- This time we delve into the untold history of Terraria. It's not just the crafting, boss killing game you thought it to be but rather has one of the deepest and most in depth stories of all of gaming!
This video is NOT official lore for the video game Terraria. It is my own interpretation of the game world and it's history with fictitious elements added to help expand the story.

So the true hero is the one opening the door for zombies at night, the first one dead every blood moon, the one who dies repeatedly every time I spawn the wall of flesh, the one who, when I started out, hit every slime and made them angry at me.
Nice theory though, I mean he is kind of a true hero being able to reincarnate himself 346 times a week and come up with different names each time...

Everyone knows the lore, but noone knows how the guide even appeared with you in the first place or how NPCs can magically appear in your house
Tbh he lives upstaurs in my room for some reason so he cant open doors, her cant even jump on platforms, double jump only
When you're fighting Lunatic Cultist, right before he dies, this appears:
*Celestial creatures are invading this world!*
*Lunatic Cultist was defeated!*
This means he either was trying to stop the Invasion, or finished the ritual before his death, neat huh?
or he summoned the pillars as a last seal keeping the moonlord at bay.
And on the topic of Cthulhu, R’leyh is the island that Cthulhu rules over, correct? If so, you always find two oceans at the ends of the terraria world. An seeing in the theory that Cthulhu had some link to the world; is the terraria world, really R’leyh?
The description of Ryleh is of a place full of moss covered stones,oozing and non-euclidean architecture so I guess not.
So maybe the guide opening the door on the first night is him testing your skills to see if you're the real new champion?

I mean. The guide does know how to make solar armour, the strongest armour in the game, from solar fragments dropped by the solar tower. Which I might add was summoned by the moonlord.

Flithy melee class player, the strongest armor is all of the armor from the pillars, but mostly stardust(my opinion)

It reminds me of Noble six from halo, where if he hadn't sacrificed himself, the master chief would have never gotten off reach, therefore spelling doom for humanity.
The Master Queef It wasn't for Master Chief it was for Cortana. Cortana was considered humanities last hope. Master Chief just ended up the one who carried her around.

I have a theory myself. I think that the Broken Hero Swords are the swords the original hero lost in his battles, taken by monsters. Also, I believe you have to kill the guide to awaken the Wall of Flesh because it draws the attention of it because it remembers the battle the two had long ago. I also believe that you find the Mechanic in the dungeon because she was captured by Skeletron (Cthulu) to make Skeletron Prime to live on after his death. This was also how the destroyer and twins were made, because they were mechanical versions of Cthulu's body, like the Eater of Worlds.

Moon Lord is Cthulhu's brother (according to Whitney Spinks) and is actually good. The player's goal is to become powerful. They are releasing bosses to defeat them to become more powerful. Cthulhu was defeated and divided up. The character can kill Cthulhu than he has to be an old one, as Cthulhu is an old one and the only one who can kill an old one is another old one. Another thing that makes me think this is because the player can't die and just respawns. Moon Lord is trying to prevent you from releasing Cthulhu to attempt to defeat him as he knows that Cthulhu will rule again if he wins. Moon Lord transfers some of his power to the lunatic cultist to see if that was enough, because it's not he then has to take care of you himself. After he is killed he can no longer prevent you from releasing the dreaded Cthulhu into the world.

keep in mind the pillars description says that they seal a powerful tyrant, so you killing them is literally you making the lunatic cultists dream true, plus WHY does the pillars dying affect the player? it doesnt affect other NPCs, so why is th main character affected?
I Mean it may be Gameplay Mechanic's... But why does he Know Everything..! But then again, the Player is the one who Bring's back Life, Creates home for the NPC's to Return to. And they're the one to Lure in the Evil Entities to Bring them Down. He/She can alway's Re-Summon Them, and He'll/She'll always Learn their Mistakes. And they're the one with the Power to Respawn even more Times, Faster than the other NPC's, they're the one the Guide may call on to finish their Work. But really the player is just taking their Job to do on their Own. Even if you Kill Animal's, it's not the Player's Fault... As in the Character. It's ' The Player's ' Fault meaning the Person to Control the Character outside of the Screen. Also I Enjoyed the Story because it really Gives lore to the Game.
3:28 The twins are robots. Not living creatures. The eye and brain of cuthulu are the only things that belong to cuthulu. Same thing with the wall of flesh. If the wall of flesh was cuthulu's flesh, it would be called "flesh of cuthulu" or something.
I think the guide is the wall of flesh, seeing as he dies when you spawn it, and that when a new one respawns, he has a completely new name. It makes sense as it kinda shows that the guide wanted to die, so he led us and told us how to get to the point where the wall of flesh would attack us, or he thought that he would be able to kill us, so he led us to where he could be reborn as the wall of flesh and so he could kill us and get rid of the hero. Just a theory.

I know that I'm replying to a year old text but spetnaze I'm not sure how to spell it is definitly made of flesh as when u kill him with gore enable his insides are red while retnazar? The one with the laser lacks this and also shoots out bolts when it dies so it is possible that the mechanic only rebuilt one of the eyes making this story true

wow this is actually quite touching. guide decided to teach you how to fight and survive (kinda like he is your fathe- hey that could be a thing!) and helping you out untill he passed away in order to give you a chance at saving tereria! (and then he respawns)

The story is that the pillers are used by the dryads to trap Cthulhu on the moon after the they tore a chunk of his brain one of his eyes and some of his skeleton that's Skeletron moon lords a zombified moonlord that's trying to revive and the cultist are trying to stop the return after the mechanic a smart girl that is the distant relative of one Cthulhus servants who the cultist back when the guide was a member stopped her from making a fake brain of her master and the dungeon made her forget who she was the hint that she was evil was to do with her crush on the goblin tinkerer and after that the guide desided to do a ritual in the under world to imprison the mechanical beasts by becoming the new guardian of light and darkness But made the mistake of mispronouncing Half of this life saying half of all life which is why most enemies are only out during hardmode
Oh I kinda thought the mechanic created the mechanical bosses as the cult and the evil people captured her and left her down in the dungeon to work on those mechanical creature while the old man served as a way to guard the dungeon so nobody could enter as he was under the control of Skeletron and the eye of Cthulhu and the brain are just parts of Cthulhu since they were torn from him , and so on I’m not wanted to type the rest right now
This is basically fanfiction that started before the official lore came out. It kind of exists as its own continuity now which I carry on because people seem to like it but it deviates wildly from the official lore
Imagine defeating Moonlord and the game dubs you as the new guardian. When you kill WOF the world searches for a new one, most likely giving it to Moonlord, what if you become the guardian when he’s dead? Difference is you can’t be permanently killed
Plot twist I am the last hero with power to slay any boss with one hit the sword of legends the bow of myths the armour of gods the staf of spells these 4 tools have the power to bring peace to Terraria
We use animals as pickaxes, weapons,guns, even a minecart, and more

My speculation is that the lunatic cultist followers and the lunatic cultist were actually good guys. They were the ones keeping the seal intact from the moon lord himself hinting by how the pillars appear after lunatic cultist is defeated.

In my opinion, the true hero of terraria is the lunatic cultist. If you defeat him the pillars spawn, meaning he was guarding them, plus, if you don't kill the cultist, the moon lord doesn't appear.

1. Skelatron prime awakened , the destroyer awakened , the twins awakened 2. Guide defeats them 3. The clothiers story takes place aka he enters the dungeon gets cursed 4. The player arrives 5. The player finds the deformed mechanical bosses, skelatron, the eater of worlds and the eye of cythullhu 6. The player finds the brain of cythullhu 7. The player gets the guid voodoo doll and summons the wall off flesh which in my theory is the reformed twins, old twin and the brain 8. Time goes back to 1

There is official lore written by loki now, actually dryads destroyed cthulhu mechanical bosses are replacements made by mechanican trapped in dungeon and crimson grows by human sacrefices
That explains why to summon the wall of flesh you gotta kill the guide

On the Guide on the wiki It says that the Wall of Flesh was protecting the world from the Spread of Hallow and the evil biomes.
Maybe the guide created the wof to seal the light and dark. And h3 sacrficed himself and made himself a vodoo doll?

Imo he is NOT the good guy. He imprisons NPCs, and smites creatures just trying to defend themself. He also turns the flesh of his enemies into weapons to maximize his killing, so he can kill again and turn those enemies into stronger weapons. He ends up destroying the foundation of the earth by sacrificing the guide, his FRIEND to summon him, bringing imbalance to the world and strengthening the corruption/crimson. He abuses his immortality to go on a rampage, causing the universe itself to tear at the seams just to get stronger weapons. The last remaining contingency plan for him, the lunar pillars, is destroyed, and he fights a legendary battle, for the sake once again of better stuff. His infinite wrath only ends when there's no powerful life left to challenge him and even then he revives his victims sometimes, for the sake of robbing them of money. He then subjugates the rest of life to suit his needs. Even some mods back this up. Spirit of Purity is summoned by killing a rabbit in front of it's alter. To summon a modded boss called Rajah Rabbit, you kill thousands of rabbits. The boss is even called "the Champion of the Innocent". The Spirit of Chaos is just a fundamental force of the universe. Even calamity depicts him as an immortal monster that stirs up death and destruction for no reason. The dude's a cosmic menace.
But why does cathulu seem to be dying or rather his body parts that are dismembered seem to be Rotting such as how the brain of cathulu is hollow or how the eye of cathulu has a bunch of red and sore looking area around its retina and how skeletron has no torso or legs (its obviously cathulus skeleton) and the same legless fate happened to his brother, the moon lord, but why?

I wouldn't say the moon lord is the brother, Id say It is the remnants of the rest of the body, we see the eyes, digestive tract, skeleton, the flesh, and the brain (the un mech infused eyes, the EATER of worlds, skeletron, the wall of flesh, and brain. respectively). The moon lord is clearly missing some parts, its brain is a spectral mass, its eyes are pure light, its lower half is missing with their internals, and all we see when we defeat it is it's ethereal skull, and its ribcage. The old man was cursed to withhold the skeleton, the guide the flesh, they held the largest parts of this being, they are the ones who defeated the beast the first time around, making you the new hero.
just a side note. I reccomend stating more clearly that these are theories and hypothesis's. People don't take these things as kindly when you state them as facts with very little evidence. Especially considering these are built off of correlation and not causation. trust me when i say, adding that little tid bit will save you from TONS of hate mail.
Can your next episode about the lore of Terraria be about either the hollow, the floating islands, or the mushroom biome
in the call of Cthulhu one chapter is called the terror in Clay and the boy sets out on a journey to take down the cult and rid the world of Cthulhu's belief so why isn't the guilds name Clay but if the cultists worship Cthulhu then why do they summon celestial creatures when killed

So the Corruption and Crimson are each the corpses of a different elder god, with Corruption being Nyarlathotep, and Crimson being Cthulhu? That's really cool.

@rational gamer then why does the guide respawn when you activate hardmode (kill the wall of flesh) also it would make sense (from a gameplay point of view) to not have the guide respawn because basically pre-hardmode was holding your hand yet not letting you get very strong, where in hardmode, the guide died, never came back so he cant help you no more and your on your own to gather the power to finish your job, yet protect yourself from the evils that have been unleashed with the death of the wall flesh
i know this is 3 years ago but in older versions the guide wouldn’t respawn in hardmode.
