He probably got his body position from Mick Doohan. He rides reasonably smoothly and had good lines. He was probably at the end of ground clearance and kept a slim margin, which is smart riding on the street… which, of course, most commentators here seem to think the street is good for 10/10 this riding, but it’s not, it’s not a proper racetrack.
Worse People to get your Body Position from for sure! Team HRC/Repsol
His head doesn't move much. I'd give him a 7, but he's riding in his limits and seems to be smooth so that's good. 10/10 for having fun and being safe.

If you're going to rate anyone's riding you better be perfect yourself, which none of us are.
This is how you ride a taller naked bike fast and safely on the road.
His head is never over the lines and he's getting as much vision round the corner as he can get.
His lines are great, and he's having some dragging fun at the same time. If this guy "kisses the mirror" chances are he's going to kiss the front of someone's car.

He’s riding crossed up and needs to get his head down closer to the bars and save some lean angle. More upper body lean = less bike lean = safer riding.
He looks like he is trying to look at his front tire but your right he just isn't leaning with his head. Wristy should tell him to kiss the mirror
Thing is the FZ9 (or MT09 as I know it) force one to take an unnatural upper body position when pushing really hard. Wider clip ons are much needed and a suspension tweak. That guys legs tell me he can go very fast on a fully faired machine.
Was quick enough for what he was riding. The suspension seemed to be working a lot harder on the Yam. Wrist is basically on a road legal race bike.
His head needs to be at or below the mirrors to get the proper english

I agree with RoadRac3r - he needs to get his chin down to his bars, head and body over the bars and turn his chest into the corner more and worry less about trying to drag knee.
Also, seems his suspension needs to be setup as the front is wallowing quite a bit.
Apart from that, a very competent rider. Well done.
At these speeds (45-90ish) is knee down superfluous and unnecessary? Can you take those corners with lean only without hanging off at all, given that the bike probably has more grip than we can use? Good comment

To be fair the MT-09 never was intended to be the fastest on the twisties. The old model suspension was worse than the newer aswell. And it had sort of a vague front end. Considering this I think he did a fine job.

I rate him a 10 for having a bike and enjoying the freedom but also remember the public roads are not a race track , there's oil , diesel, muck pot holes 🤣 and all sorts , so you could be the best rider on the planet but the roads will catch you off guard one day. so don't push it to hard unless your on track if you wanna live in my opinion 👍🏼👊🏼😎
Much respect for Antprilia for hanging back with him. The guy needs better technique but at least he’s out there having fun on two wheels.
Looks like his lower body wants to go into the corner, but his upper body wants do go the opposite way.

@@htchd1htchd149 It does, but it increases Your lean angle - hence less suspension work available. By "unlocking" the elbow You get head and chest lowered (better center of mass), reducing lean angle of the bike and slightly increases a reaction time to maybe correct a mistake and drive safer. He’s good. And plenty fast for the street. Anybody who says otherwise has never ridden that road at speed. Or, likely, has never ridden a sporty motorcycle at all.

I would say for riding an old gen mt09 he is pretty good! Mt09s are not the best on Twisties as they lack corner stability.

That guy is pretty damn quick and that on the FZ9. Put him on something a bit for focused and faster and he will blow everyone's mind. The MT09/FZ9 force one into a very unnatural upper body position when really pushing hard. JR is fast.

Let's see.... almost always stayed in his lane, gave himself some room, didn't over-ride the corners on a bike with budget suspension, used the whole lane, did a great pace... didn't appear to endanger others. I'd say this is a pretty good rider. 8/10 but probably held back his full send.
All of these people commenting on body position... none of you could catch Wayne Rainey's farts on his worst day and he had a body position that looked impossible. What works for the bike, works.

Hey u ride an fz09 through there with him on a 1000 sport bike and lets see how that goes. He was hauling ass on an fz09. Those are great bikes but can't set nearly the lap time of a new s1000rr.
The s1k only has more pace than the FZ09 when they’re 100+ a decent rider on the fz09 could possibly be faster than someone on the s1k. As always depends on rider but them 09s got some grunt

i loved my 690, i rode it for a half a season up there and its proper fast, but im still faster on the sport bike than i was on my 690 smc, i also had a 450smr, but that lil beast i had to SHIFT ALL THE TIME! LOL

He's too big for that rear shock spring. In watching, I see him starting to squat as the bike turns in. You can see he almost bottoms the thing out and parts start to scrape. He needs some suspension work, then he will be safer and go faster. He didn't do too bad. Whoever was riding the camera bike needs to set an upper RPM limit at about 25% lower than what he is using. Instead of revving the piss out of the bike, rev less and focus on maintaining your speed through the turns and applying throttle earlier. You are using high HP as a crutch to fix slow corner speed.

It's a testament to the bike at how well it performs cause this guy rides like a knuckle head. Accelerating when the bike is laid over HUGE mistake but this guy does it like its his job. I think this rider probably needs to take some rider training or at the very least watch some motojitsu videos.
That's what the technology on new bikes is for. Lean angle related traction control. May as well use it.
