarterback full stop! To many mistakes at the worst times!!!
Tennessee played 0 top 30 rush offenses, and only 1 top 30 rush defense, so the validity of their numbers in those categories hasn’t been tested much. You can say what you want about Ohio State’s offensive line, but they played 6 top 30 rush defenses.
Ohio state played two games that could potentially lose all year beating up on super weak big 10 teams. I would say their stats are skewed as well...
It’s pretty clear to see the one side of the bracket are way better then the right side
It's always good when he picks against ND cause he is never right. He loves his big ten teams
Klatt, I hope you give an honest apology for being wrong about ND-IU since you refused to acknowledge picking Navy to beat ND after they went on to get completely embarrassed
He needs to apologize for having an opinion?
Why they’re just picks ….. you’re not going to be right every game
ND will get smacked when it counts like they always do
I’m not sure klatt has watched a Notre Dame game since Texas AM
Saving this for after the game Friday…
Smu played against Clemson in 29 degree weather. I was at game and it was freezing with crazy wind blowing as well
Ewers is like a statue back there, I think Texas would’ve won if Arch played against Georgia.
So, you're saying that Sarkisian doesn't have enough sense to play the QB that gives them the best chance to win?
@@CalebTrask Yes
@@CalebTraskhe does but he feels as if he owes this to Quinn and doesn’t want to hurt his feelings lol
Didn’t you pick Navy to beat ND? It’s going to be 18 degrees with a 25 mph wind. Tell me again about the passing attack?
Starting to realize a lot of Joel’s takes are all based off of specific, singular games in the past (mainly ones he’s called at fox) and not the actual matchups or film
You should use the Nebraska game as reference. Struggled at home, stour up the middle. Their best 2 and most important offense linemen are out.
No good reason to assume Indiana will be able to shut down Notre Dame's rushing attack. Indiana's best shot is to win a shoot-out.
I get his critique of Ewers but honestly Georgia in the SEC CG didn't really take anything away. Texas just dropped passes and missed fgs. The main issue with Ewers is batted balls at the LOS.
The passive aggressive jabs at OSU and PSU regarding scheduling on Fox are kinda classless.
I’m rooting for OSU for this week, hoping that it’s enough for Ryan day to stay at least another year
Boy, I hope you are wrong.
Njoy our indoor plumbing....📣🅾️.H
If they win I hope they plant a Michigan flag. Just for lol's
Your logic in taking IU is based on the USC game? Good luck with that.
Funny how 80% or so think Tennessee will win. And when they lose no one will apologize to the sane minds that picked the best roster of the last 4 years to win a game
Ohio state has been horrific lately in big games
Just out of curiosity, when does the “dawn of the golden age of college football” just become “the golden age of college football”?
This wanting to validate that Indiana should be in is hilarious I think when ND blows them out we’ll put that to rest
Awesome how Joel thinks he's not ruining the environment of CFB with big noon kickoff
Tell me you haven't watched ND this without telling me. Leonard has 2 td passing in 4 of his last 6 games.
Why not have an actual playoff? This is an invitational, the qualifying criteria is based on subjective opinion.
Notre Dame's O-line is in a much better position than Ohio State was. I would take the over, ND by 15.
LOL yeah right 😂😂😂😂.
@IAmAMeateater nice rebuttal
Whiteout at noon just isn’t the same Klatt and you know it brotha
Joel, you don't need to throw 40 times when you're up by multiple TDs and you're leading and running the ball to eat clock. ND made plenty of big plays in the passing game. NDs Oline has gotten continually better as the season wore on. If they establish dominance, game over.
Ohio State also left at least 2 TDs on the field, maybe 3. They could have easily hung 50 on them.
Getting stuffed and picked is not leaving points on the field. If that’s what you’re referring to
@ I don’t believe that you watched the game.
@@Labhran ok, I guess you were referring to something else. Good argument
I'm not a Notre Dame fan there have been a lot of games this year where Riley Leonard has through for 150 plus yards in the first half. And then Notre Dame just ran the ball the entire second half because they were way ahead.
Context to stats? What? No way, just read the numbers and don't watch the games!
Okay, so what? He’s barely able to throw against NOBODY teams. He’s gonna be the reason they don’t win 2 days, if even 1, playoff games. Typical ND
@IAmAMeateater I'm a Duke fan. And he had a lot of 300 plus passing yard games for us. So maybe it's more of a Notre Dame thing than a Riley leonard thing
Yeah I think Riley has looked great since niu
QB Coach Sunseri is still coaching this game for IU.
The Buckeyes got the best draw in the first round; their likelihood of a win comes down to the quality of coaching in Ryan Day and Chip Kelly. Strategic blunders will be their undoing.
People talking about the quarterback battle like Texas isn’t about to run for 300 on Clemson
Wow watching a joel klatt show where the big ten isn't the only thing he is discussing
The Indiana Ohio state games is the the Very definition of getting taken out back of the woodshed beating !
Joel’s greatest fear is an all SEC championship
not shocked klatt picked against nd lol his nd picks have been spot on this year 🤣🤣🤣
He picked Navy to beat ND who ND beat by like 50
lmao no they have not
@ lol i was being sarcastic
@ my bad
"Do you think those two guys wouldn't have learned their lesson?"
It wasn't a lesson that needed to be learned. If they didn't know they were running behind backup lineup against the top 2 defenders in the conference, I don't have faith they learned anything. I know not to stick a fork in my eye. I don't need to learn from it.
Ah yes just like when Navy was gonna beat ND….
here come the IRISH but you make great points. I agree the Irish passing is suspect but Riley can run when needed. I love your show
Joel you are a big 10 homer. I like your show except for your big 10 bias. ND wins by 10 or more. Bottom line Indiana has played no rushing attack in the top 50. ND has played 7 teams ranked top 50 in rushing. Put your money on uncle Al’s defense.
tbf to SMU. its been pretty cold in Dallas this week
I'd take Indiana +225 on the money line.
Good luck with that 🍀
@@whatahitson272wouldn’t be surprised either way. Both are so overrated
WE ARE
Indiana is not the #1 rush defense in the country 😂😂😂 statistics make people blind I swear.
I usually agree with Joel, but he picked Navy to beat ND and ND won 51 - 14. I think he is underestimating ND.
I hope Klatt is wrong about this game just like he was wrong about Navy which he never acknowledged!☘️
Excellent video! Keep the playoffs at 12 teams, I hope they don't ever extend it to 16 teams or more. 12 might be too many, 16 would be way too many teams.
Nobody plays well in their first opportunity in that environment… Except Notre Dame did pretty at a&m and that’s a pretty respectable environment
Indiana had 151 total yards vs OSU. 2 bad special teams plays didn't decide the game.
OSU also had 3 linemen out going into the game and lost another in the Indiana game.
Irish go for 200+ on the ground and 200+ in the air.
lol they won’t go 200 in the air
Cut both those in half then maybe they could hit 100 yards in the air
