A suggestion for those on a very limited budget: set a ridiculously small goal that you cannot possibly fail. For example, set a goal to buy one Constitutional dime every payday. That's it. Then go do it. You'll be surprised at how fast your unconscious mind figures out a way to up your game because it's not in "fight or flight" mode that large goals can trigger. This is from a book my doctor prescribed for my ADHD, "The Kaizen Way" by Dr. Robert Maurer.

Most of my stack is from Scottsdale. Even my gold is their tenth oz rounds. If I had a thousand for precious metals, I'd buy 8 or 9 more rolls of Roosevelt's and Mercs.

I do not like the type 2 Eagle the Eagle is lopsided . Eagle are always good. I buy the type 2 when I get a deal. Do not buy most U.S. Mint product you will lose money 9 out of 10 times . The U.S. Mint buy on the secondary market. You will pay 1/2 price.
After buying ten 1/10 oz. Gold coins I’ve spent close to $3000.00. I like the small gold coins and bars but having a few 1 oz. bars or coins would be cheaper.
us 90% I think will get you the most I think your strat is fine except I would not steer new people to eagles as premiums are too high. Id stick to lower premium stuff. I occasionally get impaired eagles for +1 which is a steal. So impaired sovereign coins I would recommend since lower premium for a odd scratch here and there and the premiums are usually under rounds for a solid ounce but higher than 90% for those who dont like us 90% as much.
Rosavelts cost more everywhere I've been because they have more weight because they are not as worn or slick Mercury's normally are worn more than Rosavelts I have more mercs
I love stacking art rounds from mints like the Intaglio mint. I love the designs on some of them and maybe once they stop going into production their prices will rise. That'd definitely be a plus!

I'd say if you're just starting to start off slow. A couple of 1 oz silver rounds a week if your budget allows it and most importantly do you research and get as much advice as you possibly can. Watching videos like this is always helpful.

I prefer coin just as you do and like your method of stacking as it offers collectors good advice especially about the dimes. I have no love for paper currency.

You pretty much nailed it spot on to what I would do. The only change I would make would be to get a decent graded Morgan instead of a few of the 1oz coins.
$1000 is a lot. Here in California you have to buy $2000 of silver or gold in order to skip the sales tax. The tax rate in California is 6% and with local sales tax it varies between 7.5% and 10%. That's a crazy premium on top of the silver/gold premium. It just doesn't pay to buy less than $2000 at a time.
I prefer 5 oz bars over 10 because they were the max I could buy when I started. Totally agree on 1 fractional gold piece.I would consider a single eagle, because I'll throw one in on a large purchase, but I don't aggressively buy them because of the premium. After that I would buy 90% and a Whitman coin book and start filling it in. It adds to the fun for me.

Hi Stateside, great starter vlog! Even if your budget is lower than $1000, you can start as low as one silver dime to start to stack and build up to the items you have in the list. Silver rounds are probably a good reasonable start to stacking. Maybe one at a time or whatever budget you have. I would find the lowest premium and start stacking that.

You can get the premium back if you sell peer to peer. I have done it. In 2011 I traded 38 oz of silver for ten 1/10th oz sovereign gold coins to a guy from Craigslist.
Gold is for severely mathematically challenged if i had a gold coin i would sprint to coin store sell it and buy all the dimes i could. Each dime has 2.2 grams of silver. Gold 80x times silver makes a gold purchase a horrible decision. Smartphone lies

You can get the premium back if you sell peer to peer. I have done it. In 2011 I traded 38 oz of silver for ten 1/10th oz sovereign gold coins to a guy from Craigslist.

Gold is for severely mathematically challenged if i had a gold coin i would sprint to coin store sell it and buy all the dimes i could. Each dime has 2.2 grams of silver. Gold 80x times silver makes a gold purchase a horrible decision. Smartphone lies

Good choices for 1000. I think I’d start with bars…..like you said, you just can’t loose. I’m not sure I would go coins just yet until I thought I had the weight, but everyone is different. 1/10 gold FOR SURE 👍🏻 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Got a bunch of mercs but stopped buying them after i stacked 50 mercs next to 50 rosies. Youll find your missing around 8 to 10 dimes. Crazy

@@StatesideStash I'm not sure what that even means. But your 10 dimes short. In barter land you get less if you spent the same amount on mercs as I spent on Rosie's. Some shops are selling their 90% by weight. If all start doing that. All the people with mercs and slick wash quarters gonna be mad. Junk is my favorite to stack and I have alot but last couple years all I've been getting is Rosie dimes.
