This game has probably my current favorite ship building system.
Honor the sunfish, your first ship, and name it an aquatic creature; I suggest "the kraken" because if you look from above it looks like a squid🐙
It seems lathrix really likes the ship building, also Lath I has an idea for you! Why not if you still have them, make a compilation of all the 'building' sections at the end so we can see the growth of your ships from the very beginning?

this game always calms me down from a busy day at work...totaly love the atmosphere and u can do what ever u wanna to do, exploring, building, be a pirate, be a miner, trading....just love it.

For added glow on the side glowy bits, turn on bloom in the options menu. I put these on the back of my engines, and it really helps them glow that extra little bit. plus, it looks really good.

CONGRATS!! Your ship is now bigger (in population) then the town I grew up in!
something ive noticed is whether or not traders come into the region depends entirly on how many stations there are, and the price of goods (i think), so if you find an area of resource rich asteroids and build a base there, traders will come more often with each station. so if you put every kind of station imaginable, you should quickly become a popular trade area. and you would have all you need in one area presumably (unfortunately this also seems to increase the chances and sizes of pirate raids in that area as well), and i think you get credits for every trade as a owners cut.

I love the design, especially the slim boat look, and the bar going across the sides
your ship s like a city, probably there is generations that will born in that ship and live forever in as part of the ship
Use glow blocks behind the hologram block to create an intense shine! Change the colors of both blocks to create some really cool effects!
Love the open air swimming pools on the top deck! The name 'The Brute' isn't really fitting of this luxury cruise liner! :)

lathrix I think that your ship would be classed as a small/medium city at this point considering that the "bridge" alone could house 1000 people by its self

Lathrix you can get a mod from the forum that lets you dock with a station by just being close enough. Also pretty please put your ship on the forum once you are done with it.

Man, I do like your building style, be it FTD or Avorion. You give your crafts their own nice flair, use the effects of functional blocks for nice looks and don't overgreeble your creations because "MUH DETAIL". They always have that wonderful blend of form and function.

That feeling when you double the size off the ship
I just jumped into this video after seeing EnterElysium build his first ship in his second episode because I wanted to see what the later parts of the game hold in store so far. I was not sure about the size of your ship until you compared it to the mining drone... now I am impressed.
If it comes down to it you can set up some stations in the same zone of the Turret Factory your using so you make all your supplies needed to build your turrets.
Well this was a pleasant surprise to wake up to. Thank you.
I found a turret factory that produced Railguns that did 2300dmg per shot at a good fire rate. WITH INDEPENDENT TARGETING! Only problem is the range is at 4, but I built 20 of them. So everything under a Battleship is a 1 shot kill. =) The thing is, grinding for the parts took forever!

Hey Lathland, I think you should fix the nose by making it a pyramid with large hole in the middle with a large glow block inside there.
Just a tip rail guns are really good versus bosses but if you do use them on the last boss it tends to get laggy after you shoot and hit the boss with the rail guns it has a ton of blocks
Lag level is equivalent to using about 64 TNT in Minecraft all at once
A little tip I have for turrets is that the tech level directly affects the damage and energy usage.
I actually LOVE the look of the Brute right now.

Just want to say I love your vids and you should try scrolling your mouse wheel on the toolbar,where the building blocks are at.It will change the blocks and you won't have to go in the menu to change blocks ;)
You should have some chain guns scattered around with independent targeting for point defence against fighters
you can make fighters without the life bug by creating a new ship out a tiny block delete the base block and build from there but be sure to have an efficient jump drive and a captain so you won't lose it

I definitely believe that Avorion is the best space game ever created.
You could make the hologram blocks that you were having trouble deciding between grey and white into an orange color, to simulate a type of heat relief for the engines?

i noticed that trinium solar panels are good for system upgrades aswell. very light and gives standard hp.
Also, the Brute needs more hangar bays!!! Particularly on the flanks and bottom
You should keep safe mode on, because you might accidentally delete your entire ship, all it does is stop you from deleting the ships core(if the ships core is selected and click delete it'll stop you)
Oh! How wonderful! Lath, now you have built a "missile silo" of tiny little fighters that you can command to attack your targets...

Nice ship :) Mine right now is way less powerful and certainly not as good looking but I got my hands on some ogonite even outside of the rift which can be transformed into armor, giving me a lot of health.

Does the independent targeting turret factory make homing launchers? High end clusters of those would be seriously long range and massive damage. Also aren't rail guns long range? With independent targeting of those they wouldn't miss.
Wait... I thought logging out and back in would reset all the stock on stations. Or am I confused about something?
