If you like the bands in the video make sure to buy their albums, and if you feel inclined you may tip your server as well. I do not make money off of this channel, so I appreciate donations. ko-fi.com/whatsinameme I do not own the music in the video, it is for educational purposes, as always. Rock on and stay metal!

Before anyone complains, here are some things to know about this list: 1)I excluded instrumentals. Not because I hate them or think they are inferior, but because I personally don't listen to a ton of them, and I also don't play any instruments, so it's hard for me discuss them without clearly demonstrating my ignorance. That is also why my description of the instruments may be a little vague. 2)I tried to make the list as varied as possible, while still being stuff I genuinely listen to. So, yes, there are a couple bands that "aren't really metal". There is also a bit of bias toward Prog Metal and Death Metal. Then again, diehard Prog and Death Metal fans would probably gatekeep my picks and say there aren't ENOUGH Prog and Death metal picks. You can't please everyone. So if you are an elitist expecting 20 obscure black metal albums, or a core bro expecting 20 bands of nothing but breakdowns, I am sorry to disappoint. 3)I can't listen to everything. I'm sure there are plenty of great releases I missed, particularly if they are underground, or in other languages. So feel free to give me suggestions as well. And with that I shall reveal the list below. Spoilers! ... 1)The Agonist: Days Before the World Wept; Quebec, Canada. 2)Accept: Too Mean to Die; Germany. 3)Endseeker: Mount Carcass; Germany. 4)Sumo Cyco: Initiation. Ontario, Canada. 5)Generation Kill: MK Ultra. New York, United States. 6)Unleash the Archers: Abyss; British Columbia, Canada. 7)Celldweller: Satellites; United States. 8)Anaal Nathrak: Endarkenment; England. 9)Epica: Omega; Netherlands. 10)Archspire: Bleed the Future. British Columbia, Canada. 11)Lucifer: Lucifer 3; Germany/Sweden. 12)Negura Bunget: Zau; Romania. 13)Fear Factory: Aggression Continuum; California, United States. 14)Architects: For Those That Wish to Exist; England. 15)Nightrage: Abyss Rising; Greece/Sweden. 16)Testament: Titans of Creation; California, United States. 17)Angelmaker: Sanctum; British Columbia, Canada. 18)Amaranthe: Manifest; Sweden. 19)Black Crown Initiate: Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape; Pennsylvania, United States. 20)Gatecreeper: An Unexpected Reality; Arizona, United States. Honourable mentions: Megadeth: The Sick, The Dying, and The Dead; California, United States. Evanescence: The Bitter Truth; Arkansas, United States. Pathology: The Everlasting Plague; California, United States. Spiritbox: Eternal Blue. British Columbia, Canada. Vildhjarta: Masstaden Under Vatten; Sweden.

@@whatsinameme5258 I hope you like it. I just thought to myself “He said he’s Canadian, what’s a 2022 album I’ve been listening to a lot of?”
You may find people in the comments comparing them to an extremely racist melodic death metal band which preceded them (in terms of style) and while the vocalist has said that that band influenced them quite a bit, they don’t share the same beliefs.
I just know some people would rather not listen to music with certain beliefs, which is cool. Just wanna say I’m not recommending a racist band even if they sound similar to one

@@SeanS1995 Thank you. Sometimes people get a bit carried away with that "guilt by association". Someone called me a "fascist" awhile back just because I referenced Julius Evola as a philosopher. Some people say the same about Nietzsche (who I referenced in this video) but just because you like a few quotes or ideas from them doesn't mean you are in complete agreement with them on everything. Same with this. Just because you like a melodic death metal band, doesn't mean you are politically the same as its band members. Heck, sometimes bandmates don't even have the same politics, like System of a Down for instance. Their singer is left wing, but their drummer is a libertarian. People really like to jump to harsh conclusions fast. Don't have to worry about that with me. I'm pretty chill.
