The reason simba is so protective of kiara is becuase of the death of Kopa, Which zira VARY BADLY HURT and so the outlanders were banished. Edit: yes i know kopa died and isnt kanon chill.
Zira did try to kill Kopa but he survived and lived in the desert. Also Zira and the outlanders where banished because they beleived that Simba was not the rightful king and attacked him.

It's weird going back and re-watching Lion King 2 knowing that Lion Guard is now technically canon. Like, when the lions all have that big showdown in the rain and they're all killing each other, it's like, "Kion, where the f^ck are you? There is a lot of fan lore about Kopa, Simba and Nala's first son, and even a theory that Zira and her family were banished because Zira killed Kopa. IDK how canon any of that is, but I have to admit I do like it.
Rebecca Birch he doesn't vanish with no explanation. He is bleeding out and goes unconscious. Simba find him and think that he is dead. Kopa then wakes up days later. He pulls a Simba and decides to run away instead of returning to Pride Rock. He then returns as an adult.
Technically if you want to count that books series with Kope in it, Simba would have had 3 cubs. Zira supposedly killed Kopa and he fell in love with Vitani and so on. I really hate that they added Kion to the children's show and totally changed Kiaras personality. Real annoying Disney XD
Ya I know the second part of that was made by fans, but I still think it's a cute idea that kopa and vitani are together and Kovu and Kiara are together as well. Kovu and Kiara are my favorite lion king Couple by far. I hate that they added Kion though, no offense to people who like the show their entitled to their opinion as I am mine.

Kopa is not canon, and is a glorfyed fan character that got published. Disney literally denies his existence to all those asking. No Zira wasn't exiled for killing kopa, she was exiled for going against Simba.

I so agree. I wish it was about Kovu and Kiara's cub (also I hated how they designed the darn cub too). It would've been better and wished the animation was like how they did Timon and Pumbaa.

@@Sedow1231 Rafiki and Zazu have known kings since before Mufasa. But Lions don't really live that long(most live, if they are in a powerful pride to like 10/11 MAYBE) usually 6-7 years is their lifespan. We outlived hundreds upon HUNDREDS of Lion generations. Zazu and Rafiki have longer lifespans than Lions, this could be due to their animals diets.

@@i_know_the_truth2724 I would say our diets, and the way our bodies operate allow us to live beyond the mortal years of a Lion in nature. While our current society is a controlled one, and therefore safer than any, we still technically live "in the wild". So we know what we can do to prolong our life spans and give us long lasting life. But let's use humans that would have lived in the wild like a Lion.. Humans would live only til the age of 30, if they were lucky, and some would live even longer than that but it would be rare. Eating vegetation and meat gives humans the advantage, we have protein which builds our muscles faster, and then vegetation that helps provide useful vitmans. So we outlive Lions. Since they only eat meat and that doesn't actually help sustain a body for too long.
I know Kopa is an unofficial character, but I read on a website long ago that at the time he was born, Zira was devastated by the death of Scar and decided to avenge him by killing Simba's first born. It would also explain why Simba was extremely overprotective of Kiara and sent Timon and Pumba to watch out for her most of the time. By the way good job with the vid!

It's possible, but there's no clear indication. Some believe it's Scar, bc he's the only male lion with green eyes (Nala has blue-green eyes) or like he said, it could be an unknown lion.

It really felt like you were telling about a real kingdom's history. :) All of this technically can be pulled together as "Disney's The Lion King" - but it's just not Disney canon apart from the animated format's parts. But Kopa was never ever meant to be the cub at the end of the first film. Literally never, starting all the way from his creation for the books. If someone wanted really truly DISNEY's vision of The Lion King world's storyline then only the characters and events from the first two Lion King films should be a part of this because the book universe was not created by Disney and Disney never meant them to link to their movies' storylines. And even Kion is an arguable mention because he exists in a spin-off TV show that isn't even titled The Lion King but The Lion Guard. No, I don't consider "Return of the Roar" a movie as it's only 45 minutes long and meant as a pilot episode for the TV series. And even if it was literally a Lion King movie it could not really be alined with the first two movies' storyline because it full-blown contradicts "The Lion King 2" in major in-story matters. As much as it is official Disney canon, in my view it's not their movie universe canon. Like, when pulling together a Disney canon storyline the lineage depends on how technical you want to get and/or how much logic you want to apply to your lineage. I personally prefer as much logic as possible. :P Personally, I always have ignored the books as they weren't created by Disney and never tied into the films by them. And rather preferred to imagine my own original backstory and continuity instead of using something that is technically other outsiders' visions no matter how much approved by Disney's marketting division for merchandise. And still do prefer my own imagination, what with Disney choosing to crap on the movies with The Lion Guard instead of creating sensical and logical continuity. :)
Personally, I believe that if Mohatu, Ahadi and Uru are gonna be counted, then Kopa shouldn't be removed. Mainly because Ahadi and Uru were created for the books that Kopa originated in as well. I say just put Kopa in there and explain what happened. Some people like to say Zira killed him and that explains a lot of plot holes in the Lion King 2. Personally, I like to believe that Zira attacked him, but he got away and would return years later. The fanfiction series by Asante did an excellent job bringing him back into the story until the Lion Guard cocked things up. But that's where Incarnate Firefly's Kopa's Legacy series comes in because that brings Kion in to the story as well.

amanogirl1 so do I. I believe that Scar and Zira had a cub which was Nuka. Scar saw Nuka as weak and Zira was heart broken and ran away. During this time he mated with Nala and she had Vitani. One Simba returns and Scar is defeated, Nala gives Vitani to Zira.
I like the theory that Nuka, the older of Zira's cubs is actually Scar's child. However because of his obvious mental and physical disadvantages Scar doesn't name him as heir even though he's first born and instructs Zira to find a lion to father another cub who was strong. Then she produced Kovu and Vitani, Kovu being the ideal choice for an heir. Because of the line Nuka says regarding Kovu not being Scar's son, Nuka has a LOT of resentment towards his younger brother. I like the theory personally.

@Erik It doesn't matter how you look at it. If Musafa was not the father, he would have outcasted Serafina and killed Nala. In an early draft, they made Serafina and Sarabi sisters... but they took them out because of incest, but overlooking one simple fact that if Mufasa isn't the father of the Prides cubs, he would have killed them all, since that is how the Lion world works.
@@nickdentoom1173 sometimes it doesn't work like that. I watched a documentaty and the lioness didn't back down when it came to protecting their cubs from two or three male lions. Eventually the male lions accepted the cubs as part of the pride.
@@marie.naturallysims2179 It depends on how old the cubs are. If they're closer to 2 years old, they don't have anything really to fear. But if they're 1 or younger, male lions will kill them. If females are desperate enough to keep their cubs alive, they'll leave with their cubs and become outcasts.

Not quite, kovu and Vitani are siblings (given their age being virtually the same) and Nuka being older seems to line up with the timeline as being Scar’s son. The way Kovu speaks of Scar in the second movie implies that he was probably too young to have met him and remembered.
From what I have heard, Zira mated with an unknown male lion and conceived Kovu. She was threatened by Scar, to give him a powerful heir or he would kill her. She found another male lion, almost identical to Scar, had a lion cub and presented Kovu to Scar as his powerful heir! But Nuka and Vitani are his cubs. Nuka is pretty obvious on his physical features and Vitani is all Zira, even when you do a side by side of Vitani and Scar, Vitani has Scar's eyes and jaw line.

he was "elected" the king for the animals because he (mohatu) took them out of a terrible drought and solved all the problems of the pride lands, so he gained the highest respect and admiration of the animals that considered him a leader, and then when he died he became the brightest star, and from there all beings in the pride lands believed that the star would guide them whenever they had a problem

I think that Scar was Zira's mate, and Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani are his kids, because there is no indication whatsoever (that I've seen) to another lion that could potentially be their father in any of the movies, or the TV show. And it does kind of make sense that Scar picked Kovu to follow his path, because that's how Mufasa became king. I know that it mainly went that way because Mufasa was the 1st born son of Ahadi and Uru, but still. And just something random; if Kovu is in fact Scar's son, then wouldn't he be Simba's cousin? Also, for 3:12, Nala's father is probably either Mufasa or Scar, because prides will only have up to 2-3 males at one time, which means that one of them had to mate with Sarafina, who was a friend of Sarabi, which means they are all most likely in the same pride together. Yeah.
But in the movie you can hear Nuka say "Scar wasn't even his father, he just took him in" so Kovu isn't the son of Scar, Nuka and Vitani might be his kids because there is nothing to go against that theory but Kovu for sure wasn't Scar's kid.

When I first heard of the lion guard I thought is was a good idea because I feel like they should make a movie explaining scars story. However I did feel like adding a son for simba was random because he wasn't a character in the lion king 2 so nobody knows his story.
Wasn't random at all. In fact, during Simba's Pride production, Simba had two cubs. Kiara, then Aisha, and a son named Chaka who was later deleted due to conflict of plot. I suspect they recycled Chaka into Kion when they developed the Lion Guard later.

In lion guard, there was an episode where Nala's father was mention, and it was made clear that was not Mufasa, even if they don't give him canon name.
Kopa and 6NA isn't canon. It's glorified published fanfiction. Disney recently acknowledged this when they revealed the real story behind Zira's banishment in The Lion Guard episode Lions of the Outlands. Turns out, Zira threw a shit fit when Simba told her Scar wasn't the true king, and she attacked him. This brash action causes her to be exiled.
KashimusPrime Kopa is more canon than The Lion Guard. The series is rife with inconsistencies such as The Roar, Scar being in charge of the lion guard, and a Christmas themed episode. There is no logic at all. Kopa at least remains true to the text and never seems out of place.
I think it was strongly implied that Kovu was Scars son. I think theorists don't want to acknowledge that b/c that would mean Kovu and kiara are like 2nd cousins. which tbh is one of the less gross things real lions do.
My bad, hadn't seen that movie in a while, just going off memory. though to be fair in the original LK film the only male lions were Mufasa Scar and Simba, heavily implying that this pride went by real world rules where there's only two or three males at most in any given pride. meaning that most of the pride is related in some way.

I'm really happy that someone is digging deeper into the lion king. The lion King has been one of my favorites since I was little, and I've always been interested in the fan theories.
Okay, so I'm not usually into these kinds of videos, but... I HAVE to comment on this one. Okay, first off, this is a Disney movie, which ANYONE knows that Walt Disney himself, took many of his classic movies, such as the Lion King and fairytale types, and made them his own, with MANY twist and variations from the ancient originals. That being said, my thoughts are thus... In the movies they leave A LOT of stuff out, normally found in life and nature. For this one for example, real lion packs ONLY have 1 lion that resides over several lionesses, and will run off other male lions, even those are their own offspring. Which generally means that in this case, even though in the movie there is no true mention of who Kovos father really is, it could ONLY be 1 of 2 possibilities, 1) Kovo is Mufasa's son and there for Simba's younger brother. Or, 2) Scar was IN FACT Kovo's real father. Which might make more sense to me, as Zira was IN FACT, IN LOVE with Scar. This is my opinion and view on it all. Thank you

Scar was at least Nuka's father. That much is hinted at in the second movie, but it does state that Scar wasn't Kovu's father. Since Vitani and Kovu are about the same age, they probably had the same father. But, Simba and Nala never had a son. Kiara was their only child, and that is confirmed by the creators. She is the same cub shown at the end of the first movie.
Emmanuella Udofia the creators stated that it was the same cub. Whether they look different or not, the creator makes the call. Nala was their only cub.

i really like the lion guard, if they were going to do the correct route in a retell of the lion king feature films, just ignore the donald glover live action mess, and do a direct to tv remake of the animated version, that connects well with the lion guard, but would add new things to the tv adapts of those movies as well, as well as change stuff, for example, it would be cool if they have like a detective story emphasis rather than focusing on scar heavily, like you could shove references of macgyver into lion king like have lions build stuff for other animals,, and have simba narrate to the audience like a fourth wall thing

While our current society is a controlled one, and therefore safer than any, we still technically live "in the wild". So we know what we can do to prolong our life spans and give us long lasting life.
But let's use humans that would have lived in the wild like a Lion.. Humans would live only til the age of 30, if they were lucky, and some would live even longer than that but it would be rare.
Eating vegetation and meat gives humans the advantage, we have protein which builds our muscles faster, and then vegetation that helps provide useful vitmans. So we outlive Lions. Since they only eat meat and that doesn't actually help sustain a body for too long.
I know Kopa is an unofficial character, but I read on a website long ago that at the time he was born, Zira was devastated by the death of Scar and decided to avenge him by killing Simba's first born. It would also explain why Simba was extremely overprotective of Kiara and sent Timon and Pumba to watch out for her most of the time.

It really felt like you were telling about a real kingdom's history. :) All of this technically can be pulled together as "Disney's The Lion King" - but it's just not Disney canon apart from the animated format's parts. But Kopa was never ever meant to be the cub at the end of the first film. Literally never, starting all the way from his creation for the books.
If someone wanted really truly DISNEY's vision of The Lion King world's storyline then only the characters and events from the first two Lion King films should be a part of this because the book universe was not created by Disney and Disney never meant them to link to their movies' storylines. And even Kion is an arguable mention because he exists in a spin-off TV show that isn't even titled The Lion King but The Lion Guard. No, I don't consider "Return of the Roar" a movie as it's only 45 minutes long and meant as a pilot episode for the TV series. And even if it was literally a Lion King movie it could not really be alined with the first two movies' storyline because it full-blown contradicts "The Lion King 2" in major in-story matters. As much as it is official Disney canon, in my view it's not their movie universe canon. Like, when pulling together a Disney canon storyline the lineage depends on how technical you want to get and/or how much logic you want to apply to your lineage. I personally prefer as much logic as possible. :P
Personally, I always have ignored the books as they weren't created by Disney and never tied into the films by them. And rather preferred to imagine my own original backstory and continuity instead of using something that is technically other outsiders' visions no matter how much approved by Disney's marketting division for merchandise. And still do prefer my own imagination, what with Disney choosing to crap on the movies with The Lion Guard instead of creating sensical and logical continuity. :)
Personally, I believe that if Mohatu, Ahadi and Uru are gonna be counted, then Kopa shouldn't be removed. Mainly because Ahadi and Uru were created for the books that Kopa originated in as well. I say just put Kopa in there and explain what happened. Some people like to say Zira killed him and that explains a lot of plot holes in the Lion King 2. Personally, I like to believe that Zira attacked him, but he got away and would return years later. The fanfiction series by Asante did an excellent job bringing him back into the story until the Lion Guard cocked things up. But that's where Incarnate Firefly's Kopa's Legacy series comes in because that brings Kion in to the story as well.

I like the theory that Nuka, the older of Zira's cubs is actually Scar's child. However because of his obvious mental and physical disadvantages Scar doesn't name him as heir even though he's first born and instructs Zira to find a lion to father another cub who was strong. Then she produced Kovu and Vitani, Kovu being the ideal choice for an heir. Because of the line Nuka says regarding Kovu not being Scar's son, Nuka has a LOT of resentment towards his younger brother. I like the theory personally.

In an early draft, they made Serafina and Sarabi sisters... but they took them out because of incest, but overlooking one simple fact that if Mufasa isn't the father of the Prides cubs, he would have killed them all, since that is how the Lion world works.

I think that Scar was Zira's mate, and Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani are his kids, because there is no indication whatsoever (that I've seen) to another lion that could potentially be their father in any of the movies, or the TV show. And it does kind of make sense that Scar picked Kovu to follow his path, because that's how Mufasa became king. I know that it mainly went that way because Mufasa was the 1st born son of Ahadi and Uru, but still. And just something random; if Kovu is in fact Scar's son, then wouldn't he be Simba's cousin? Also, for 3:12, Nala's father is probably either Mufasa or Scar, because prides will only have up to 2-3 males at one time, which means that one of them had to mate with Sarafina, who was a friend of Sarabi, which means they are all most likely in the same pride together. Yeah.
But in the movie you can hear Nuka say "Scar wasn't even his father, he just took him in" so Kovu isn't the son of Scar, Nuka and Vitani might be his kids because there is nothing to go against that theory but Kovu for sure wasn't Scar's kid.

When I first heard of the lion guard I thought is was a good idea because I feel like they should make a movie explaining scars story. However I did feel like adding a son for simba was random because he wasn't a character in the lion king 2 so nobody knows his story.
Wasn't random at all. In fact, during Simba's Pride production, Simba had two cubs. Kiara, then Aisha, and a son named Chaka who was later deleted due to conflict of plot. I suspect they recycled Chaka into Kion when they developed the Lion Guard later.

Okay, so I'm not usually into these kinds of videos, but... I HAVE to comment on this one.
Okay, first off, this is a Disney movie, which ANYONE knows that Walt Disney himself, took many of his classic movies, such as the Lion King and fairytale types, and made them his own, with MANY twist and variations from the ancient originals. That being said, my thoughts are thus...
In the movies they leave A LOT of stuff out, normally found in life and nature. For this one for example, real lion packs ONLY have 1 lion that resides over several lionesses, and will run off other male lions, even those are their own offspring. Which generally means that in this case, even though in the movie there is no true mention of who Kovos father really is, it could ONLY be 1 of 2 possibilities, 1) Kovo is Mufasa's son and there for Simba's younger brother. Or, 2) Scar was IN FACT Kovo's real father. Which might make more sense to me, as Zira was IN FACT, IN LOVE with Scar. This is my opinion and view on it all. Thank you

Scar was at least Nuka's father. That much is hinted at in the second movie, but it does state that Scar wasn't Kovu's father. Since Vitani and Kovu are about the same age, they probably had the same father.
But, Simba and Nala never had a son. Kiara was their only child, and that is confirmed by the creators. She is the same cub shown at the end of the first movie.

i really like the lion guard, if they were going to do the correct route in a retell of the lion king feature films, just ignore the donald glover live action mess, and do a direct to tv remake of the animated version, that connects well with the lion guard, but would add new things to the tv adapts of those movies as well, as well as change stuff, for example, it would be cool if they have like a detective story emphasis rather than focusing on scar heavily, like you could shove references of macgyver into lion king like have lions build stuff for other animals,, and have simba narrate to the audience like a fourth wall thing
