So frustrating, researched this and got really excited just to find out you have to be over 18, I'm 18 5 days after the offer finishes!
I just opened a new monzo to get the 200, but they don't let me switch because my card is too new.
That's the problem am getting aswel, opened a First direct and a nationwide account to switch but because the cards expires 2028, they go invalid date

If your old debit card is new and expires 2028, it won't allow you to switch, that's the problem am getting....

I can confirm you have to pay the silver account fee on the 2nd of the month. However, it is prorated so i only paid about £2 instead of £10. Not bad, still £198 profit, and 6 cinema tickets!

So if I opened my account on 12th Feb, got my incentive on 17th Feb but my switch isn’t until 23rd Feb, do you think they would charge for this month?

Andy, great video thanks. I'm now onto my third switch, Coop-Halifax-Lloyds-Santander. £375 better off so far with no fee's, when the Santander acc completes that's another £200.

While we wouldn't be able to comment on any TH-cam videos or their content Gemma, in order to receive the switching offer, you must:
Use the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ to transfer all the active credits and debits from the bank account that you hold with another bank to your Qualifying Account. The ‘Current Account Switch Service’ will close your old account with the other bank; and start your switch from your old bank to your Qualifying Account from the 10/01/2023 and the 07/03/2023.
You are not eligible for the offer if:
You change your existing account to a Qualifying Account, but you do not move your account from another bank using the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ before the switching deadline.

I am not sure every month I am going to pay in 2k to avoid the 3£ club Lloyds monthly fee. Can I set up a standing order of 500 pounds that goes in and out regularly just to reach those 2k a month?

If I just want to use the account as a dummy, can I just transfer in and out 2000 from another account?

How much does the bank charge monthly in switching to silver account? Is the amount offer still available?
Worth pointing out, I have applied for this switch bonus and I'm still waiting for approval. They ask some questions about the insurance benefits, so I presume there are maybe some extra checks to do. So unlike most of the switches I've done you might not get a decision straight away
My missus said no to a couple of those and it refused her, so she redid that bit saying yes and it went through. I said yes to all of it and had no worries.

Hi Andy, I am trying to get to the bottom of the switching game, in short I have already made a couple of switches which obviously results in accounts being closed, I've heard you talk about having a dummy account but surely this does the same whenever you switch? I keep hearing people saying I've made £1000 plus on switching over the course of a year but how are they able to keep this gravy train moving? My first switch was from N/wide to Sant fortunately I still had a savings account with N/wide to be able to re-open a flexdirect - from there I then opened a standard flex account and did a switch with that account to First Direct - surely I can't just keep opening and switching from N/wide like this - I've heard you say something along the lines of becareful doing this (credit score...I think) - Appreciate it if you could advise. I'm not eligible but if you can get this I'd definitely go for the Club Lloyds Silver account, use it to get 6 "free" Odeon tickets, then switch away. Assuming you're charged £10, that's less than £2 a ticket for 6 tickets that won't expire for an entire year! An absolute steal.
They expire after you downgrade or close the account

I got my last switching incentive of £100 on Sep '20 so won't qualify unfortunately.

I used to but got bored when it gave you the search bing 50 times, no thanks. Google for one but also the fact it never registered bing searches on my phone. I used to just search a, b, c, d and 1, 2, 3, 4 lol
@@Goady1000 A quicker way it to just search something on Bing images and click the various suggestions it gives you. Takes about 3 minutes to max out the PC searches and 2 minutes on mobile. I never actually use Bing for my actual searching lmao

I just called Lloyds to upgrade from classic to silver account but they said the offer is only available if you switch from another bank to Lloyds and not for the upgrades.

if you have Llyods account, you need to upgrade to silver account, and then switch from another bank to this silver Llyods account to get the 200£

there is an option in the app when you click on the account and then the three dots it says change account type. i’m pretty sure you can also call and ask to have it downgraded

They only give you the 200 if you switch a different bank to theirs. It doesn't work with upgrade.

Hey Andy, I went in to a Lloyds branch and enquired there about the terms of switching the account back or downgrading it. They told me that if we switch or downgrade to another account, they will take back the £200 and if there’s no money in the account it’ll go into arranged overdraft. Do you think this is true as I haven’t seen this condition anywhere?
Same question. As the person from Lloyds bank told me that I have to hold the silver account for at least 3 months and then you are only allowed to downgrade it or else they will take back the £200. So, May I know shall I downgrade it once I get that £200?

It's a shame unfortunately I can't take part in this my credit score is too low and to be able to qualify for this you have to take an overdraft with the deal

@@liamcatterson9534 I don't remember that ever being a requirement for the switch offers. It's as simple as applying for the account, I did the silver, to be eligible you need to get use of the benefits, such as the insurance.
After that, switch an old account into it from a different bank and it's done. Wait for your money then downgrade to avoid fees.

So I tried to upgrade my club Lloyd's to silver club lloyds but anywhere in the process it ask me if I want to switch. I don't want to pless 'complete upgrade application' without switching. Is it 2 separate processes? If so which one do I do first?

When you switch? Yes sadly it is. So I suggest opening up a “dummy” account to use for switching. Search for it on my channel for a video explaining

I’m no expert but I’m sure that if you use the CASS, which you must to get the bonus, then the original account is shut down completely yes.

Yes you will qualify. I did something similar and used the extra account to just switch it and stay the the bank I really wanted

@@anivolley83 you have to do a full switch not a part switch. Try again! Someone on these thread said they were rejected and tried again answering yes to questions re insurance etc.
Just opened a Monzo dummy for this. Do I need to wait at all or can I switch right away? Also should I make sure to have at least £10 in the account in the event I do get charged?
Yes you can switch straight away. Yeah to be safe you can keep 10£ in the account just incase
Update: You can't switch right away because the Lloyds application form sees the card expiration of 01/28 as invalid since it thinks it's in the future. Have to wait till 1st Feb

If you have a Club Lloyds Silver and use it as you main bank account and pay in £4300 a month the £10 charge is reduced to £8 per month and obviously you don't pay the £3 club fee either so £8 for all the benefits. I am already a Club Lloyds silver account holder and was thinking of opening a dummy account to switch in, do I need to wait for any length of time or just initiate the switch to Lloyds straight away?

When making the switch, you have to put the details of your old accounts debit card, when I put the expiry date, January 2028, it goes invalid date for some reason....
Did the same for me so I changed it to 2027 and it accepted it

FD rejected my MIL (switching from Monzo). I think they're just pricks.

In the last few months I went from Monzo to First Direct to Santander to Nationwide to Lloyds. Went from 631 (excellent) to 614 (good) on Credit Karma. Not arsed though because that's 750 quid.
And correct me I'm wrong but that impact to the score should reverse after a while
@@OEclecticismO The score is some made-up number. Companies can't see it when they credit score you for products, they only care about payment history electoral role etc....
Best way to be sure is to check your credit score. Last i checked my TransUnion score dipped by 4 points after a first direct switch but recovered the next month. Your mileage may vary.

@@ebec908 yes, you can switch from RBS! Once you do the switch it will open the account so no need to open the account first.
You need to switch into Silver, Club Lloyds Silver, Platinum or Club Lloyds Platinum account to get the bonus. There is a fee for each of these account but don’t worry you can downgrade after getting the bonus.

Lloyds and TSB aren't part of the same banking group anymore; TSB's owned by some Spanish bank.
