    www.4x4TV.TV first aired in 2001 with coverage of the beginning events in the Extreme Rock Crawling Championships. We still have lots of that classic footage that we will be putting up just to bring a tear to your eyes for the good old days.
    www.4x4TV.TV tested many factory four wheel drive vehicles during our early days and you can see the tests we did all categorized on our website.
    www.4x4TV.TV projected several amazing vehicles including Elsie, our beloved FJ60 that was my family cruiser and remains in the shop to this day - and until the day they plant me in the ground. We also restored and period projected a very nice FJ40 that ended up in the hands of a friend, "On Bottle Dave." Anyone ever run across Dave Yarington (a rabid cruiser enthusiast - okay 'nut') please have him contact me. We also projected a great old Cherokee named Scofield (named after my friend who bought it new and explored many backroads in it). That Cherokee also still remains in my family, now driven by my son-in-law and most likely soon to be my Grandson's daily driver. Proof that good machines never die.
    www.4x4TV.TV also went on some incredible adventures, certainly our favorite thing to do. We traveled a lot of cool trails around southern California as well as the infamous (in the ATV world!) Piute Trail area and of course Moab. What we love most are the scenic trails! You can find them all listed on our website as well.
    www.4x4TV.TV had a few trail tips (which I hope to do more of), abad product reviews on both items for your rig as well as to make your trail experience better.
    Hope to see you out on the trail.

    Exactly the video I was looking for while deciding on what rear bumper to buy. Thanks! Definitely springing the extra cash for the ARB.

      +Dan Putnam The ARB is incredible compared to the other bumpers out there. My son-in-law chose a Slee and while it looks good and is strong, its operation is like a tractor compared to the ARB......assuming you open your tailgate ;-)

      Yeah, I've been looking at reviews all day and ARB really seems to have there products sorted out for the 80 series. Again, thanks for being so detailed in your video. It was really helpful!

      +Dan Putnam Good to hear. Sometimes we do exactly what we are supposed to ;-)

    Thank you. That's really good equipment that you have on show there.
    An expression about price that I've picked up over the years is that 'quality is it's own reward' and it's actually true.
    My set-up is almost the same plus a high lift jack attachment as part of the fuel can swing away.
    Probably the biggest issue I have is that I'm far less inclined to want to open my rear door, thanks to the hassle of the dual swing away system. But off road there's nothing better.

      @4x4TVTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Blinky You should see how time consuming it is to open the rear doors with other systems. My son-in-law has the Slee and it makes you forget the rear doors ;-)

    Buy once cry once, someone once told me. I've seen people spend a whole lot more trying make a less expensive option work correctly.
    Doug are you going to the 2016 Western Overland Exhibition in Flagstaff this year?
    Check it out if you can fit it your schedule.

      +Walter Sigona That's a great saying..... Gonna try to get to Flagstaff but I really don't do crowds well - I'm more of a get out in the wilds kinda person ;-)

    I have a 2010 Honda CR-V. I fully understand that is not in no way or shape a land cruiser or anything worth off roaring. But I live in NYC and I wish to build something like all wheather warrior. I really love the bad ass looks and function of ur trucks. Any advice for my little honda ?

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first place to start is the tires. I don't know what size the CR-Vs come with but look around for a set of mud and snow tires in a size or maybe two larger. That right there will give that little Honda a better look.

      Edgardo Amado You're going to spend lots of money on making a CR-V "bad ass" just to go over those life-threatening city potholes, right? Genius!

      David Shor 285/75x16 with the OME 2 - 2/1/2" lift. Go to our website and you can see all the videos we did on this, categorized by vehicle......including the tire install and the lift. And more.....

    I went with pro-line one tire carrier two jerry cans and more then half the price plus more departure angle.

      +FJZ80 BOY please give me the website for your bumper please. I find all kind of pro line stuff. I have a 94 FJ80 and it is my first. getting it ready for off road fun. Thank you

      +LeonLovesLemons Butterscotch do some serious investigation on what you are getting for the money. I have not seen the Pro Line product but I know my son-in-law went with a less expensive Slee bumper and we have both been flabbergasted at the differences in how they work.

    • @leonloveslemonsbutterscotc4849
      @leonloveslemonsbutterscotc4849 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have looked at the Slee bumpers and they where very expensive, compared to the ARB Modular. Slee Rear bumper is 2,500 US and ARB Rear Modular is like 1700. What differences do you see, besides the outrageous price for either. ;)

    Why not have one jerry can then do the long pack on the roof with a hose. That should be 11 gallons.

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      A good plan but I'm hoping to get some Rotopax fuel packs that will hold more than 5 gallons on the bumper and use the roof rack's mounts for water. I think Rotopax has something very cool coming that is going to work great.

    • @josenoyola6050

      Or since you no longer have the spare tire under the rig. I'd go to a junk yard and do an auxiliary fuel tank. The jeep ZJ has a 19 gallon tank and would be a perfect candidate.
      That is my plan for my '12 Frontier Pro-4x CCSB

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Noyola They actually make auxiliary fuel tanks for some of these rigs but they are EXPENSIVE! Even purchasing a rectangular tank might work...

    Jesus Christ man. How many times do you have to open and close those "arms"?

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ducati Racer If you have ever opened or closed any other rear bumper arms you'd realize that you cannot operate these enough ;-)

    The ARB bumper has to be the ugliest, clunkiest rear bumper. 4X4Labs & Slee off road bumpers are better.

    • @4x4TVTV
      @4x4TVTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      All you will need to do to change your mind is park three vehicles next to each other out on the trail and use the bumpers. 4x4Labs and Slee look like they are made my somebody in their garage compared to the factory feel and working of the ARB.

      4x4TV right...just like my professionally crafted arb front bull bar started rusting in the seems a few months after I installed it. ARB products are mostly hype. I am convinced. I should have purchased the ironman bullbar instead.
