    www.4x4TV.TV first aired in 2001 with coverage of the beginning events in the Extreme Rock Crawling Championships. We still have lots of that classic footage that we will be putting up just to bring a tear to your eyes for the good old days.
    www.4x4TV.TV tested many factory four wheel drive vehicles during our early days and you can see the tests we did all categorized on our website.
    www.4x4TV.TV projected several amazing vehicles including Elsie, our beloved FJ60 that was my family cruiser and remains in the shop to this day - and until the day they plant me in the ground. We also restored and period projected a very nice FJ40 that ended up in the hands of a friend, "On Bottle Dave." Anyone ever run across Dave Yarington (a rabid cruiser enthusiast - okay 'nut') please have him contact me. We also projected a great old Cherokee named Scofield (named after my friend who bought it new and explored many backroads in it). That Cherokee also still remains in my family, now driven by my son-in-law and most likely soon to be my Grandson's daily driver. Proof that good machines never die.
    www.4x4TV.TV also went on some incredible adventures, certainly our favorite thing to do. We traveled a lot of cool trails around southern California as well as the infamous (in the ATV world!) Piute Trail area and of course Moab. What we love most are the scenic trails! You can find them all listed on our website as well.
    www.4x4TV.TV had a few trail tips (which I hope to do more of), abad product reviews on both items for your rig as well as to make your trail experience better.
    Hope to see you out on the trail.

    Thanks for the video. I want to clarify something. When you use a lift kit with a vehicle with solid axles, you don't increase ground clearance since the axle height doesn't change and will remain as the lowest point in ground clearance. Though a lift kit with an independent suspension vehicle will increase ground clearance.

      While a suspension lift on a solid axle machine does not increase the lowest point of the vehicle - the differential, it does lift the rest of the machine and increase the break over angles as well as center and driveline clearances. It also allows for taller tires which will increase the GC at the diffs.
      One thing that many people overlook though is that on a solid-axle machine your differential clearance is always the same. On an IFS (and IRS) vehicle each time a tire hits a rock or stump you lose clearance. Ditto on loading the vehicle.

      4x4TV True, very good point. You must account for change in diff height with suspension travel on independent suspension.

    Hey nice rig mate!! What do you think is better bilstein or OME for the 80???

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +NANDOSANABRIA I love it! I'm not real sure about the shocks since the OME also have the OME springs......I've always been a Bilstein fan but I think the OME ride is better.

    Did you extend the brake lines?

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Not needed with this size lift.

      +NANDOSANABRIA Spent a lot of time making sure what I did was the correct path. To make this 80 even better, it's a very clean machine with under 95,000 miles. Not sure what converts to in kilometers ;-)

      +4x4TV Yup. I've seen them with well over 300,000 and still running fine. It will be a perfect vehicle to explore all the incredible country you have.

      +Hunter Plays Low range and tap the brakes once in a while. A 30-minute long downhill at 3mph is one long downhill...

      +Wesley Snipes It would indeed. It's just something that we hadn't taken the time to do planning on showing them in action on some adventures but never got to that either ;-)
