The peanut butter and pretzel dough are coextruded and then portioned with a blunt blade to make a seal. Baked, glazed, salted, cooled then packed.
It's a process called co-extrusion - basically, an outer tube pumps out pretzel dough, while an inner tube pumps out peanut butter filling onto a conveyor belt. The whole thing is then sliced up and baked in a giant 100-foot oven.

Another thing I've noticed Elizabeth is there is a common thread among all the youtube channels that I follow, such as yours, Sailing Uma, Finding Avalon, Mermaid Monster, Happy Together, Searching for C-Shels, Magic Carpet, Project Atticus, Millennial Falcon, Tula's Endless Summer and the list goes on. They all have a beautiful, intelligent amazingly capable woman holding it all together. I hope there's at least one left in the world. I'm still looking. 😊 FYI, I guarantee Shawn would never trade places with Bill Gates. He is richer that Gates will ever be. You guys are a great couple and hope to meet you both one of these days.

You’re making me jealous. I grew up on Lake Washington, south of Bellevue and attended UW before heading East. I still love the area.
I liked the creative answers to the pretzel question. The boring answer is. There are 3 layers to the pretzel. 1st layer dough, then comes the PB then a layer on top. It then goes through a press cutter , that presses the edges and cuts the shape.
My kind of cruisers , low stress, low drama...

I grew up around Moss Bay, Yarrow Bay, the foot of Queen Anne on the Lake Union side. Went thru the locks a number of times on my dad's sailboat. This video takes me back to those days and I appreciate it. Happy travels and thanks for the memories.

I left Seattle and Puget Sound in 1972, good place to be from. I remember sitting in my dorm watching all the lights crossing the floating bridge and realized that was not the life for me. I did return this summer for a week of sea kayaking in the San Juans. Ok to visit but Central Oregon Cascades are home now, fewer people. Great video and memories.

The pretzel dough is formed around a pellet of peanut butter, probably frozen and then baked. Beautiful home you have!

Kirkland is a great place!!! Tie up right downtown! Lots of good restaurants. As for the locks--You Have to pick your times!! I have a 48' Shane that I travers the lock single handed. Never had a problem but I also time it that way. I also do NOT go at times that include going through the large lock.
Interesting use of split screen - fun vid to watch. I always play this little game....what do they do for a living? I had Shawn as an airline pilot - due to his tech and nav capabilities and Elizabeth as a Marketing Director for a high profile industry in the tech community. Blew me away when you posted your real careers.
Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Kirkland in the 60’s & 70’s. Miss the PNW. We are in Fort Meyers Yacht Basin awaiting better days. Set another record for a temp of 95 down here today.

Now that's the way to go through the locks. I've been on the reverse commute many times, after race day and, although it's really entertaining to watch the drunks open up, coming out of the locks with fenders flying and, then sit in the locks getting rafted while the tourists laugh at all the drunks and newbs trying to get settled while flocks of sea gulls dive bomb the boats, crapping on anything that moves, I've always thought of it as a way to test a relationship that's pretty foolproof. BTW, it was hard to stay tough, watching Sandy again.
The locks looked like they were quite the tourist destination.

Just an FYI as a fellow tug captain and locking more times that I can count, commercial vessels have priority over pleasure vessels (unless there's 4+ boats waiting for some time). Usually the larger commercial vessels and barges 100+tons hang behind bridge 4 but when we move towards locks, it means the locks radio to me to head in. So for the sake of your fancy white boat, let's save the paint and give a little more room. Thanks a million.
Larry, question for you. I was entering the locks on my sailboat coming from the Puget Sound side. Commercial vessels were waiting on the Sound side of the train bridge. The bridge was raised. I was not sure what to do. Is it considered ok for me to pass the waiting commercial vessels and get to the other side of the bridge? I would then wait for the commercial vessels to enter the locks. Or, should I just wait behind the commercial vessels?

Lol, I have a boat on the Columbia River. Im thinking I need to make how to cruise on a budget video. It could be helpful for less fortunate boaters. I could Indentify the marina's that take food stamps and have free pumpouts. :thumbsup::smile:
@@markbrown332 you definitely should. Include food and getting regular retail food and not the more upscale.. wealthy people are wealthy.. Others have to be more prudent. In areas not so heavily regulated you fished off your boat and ate it..that's how you lived.

As far as I'm concerned I feel you guys are at least kin to bill gates cause you are living an absolute dream at least for me ,cause you are healthy and happy and doing life , instead of just getting by .God's graced you with the time to really slow down and breathe. JohnJacobJingleHimer Schmit yes that’s the plan. We’re starting next summer in Alaska and then from there we’ll head down the west coast before cruising the east coast. We’d love to cross the Pacific first but there aren’t many islands/countries that allow dogs without a long quarantine (even Hawaii sad to say)!

MV Freedom You kids are very lucky. And I wish you all a safe passage everyday. Ladonna and our sailing dreams abruptly stopped, “Breast Cancer” Priorities changed. 3 years and 4 Horrific Chemo treatments later the last scan showed it in her spine now with a vengeance. 2 years max.. Really doc... Is this my fate, to watch the woman I love waste away. I refuse to believe that. And even if it is so, I choose that life, every time, again, and again, and again.... My advice to any young couple would be to make now matter. make now the most important time. For now, will never come again. And the best anyone can ever hope for is to end up with the right regrets. Have a wonderful time in Alaska. We look forward to the video...

Insane how loud that ONE engine is, for the money spent on this level of vessel to not have a quieter engine is shameful. Who the fuck wants to travel the world next to the sound of a tractor? And that's WITH an elevated pilothouse, clearly Nordhavn didn't put enough effort into muffling their engines.
The more weight you add to a boat more fuel you're going to consume. There is soundproofing on the engine room but only so much can be done with those big engines. I was just on a 63 footer today that had twin diesel engines for a combined 1600 horsepower and they were pretty loud but there's not much you can do
