For me, gold is a hedge against SHTF, therefore it makes zero sense to hold it in an ETC or gold mining stock. I'd rather hold the physical asset and have it ready to go if/when needed

Also I'd recommend the Royal Mint for people in the UK, they tend to be the cheapest from my research

Gold bullion coins from the royal mint are also CGT exempt iirc

Only British bullion is CGT free anything else is taxable.
