Great video. I have had mine for years since they first became cordless. The hole in the side of the guard is to access the nut so you can change the blade. The double-sided rails are handy when you are working in confined spaces, so you don't have to keep flipping them around when you don't have much room to go the other way.
Thank you for sharing because I knew that hope had to be there for a reason, I just didn’t know. Also, I hope I’ll get in a position where I need the dual track one day! Thanks again!
I’ve used this track saw and have no complaints but personally the festool (corded) was actually cheaper slightly so I went with that (I use cordless dewalt but a track saw to me is a stationary tool as your usually set up at work bench etc. not moving the tool, unlike obviously dril, recip the lot) great vid btw ❤
Fantastic review! Appreciate the details. I wonder if the reason DeWALT used that unusual plunge design, was to simplify the riving knife design. Losing the rotation means the riving knife and blade can be mounted together, so it's always in the perfect position, no matter the depth. Doesn't mean it doesn't feel weird to use though. Subbed!
Ahh! So they traded the rotation for the ability to plunge together. Interesting, sounds like good reason, but like you said, it still kinda feels weird. Still love it though. Thanks for sharing that and thanks for subscribing, you’re the first big channel to do so! Thanks
@RenowithRamonne Mafell only make high end, top echelon machines. Their track saw is feature rich, for example, that little hole that you put tape over now a Witt Work yellow cover. Mafell sealed that and even put a gasket to prevent dust. They are the best at a premium price.
@@rickyperkins232 yeah I wouldn’t switch to any other track saw if I had that one. In the distant futures I’m gonna see if I can get my hands on it! Thanks for sharing!
@RenowithRamonne when I was in the market for a track saw, i didn't have to do my homework, I had doors to cut down, and my table saw went south. I wanted to wait for a good battery table saw. My only option was a track saw. Festool, Mikita, and some things called Mafell. I chose the Mafell over Mikita, and for $860.00 and $23.00, I was pissed when it showed up without batteries, chargers, or tracks. It was too late in the game to return and get another saw, and since Mafell guaranteed everything on time, i bit the bullet and pulled the trigger. As upset as I was in, I can tell you how pleasant it has been to have this tool. Wednesday, I will be cutting in 3 boxes in an expensive conference room table. One of the features on the saw it identical where the front and back blade is since I will be plunging into a blind hole it is great.
My brother has that saw. I have the Milwaukee version. I've used the Dewalt. I don't like it. Don't like how it engages compared to any other track saw. I've owned Festool too.

I never realized that the corded festool was cheaper. Interesting! I’ll probably look into getting one of those to test it out. Thanks you! 🙌🏾
It depends what type of work do you for a flooring guy cordless is better than dragging around the cord
Video Quality 🔥🔥🔥
Trying to improve one video at a time! Thanks

I believe is because the track itself isn't compatible with the competition out there, I could use a Makita track on a festool saw and vise verse
Thats also another reason why people hate it! Thanks for commenting.
The riving knife is not centered with the blade so it can open the cut as you saw to prevent kick back
Okay, so it is on purpose.. thanks for sharing
Can’t wait to see this saw in action on future projects!
Same here! Stay tuned for my cabinet builds
As of this writing, the only track saw for me is the Mafell MT55.
This is my first time hearing about that one. I’ll have to check it out

It’s the only one I’ve used so far, I can’t wait to get my hands on the Festool. Would you choose the Milwaukee over the festool?
