During a blood moon or solar eclipse she will sell red/purple which will spread the corruption or crimson, and will sell a green purity solution normally which is the forest you usually spawn in. If you have her house in the hallowed biome she will sell that solution and when you have a truffle npc he will sell mushroom biome solution
Well, keep in mind that Nyarlethotep arrived on Terraria eons ago. It could be that the microbe that infected the land that the Corruption item references was actually a piece of the Elder God.

The god he's based the story around is never mentioned once in-game. This is not a theory it's a fan fiction and that's what it should be called. Still I enjoyed it for what it was but not as lore.

But by the end of it, I was not only intrigued; I was also satisfied with the 6-ish minutes spent on explaining how Skeletron and the Eater of Worlds came to be, without some annoying voice work and forced jokes taking up most of it. I have always had the head canon that: The crimson is the corpse of cthulu (ichor btw the way, being the blood of the gods in greek mythology) The golem was once a creature dubbed "the sun lord" the ultimate enemy of the moon lord (i feel this makes sense because it would explain the sun cult robes, why you need to defeat the golem to fight the moon lord, and why the golem has a sun emblem on his chest)
Me and my friend discussed about Terraria once and came up with a very weird conclusion.The game is a "demons vs gods" type of game. Basically, you can randomly get different biomes which you should know. Crimson = the battlegrounds of the demons and gods, proven mainly due to the amount of blood and gore there, heck, even a giant brain attacks you. The brain of Cthulu, a god, the demons could of easily destroyed this god and now a part of it is under their control. Corruption is a lot more, complex than the Crimson... The EOW is yet another god-ish thing, being referenced is Lovecraft, where Cthulu, another god, is mentioned. The soul eaters there could well easily be fallen angels, considering that Harpys exist. We also have come up with the conclusion that every NPC is against you but have no choice to follow you and help you, or die. The WOF is a demon controlled by demons that have died in battle. The EOC and Skeleton are pretty obvious at this point, but something that stuck out to me is how, when you defeat the WOF, the souls of light and dark are released, the WOF could have been tormented angels and demons forced into one being made to guard something important.
The NPCs against you makes sense, they are kinda rude to you, at the beginning. well the merchant and nurse are, the nurse just doesn't care about the player. the druid is just being honest, and the other NPCs are grateful for you saving them. Also, what about the fact the guide has to die for WoF to spawn? Could that come in somewhere? Otherwise, your theory make a fair amount of sense

There is no real backstory to Terraria or lore, here you have th-cam.com/users/demilogic , in one of alpha let's plays Redigit (creator of game) says that there is no story and that player can make a story on his own, so fan fiction like this is quite good. Of course none of this can be confirmed without extra lore added to the game, but this was very, VERY well put together. Considering that lack of lore in the game, besides the Moonlord, etc., it's good to finally have something, even if it is just a theory, or fan-fic, or what even the fuck you call it. I just like it.

I think this is a very good way to explain all of the bosses origins. Now I have my own fan theory. What if the moon Lord was supposed to be cuthulu. Think about it he has the Brain of cuthulu, three opened eyes for the eye of cuthulu and the twins, plus a piece of his skeleton could have been missing missing so skeletron. The eater of world's could have come from the hole in the moon Lord's chest. The mechanical bosses other than the twins could have been revived forms of the previously mentioned bosses. Lastly, not only do we know he can regenerate due to it happening when you die, but what if when you killed the bosses that were part of him they become part of him again.
The thing about putting "Lore" in your title implies that all of this is true in the universe of the game. There is literally 0 evidence of this being true at all. There's nothing wrong with coming up with a fan story as to the origins of anything in any game or whatever, but calling it "lore" is just lying. Same goes for theories, if this was a theory there would need to be evidence of it and everything would be implied, not said as if its the truth

it is ... the wall of flesh is supposed to be a kind of overlord over both the forces of good and evil ; the wall of flesh is 'a part of the planet' - and you as a 'heroic' champion decide its a good idea to smash right through that wall unleashing all the powerfull magic and dangerous monsters right back into the world.
GUYS _SERIOUSLY_. I _despise_ how the terraria fandom is so uptight about lore. "It's not that deep!", and "just let it be." I'm a writer. I love having knowledge about the background of the game. I especially love speculating about why the crimson and the corruption exist. It's just how I am. You guys are toxic for shunning that side of the fandom. :)
Did you guys ever notice that the dungeon is somewhat in a defensive position facing the only probable direction of attack. It seems like some sort of war happened and skeletron is one of protectors of terraria itself but is too old to remember friend from foe. I say *protector* because they have been in terraria before the player the only real enemy I see is the invader which is the moonlord. The lizards might also be involved in the war and barely survived so they created the golem to protect their safe haven which is the temple. Other bosses may just be alpha species native to the land like eye of cthulu is actually an Alpha for the demon eyes or that the duke and plantera are ancient alphas.
One little problem I had with this is that you said the Old Man kidnapped the Goblin Tinkerer, but that's not the case. In the actual game, the Goblin Tinkerer tells you that it was his fellow Goblins that threw him underground out of spite because he was simply correcting them on the fact that they weren't going East, but West. Beyond that though, this was really cool! I like this lore, it gives a nice dark twist to Terraria. Though I would love to see how you explain the Crimson, seeing as you only talked about the Corruption here.

I just though of my own canon, here it is. You can suggest if you want. Long ago... Two gods ruled over the universe, the sun god and the moon god. (There is also lesser gods, falling into the order of the sun and the order of the light. They are also brothers) Bored of the emptiness of the world, the two gods made a planet, terraria. Terraria is full of islands (The different worlds made by players). They left guardians of the realms. Queen bee and Planterra, the ruler of the jungle. King Slime, the ruler of the slimes. Duke Fishron, the ruler of the sea. And the wall of flesh, ruler of the underworld. For a long time, the two gods both thirsted for more power. The world eventually went to war. The sun god played all of his subjects against the moon god, while the moon god sent his. The moon god had a great advantage though, Cthulhu. Eventually, the sun god was slain, while Cthulhu fell. The lhizards created a new body for the sun god to inhabit and protect them with ( They were highly loyal to the sun god), They entitled it the golem. Cthulhu was split into pieces (brain and eye, skeletor), and his corpse spread corruption and mutated a large digger (eater of worlds). The world split into chaos, until a hero arrived to liberate the inhabitants. The moon god had gotten angry and awoke his ancient champions (like planterra) and mechanized some of the fallen evils the hero slayed (mechanical bosses). Eventually, he called upon the moon cult to awaken him to take care of the hero himself. He eventually died and terraria returned to peace. As you see, the crimson and other things are not included, it is because I can’t think of anything. Maybe all of you can help me think of things!

I think this is a very good way to explain all of the bosses origins. Now I have my own fan theory. What if the moon Lord was supposed to be cuthulu. Think about it he has the Brain of cuthulu, three opened eyes for the eye of cuthulu and the twins, plus a piece of his skeleton could have been missing missing so skeletron. The eater of world's could have come from the hole in the moon Lord's chest. The mechanical bosses other than the twins could have been revived forms of the previously mentioned bosses. Lastly, not only do we know he can regenerate due to it happening when you die, but what if when you killed the bosses that were part of him they become part of him again.

The thing about putting "Lore" in your title implies that all of this is true in the universe of the game. There is literally 0 evidence of this being true at all. There's nothing wrong with coming up with a fan story as to the origins of anything in any game or whatever, but calling it "lore" is just lying. Same goes for theories, if this was a theory there would need to be evidence of it and everything would be implied, not said as if its the truth

it is ... the wall of flesh is supposed to be a kind of overlord over both the forces of good and evil ; the wall of flesh is 'a part of the planet' - and you as a 'heroic' champion decide its a good idea to smash right through that wall unleashing all the powerfull magic and dangerous monsters right back into the world.

cthulhu doesn't have a skeleton, in case you did not know.
Did you guys ever notice that the dungeon is somewhat in a defensive position facing the only probable direction of attack. It seems like some sort of war happened and skeletron is one of protectors of terraria itself but is too old to remember friend from foe. I say *protector* because they have been in terraria before the player the only real enemy I see is the invader which is the moonlord.
The lizards might also be involved in the war and barely survived so they created the golem to protect their safe haven which is the temple. Other bosses may just be alpha species native to the land like eye of cthulu is actually an Alpha for the demon eyes or that the duke and plantera are ancient alphas.

Been playing terraria since the first leak. Really cool to see someone doing a lore video on it for once.
One little problem I had with this is that you said the Old Man kidnapped the Goblin Tinkerer, but that's not the case. In the actual game, the Goblin Tinkerer tells you that it was his fellow Goblins that threw him underground out of spite because he was simply correcting them on the fact that they weren't going East, but West. Beyond that though, this was really cool! I like this lore, it gives a nice dark twist to Terraria. Though I would love to see how you explain the Crimson, seeing as you only talked about the Corruption here.

I just though of my own canon, here it is. You can suggest if you want.
Long ago... Two gods ruled over the universe, the sun god and the moon god. (There is also lesser gods, falling into the order of the sun and the order of the light. They are also brothers) Bored of the emptiness of the world, the two gods made a planet, terraria. Terraria is full of islands (The different worlds made by players). They left guardians of the realms. Queen bee and Planterra, the ruler of the jungle. King Slime, the ruler of the slimes. Duke Fishron, the ruler of the sea. And the wall of flesh, ruler of the underworld. For a long time, the two gods both thirsted for more power. The world eventually went to war. The sun god played all of his subjects against the moon god, while the moon god sent his. The moon god had a great advantage though, Cthulhu. Eventually, the sun god was slain, while Cthulhu fell. The lhizards created a new body for the sun god to inhabit and protect them with ( They were highly loyal to the sun god),
They entitled it the golem. Cthulhu was split into pieces (brain and eye, skeletor), and his corpse spread corruption and mutated a large digger (eater of worlds). The world split into chaos, until a hero arrived to liberate the inhabitants. The moon god had gotten angry and awoke his ancient champions (like planterra) and mechanized some of the fallen evils the hero slayed (mechanical bosses). Eventually, he called upon the moon cult to awaken him to take care of the hero himself. He eventually died and terraria returned to peace.
As you see, the crimson and other things are not included, it is because I can’t think of anything. Maybe all of you can help me think of things!
