The cbr600rr specifically the 07/08 models are decievingly fast for a 600 they pull pretty well from 6k onwards unlike most 600s that don't even start moving until 8-9k. I was surprised af by a 08cbr I picked up few weeks back for cheap super light, handles like a dream and goes as hard as I've ever known a 600 too. Doesn't have the outright straight line missle power of a litre bike but you can be on that throtle as hard as you want and it holds it's lines, we did some testing I was on throttle 22% more then my mate on his 2007 zx10, and I was at over 70% throttle nearly twice as long, he did a 12 second faster time trial (9-10 minute trail times average) I over took him in ever tight section the only time he got out in front was the straights and even then he said he had to work to outrun the cbr until 190+kmph which there's only two straights you can go 200+. Tldr don't discount the 07/08 cbrs they are a masterclass in track missle performance.
I have an 08cbr 600rr fbo, flashed and tuned, pc3, blah blah, blah, it's a full blown race bike able to keep up with some liter bikes up until 150 on the straights and insanely gaps on twisties, I absolutely love it!
Cbr had a great pace . That’s about the pace I ran until my last run then I sent it lol. He could be a little smoother in transitioning and tighten up the trail braking but all together fast rider 👍

New rider I learned to ride on a cbr250r... I am looking to upgrade and I ggot a great deal on a 15' cbr600rr.....thing is I'm a shorter rider and I had to tiptoe the bike and it seemed pretty huge and heavy heavy....should I try a different bike or just learn to handle it? Basically I'm saying it seemed pretty intimidating compared to my 250....any advice?

Doubt it. The Dragon is legendary. The east coast US mountains are some of the best motorcycle roads in the world for people who want to go fast. No pullofs or driveways! Just trees and the road.

A 600 is better for tighter twisty stuff. These new 1000s with the electronics are pretty sick and more controllable than the old ones. You will loose your license faster on a 1000. Dudes like wristy make riding those 1000cc beasts look easier than it is.
