What's the purpose of cutting a speaker box? To me that looks like a disrespect to the people who built the speaker.

No way, you want to know if you're getting ripped off. Hence built and store bought PC.

@@bluerice666 I am not sure anyone can judge a quality of a loudspeaker by just looking at it's box cross section. First and formost it's performance has to be measured with the special tools (for example check Erin's Audio Corner).
The same can be said about PCs. The best way to determine PC performance is to run standard benchmark tests rather than just looking at massive shiny cooper coolers with RGB LED backlights and other stuff like that.

1000's of dollars for a fake wooden box wrapped in wood veneer. Some cheap parts for a cross over...yeah nkst of them are cheap. Air coil inductors too overpriced. So why the high price? R&D perhaps...they need to make the money back.
