- Converting a Lexus 3IS base model bumper, to the 3IS F-Sport bumper! I wanted to do this video because I've always admired how the F-sport bumper looks on the 3IS and wanted that look for my car. When doing research on how to do this, there wasn't very much content to be found other than NIA Auto Design showing how to convert a 2IS bumper to a 3IS bumper. There wasn't much content for the 3IS model other than the pioneer of Lexus TH-cam himself, Mr. Jason Nguyen. So I took it upon myself to document the swap for other people who are interested in doing the same conversion I did.

I have a 2016 Lexus 200t f sport but I like the newer front bumper look from 2017. You know if it’ll fit?
If your aim is to only swap the bumper, it's not going to fit. The 2017 model has different headlights than the 2016 model. the 2014-2016 3is models have a little dip up the headlights where the 2017+ models don't have the dip, so if you were going to do a bumper swap to the 2017's model, you would need to swap out the headlights too.

I just purchased the bumper, chrome insert with top grille, and bottom mesh grille. What else do I need from your experience, to make this conversion without zero headaches? P.s. I've watched ur video twice, but felt the need to ask just in case. Thanks!!!
I think why I ran into issues was because this was my first time ever dismantling a car. Things to look out for would be hardware, making sure you have the correct bolts, nuts, and screws. If you’re doing electrical work, make sure the wires are firmly connected and won’t loosen over time. Also get a friend, doing it yourself is cool but having an extra set of hands doesn’t hurt. If you need anything specific you can hmu and I’ll try my best to answer your questions

No, the grilles are different sizes so the f-sport grille will fit no the base model bumper because it's smaller.

Hi. I also want to convert my IS300H 2014 to the f-sport bumper. Can u Tell Me where u bought each part (bumper and grill). Did u buy the standard bumper from an isf or a special one for conversions?
I bought almost everything off amazon. Now, I think you can find it on carparts.com if amazon doesn't have it. The other site I used was ebay but that was for small clips and stuff.
Did your fog lights brackets fit?
Will a regular f sport bumper fit the base or do I have to buy a special one
I just bought a regular fsport bumper. you just gotta watch out for the headlight mounts. Some of the latches at the bottom won't line up but it should still have plenty of locations to secure itself to the car.
I’m doing the same thing to my car now. The conversion, do I need the drl mounts, don’t they already come on the base model or do I need to buy it?
If your's didn't come with the mounts, I recommend either transferring the mount from your old bumper to creating some sort of mount for it. I didn't realize this til after I finished the swap and just cut off the mount from my old bumper and moved it over.

Do you need any park sensor for the swap or just the bumper and grille?
That varies by model, my model doesnt have it so I didnt need to do a sensor swap but if yours does, you might need to find another tutorial 😅

I got it off amazon unpainted. You can get it anywhere like CarID, other Lexus auto part sellers. Just make sure it's for your car because I know the 200T has different headlights and vents compared to my 250. If you want it painted you might have to find someone who will do that for you.

On amazon! The badge I just transferred from my old grille over. It comes in two pieces, just something to look out for!
How much did you pay for your bumper and was it painted already?
I forgot, I want to say $300? I can’t find my order history to give you a definite price but I had to get it painted at a shop. That ran me another $700.
Is there a way to just change out the grill so it’s the same style? So I don’t have to do the entire bumper swap with paint job?
