    Hello everyone! In today's video, I'll be talking about the data science job landscape in Amsterdam, the Netherlands: salaries of different data science jobs, benefits, and the Dutch working culture. I have lived and worked in the Netherlands for more than 6 years. I took a Master's in Amsterdam, graduated, got an internship, and fast forward I have had 2 full-time data science jobs since. This video is requested by one of my subscribers, and I had a lot of fun making it! Hope you enjoyed this video and thank you for watching! 👋

      @@Thuvu5 I have a question, how much agesim play a role in getting work over there? I am asking this because I am in mid 30s and have very little experience in data field, but have more experience in other Engineering domain.

    • @Thuvu5
      @Thuvu5  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kashandata I don't think age plays a role in getting a job in the NL. If you have years of experience and skills in another field that are transferable and could be valuable for the job, it will only be an asset :). A lot of my colleagues are in their 30s after finished a PhD or working in another field before working in DS but age really doesn't matter in the job application.

    The great thing about the Netherlands is that it is close to Belgium. Became a contractor in BE (living in the NL), earning double compared to NL for the same work. In the NL everything is extremely cost-oriented and costs are more important than the (quality of) service.

    Hi Thu Vu, thank you for again a wonderful video. You have such a great variety of qualities and skills that you bring to your videos. • @Thuvu5
      @Thuvu5  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, thank you for checking out the video and for your kind words! Indeed the housing market in Amsterdam is quite bad, the demand is much more than the supply. From what I heard, employers do often help with housing to help you relocate to the country. Some employers have connections with housing agents that can facilitate you to find a place. Hope it helps! 🙌🏽

    • @Thuvu5
      @Thuvu5  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, thanks for commenting! I don’t think I have a good answer to this question unfortunately. Private sector usually offers better salaries than public sector but I’d say choose the area you’re most interested as well in because if an industry offers great money but it is boring for you and drains you mentally, it would be a wasted opportunity to learn and progress as a DS. That’s my very opinionated ‘advice’ but hope that helps
