will this work with a Dell XPS, I have Lenova Docking station 2nd gen, when i press the power button on the docking station it doesn switch on the laptop or switch it off, is it possible to get it working or is it only for Lenova thinkpad laptops ?
Probably not but you can try downloading the driver for your ThinkPad dock and see if that helps. Usually the lenovo laptops come with pre-downloaded drivers for their thinkpads docks and because of this, the device knows how to communicate with the PC. Without it, it's like a car without a driver. Nice car, doesn't move by itself.
Sadly, for me this doesn't work. Do you have any ideas how could I make it work? I have lenovo x1 carbon 3rd gen and bought thinkpad usb 3.0 pro dock that is now connected to my usb port. Thanks
Sometimes it takes awhile so you may need to wait 10 seconds before it turns on. If you press it, doesn't turn on and you press it again, it turns it off so give it up to 10 seconds and you should see your screen turn on. If it doesn't maybe you might need to download the latest lenovo drivers.
