    Just bought mine and this video was useful in my decision making. I was looking at the top of the line Simpson at Lowe’s as my first choice. I saw one of these when I picked up my Honda lawnmower and I was struck by the finish of the product. It really is a well built machine. The tubular frame is beefy, the high back is great for moving it without bending over, the hose carrier actually keeps the hose in place, the wand carrier keeps the wand in place, and that pump! I had a 3000 PSI Dewault with a AAA pump and it absolutely looks anemic compared to the Mi-T-M pump. Everything about this machine is quality. I wasn’t always a Stihl fanboy....and then I bought a Stihl. Ain’t no looking back after that. Not saying everything else is crap, just saying I don’t have to think much about buying a Stihl. I have three Stihl machines now and each one has surpassed the machine it replaced by a wide margin. This is just my experience, take it or leave it.

    For anyone that doesn't know the rb600 uses a mi-T-M, commercial grade pump and the rb800 uses a AR pump. I have the 600 and put roughly 500 hrs on it last year from my business and the pump and motor run just as new. Mi-T-M is a well known company that builds very high end washers and has some well made if not the best pumps you can buy on the market today. Everyone is quick to say just because it's not a cat pump stihl failed, but do you research and you will soon find Mi-T-M is no junk. Hope this helps others out.

      Very helpful ! I just purchased my RB600 and planned on getting the surface cleaner also. I’m starting my pressure washer business. I was wondering what pump came on this pressure washer and was glad to finally find out. Any questions or recommendations?

    No need to worry about the cleaning detergents you run - the detergent is drawn into the high pressure line AFTER the pump so no detergent passes through the pump. Said another way, the Venturi Effect pulls the fluid out of the bottle and into the high-pressure line after the pump. So there’s no risk to the pump. Stihl recommends flushing with detergent-free water for 5 seconds after using detergent to flush out the draw-line.

    Bought RB200, pheew. Driveway, gate, carport and rock liner clean as new... good buy, easy to use - just a matter of handling it with care now to maximise life. Eats up unleaded fuel for about 20-30min with full tank, but worth every penny. Has some real power behind that hood 👍
    The 2,700 psi on RB200 i think is underrated as is Kohler brand.

    I looked at the stihl pressure washers today at my favorite dealer, the rb800 ,the only thing that they need on it is auto idle ,many times I have had to move or do something to what I am washing and it don't need to just sit there running wide open,other than that it is fine machine , the kolar engine is first class. I only run stihl products and the rb800 is my nextun.

    The fit and finish on these are great, but I wish they would have gone with a triplex pump on the RB400. I like the overall size and price point of that model for my needs.

    Certification is no thing for a dealer, its the warranty cost/buy in for different engine manufacturers that kill dealers from being able to do warranty work. For example, my dealership will not warranty Briggs and Stratton due to the high buy in cost compared to the amount of Briggs warranty issues we have seen. I like Kohler as they warranty easily, without hassle, and pay my billed hours nicely. But Honda parts are just as easy, Kawasaki, STIHl, etc. Just a little insight from a mechanic working on these products everyday.

  • @lsumaniac2485

    AR pump is only used on the 800, there is a model # on the side of the Mi-T-M pump you can search it on the web

      I do not use it daily, But no regrets here. I still think it is the best model all around. The RB600 has the adjustable pressure setting that the 400 does not. The 800 is pretty much a commercial unit. I think you will be very happy with the RB600.

It appears in every case though, Stihl C.S. responded and reached out to assist. Your points about a local authorized repair shop are essential. Can you safely wash a car or truck with the 600 and what attachments would you use?

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can safely wash vehicles with the 600. The 600 has a pressure regulator so you can lower the pressure down a bit for washing cars. I have the Stihl multi function spray nozzle so it makes it easy switching from soap to other degree spray nozzles. I plan I making a few more videos on the different attachments I have for the 600.

    *I'm a huge stihl fan and all my equipment is stihl, I have stihl chainsaws from the 1950s. Anyhow, I was going to buy this rb600 but I couldn't justify the $1000 price with that kholer engine and not a honda. I ended up buying a new simpson 3200psi 2.5 gpm with the honda engine for $350 delivered to my door and I custom painted all of the grey covers orange and white added stihl decals and emblems so it matches all of my stihl equipment. Turned out great and actually looks better than the stihl pressure washers.*

    • @bigtexas7580
      @bigtexas7580 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Doug Deshawn LOL *It's all good man, This is just my own personal collection and I like my equipment to match, look good as well as run good. Real reason I went the route I did as opposed to getting the rb600 instead is because the rb600 weighs 120 lbs VS the 65 lbs my simpson 3200psi 2.5gpm washer weighs which is a substantial weight difference. I just replaced the pump on this simpson with a DAYTON 5ZNT5 3000psi 4.7gpm and it actually works real well with the honda qc190. This engine is under powered according to the pump requirements but it actually is a beast and sprays hard. Way more rinsing water than the stock simpson pump so now I really love this washer. This dayton pump cost $600-$700 but I found mine new and shipped to my door for $220. So for $520 total ($300 for washer and $220 for pump) I now have a washer that's more powerful and nearly half the weight of the rb600, for half the price of the rb600.*

      Garemz If you only plan on using it occasionally to wash cars then you may want to got the RB400 route. The 600 is quite a bit more money. If you don't plan on using it often I would not spend the extra money. That's just my thought tho. The 400 does not have the pressure regulator tho so if that's something you think you need then go with the 600.

    • @garemz
      @garemz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      its a combination of things pressure regulator 50ft of hose quick release fittings better pump. the 600 can go from 150-3200psi the 400 can only do 2700 which i think is a bit to much on cars. waiting on some more videos from you using the 600
