Summer 2022 layout update

I have been away from the layout for about 4 months, this is a brief update mainly on loco and stock additions over the last few months.
Due to not running trains since May the track was pretty dirty so could not conduct a running session today.

Hi Dave great update. The summer months are always quiet for me also so know where you're coming from. You've certainly acquired some great new stock to the layout. I'm also very impressed by the accurascale quality and I've purchased a few things now. As for sound I've been impressed by roads and rails as you do get a speaker upgrade, he wires it all up for you so it's sort of plug and play. Enjoyed ghe update atb Andy

Hi Andy, I was really pleased with my purchases. Accurascale wagons ae superb and at a really good price. Thanks for your recommendation of roads and rails, I will look into getting a couple of my locos sound fitted, the Deltic for sure. ATB David

Hi Dave, good to see you back on the layout. We all need a break from the layout especially in the summer months but we all come back when things cool down a bit in the loft :) You've aquired a very nice collection of new locos there and I look forward to another of your running sessions when the track is cleaned and everything is up and running again. I know exactly what you mean, look forward to see the Deltic, run layout is looking great, its quite a lot of work keeping a layout of this size and complexity going, theres a lot more to railway modelling than people imagine, always plenty of track maintenance to do................Colin.

Some Good fleet additions, I did manage to buy several TTs chips from a model shop, turned out to be to ggod to be True, it was a shame site, but did get my money back via Credit card and managed to track down one of the last TTs chips for a 60. I did bag a deltic but sent it back for repair i`ve just put a vid up on it`s return. Enjoy the track cleaning.😁

Hi Dave nice new collection of loco’s and wagons to add to your collection and I know what you mean about the price of sounds sometimes more than the loco itself cheers Al

Hi Al, glad you like the collection of locos and wagons. I am not prepared to pay over £110.00 to add sound to Hornby class 60's especially when the Drax 60 I only paid about £115.00 . Will run them without sound for now and only add sound if I can find a fair priced TTS sound decoder. ATB David

Also fun fact: the Drax class 60 never pulled the Drax wagons! There was some issue connecting them I think so GBRF had to alter their 60s to make hem compatible which DB didn’t do, hence the DB 60s never puller Drax wagons! Only 66s! So don’t worry about trying to shell out on them! Also Hornby are running the new Drax livery wagons for 50 quid each.

Thank you for the fun fact, got some GBRF 66's. Hornby are going to release some new Drax wagons but only through tier one retailers and I cant find one that has not already sold its expected allocation. ATB David

@@warwickroadmodelrailway yeah they're so hard to find - many stores aren't selling until they arrive so keep your eyes open for them!

I agree Hornby 60 is one of their best diesels - another is their 67 I think both are fantastic and both you can actually see all the way through them like in the real things!

I never really looked at the 67, but yes the 60 is a very good loco, its a shame Hornby haven't given it an update
