Ok I dont care what anyone says. I'll choose a Authoritarian overlord with clean water and a bed for me to sleep in over squatting in abandoned ruins at risk of being killed the wasteland's numerous horrors any day.
@@Ryanfinder226 I still hold that it's valid even in the context of an apocalypse. Freedom is dangerous it always will be and it's not for the weak or the timid regardless of the state of the world
I just wish this was the world for an MMORPG where you could be a minuteman and climb the ranks, be a part of Joel's mafia, or just live, It'd play almost same as fallout 4 with minor changes. Dave would still be Dave and Joel would still be Joel.
It was a mod released months ago... And this map was released a shorter amount of months ago. Don't say It was just released when we all know that's a lie.
Joel and I are back with the tour of The Castle build's interior followed by a test of the defenses with a massive robot attack! 100 points to whoever can tally the total number of propaganda pieces in this build or how many times Joel leans back in horror at all of the detail.
the only thing I would suggest to your castle build is a dock area by where the water pump is when you get the place. I built a dock with store house and a multi-storey building to get to the top of the wall, I pretend that's where my minute man naval fleet comes to restock. Oh yeah another Idea you could do is build a Air Base for the minute man vertibirds, star light drive is a good spot for that
I want to live in the Castle. I may overthrow the General if he becomes a threat to democracy, but I like the stability and safety. Also, Joel is the perfect example of why I hate capitalism.
Honestly Dave's minutemen is the most accurate minutemen. Really a Government of soldiers led by a general as supreme leader. Even if the canon Fallout 4 main character is all good and pure.....eventually one of his successors is gonna go Fascist. Dave is jsut being realistic and going fascist/Military Junta from the get go lol. but yeah between the Minutemen and the NCR the Legion better get ready to sweat lol
Or better yet, the aptly-named "Republic of Dave" from Fallout 3! On that note, I'd love to see Dave include a museum dedicated to his life and adventures in one of his builds, like the FO3 Dave had in one of his buildings... complete with a guided tour, information plaques, a souvenir shop, and of course way too many statues, paintings, and posters of General Dave in all his glory!
Man I remember watching your videos back in high school and just being awestruck by the time and effort you put into every one of your builds. Truly immaculate. Just wanted to come back and tell you how much I appreciate them!
The Minutemen Anthem: We started thee, thou Minutemen, to protect, to serve We put in thee posters, to signify our rule Our lord and savior General Dave is hope, for he is a god, for he is immortal, and he will live.. forever.
+Joao Martins but Somerville will kind of make sense as a outpost. In my play through I used Conquest to build somerville as a outpost for the BoS and Minutemen. Also locations around the general area of it to control the flow of creatures and the Children of Atom flowing in from DC.
I would to see you and Oxhorn make a lore freindly settlement or lore forum togather. Oh are maybe how about my idea of joel the Nuka world overboss video.
I really wanna see what you can do with the mechanist's lair, turning it into a huge armory/power armor storage place or something else. Would be sick seeing your take on it.
As a fan of roman history and imperialist, I would love to see posters encouraging the masses to use the latin word "Imperator" to describe the player as it means great general. Would feed into the ego perfectly. A title given to all of Rome's emperors this is also where we get the english word "Emperor" from.
Hey Dave and Joel, just wanted to say, I love your videos. I've watched almost every build and tour all the way through. You have a keen eye for static item placement and staying lore friendly. You're truly creative and really do an awesome job on all of your videos in general. I say this on this video mainly for two reasons, this was one of my favorite builds, and it was very recently uploaded. Thanks for the videos and stay awesome!
Hey Joel, would you happen to know what kind of PC Dave uses for his builds? He seems to get amazing FPS even while recording. I can hardly get 10 FPS on a good day.
Ok so I've thought about a couple of settlement concepts that'd be cool to see your interpretation of related to the two new workshop dlcs Idea one) a minuteman food processing factory for turning meat, grain, fruit and vegetables grown at places like county crossing into long life field rations for Minutemen patrols that in my mind would spend at least a week at a time in the wilderness without resupply, the rations could also be used for long life emergency rations for Minutemen settlements for incase they come under siege during say winter when crops grow slower Idea two) a top secret Minutemen facility built with vault tech workshop, ideas for what it could do is either a secret military base where officers and soldiers of even higher rank then castles guards are stationed, or a secret research facility continuing some of the research of the institute, say into improved plants, medicine and weapons, with the vault entrance disguised inside a decoy settlement
Wow. Just fantastic as always. And I would totally live there, I'm loyal to General Dave. Right? Please... General? Don't hurt me... But yeah, the editing is beautiful as always. You just keep improving when I didn't even think you had more to improve. I consider my patreon support money well spent ^^
Brotherhood stragglers settlement? After the destruction of the Prydwen and the defeat of Maxson, BoS survivors try to salvage what's left of their ranks and resources in order to escape the Commonwealth/ contact the Citadel/ avenge Maxson.
You can add more settlers over cap with the Automatron quest you get after you finish the dlc story. You get sent to kill a random robot and if you save the random settlers you can send them to any settlement even if it is full and can have as many settlers as you want in any settlement.
Dude I love all of your builds theyre so damn good! I really want you to create a brotherhood embassy somewhere. They know the minutemen are too strong for them since you blew up the prydwen so they try to go the diplomatic route instead. Either that or the remnants of them in a small outpost or something. Would be awesome
For a future settlement, it could be interesting to see a Mechanist's Lair settlement that has been converted to a sort of gargantuan armory and military preparation area. It would have a hanger with tanks and armored vehicles, an armory containing more weapons than the entire castle, a training area for special forces (which would resemble a section of the wasteland), a shooting range, and a supermax cell block for General Dave's enemies.
I'd much rather live at the Castle. At least I know I'm safe there. And I could become Dave's best friend and help him rebuild America, one propaganda poster at a time. 👍
I think for one of your settlements you should get the "Build your own Vault" mod and make a vault settlement, like General Dave found a Vault somewhere in the Commonwealth and decided to move in.
And the DLC vault of General Dave should have a museum devoted to the Minutemen, a subway system to connect districts of the vault, and overall be more orderly and efficient than any settlement seen thus far. The vault security force should be equipped with full marine armor and standard laser rifles.
I love your building style! IM feeling like we are thinking the same way about settlement building You are my favourite youtuber Dave! Wish that i didn't lived in norway😭
I think Dave's settlements can be split into 2 eras where you can see a drastic difference in building style. There's the Pre-Castle era where Dave tried to stick to base game lore, didn't change the base cell, and tried to make the settlements look like you could actually find them in game. Then there is the Post-Castle era (including the castle) where Dave just goes all out with his creativity. While I do like the Post-Castle style, I also miss the Pre-Castle style.

After comparing the settlements map to the spot marked for the next build, I think his next build is Egret Tours Marina. (I'm talking about his map in the conference room.)
you can tell that lady that took cover from the disabled assaultron at 46:55 is actually a synth, no regular settler could get their hands on an institute rifle
"Join the Brotherhood: We are less fascist than the Minutemen!" some amazing builds... not over the top at all :) in my current minuteman build, I am making it a bit more militaristic, less display to impress the peasants :)
Dave, you should make a build of rebel minutemen that have their own build. Not as dangerous as pleasure Island and more military. Sort of like how good neighbor split off from diamond city or like BoS outcasts. You could even build it at hangman's alley. Maybe those minutemen split offs believe you should just be helping the commonwealth not taking it over. Just an idea.
Lessee...In the hole, owin' Joel...or, a slave, protected by Dave....hmmm...I don't see a lesser of two evils, either way. I think I'd take my chances out in the Wasteland...Thank you very much! :) Cool build man, very nice. Very "Secure", from the looks of it.
Sure it would. He'd just need to put up his mod load order so you'd have everything you need for the save file to work, and there wouldn't be any conflicts between mods. I'd RATHER have him use a cell ripper so you could add each base as a static standalone mod though. That would make it so you wouldn't need all the other mods & load order (iirc that's how those player home mods work). That would also make it so you wouldn't have to give up all your personal game progress and any settlements you've already made that you wouldn't want bulldozed. I really like Dave's builds, but I don't know if I'd be willing to use a game save because I've got a maze/arena at Starlight Drive-in that I spent a LOT of time on and wouldn't want to lose no matter how good his settlement there is.
I think that you need to give some Minutemen the Minutemen Power Armor. That would make them look more of a competitor to all the other Fallout factions.
Dave, are we gonna see a Minutemen Hospital (or maybe Field Hospital) anywhere? I feel like with all the wars of conquest the Minutemen would be hard pressed to keep people in fighting condition, or at least alive
I was thinking that maybe there's always the off chance that there is a thriving settlement that is independent ( not helped by the Minutemen) out there somewhere. Not crazy thuggish like pleasure island, but a thriving city maybe created by a bunch of merchants. Like megaton in fallout 3. I was thinking if you could make it to show how not useless the citizens of the commenwealth are. Like making your own diamond city. You could even make your own faction within your little world of fallout 4.
Channel - I'm pretty sure Sarge got taken out. The smoking wreck in the water at 48:05 is where he was. Either that, or he is the wreck at the entrance to the Castle at 48:16.
Can you make use of the Boston airport or some where else that is your main area for your vertibirds? Like a Massive Hanger that was extremely defended full of stolen Vertibirds.
In his game, Boston Airport is destroyed, mostly. Not the settlement itself, but the entire rest of the area is filled with the wreckage of the Prydwen. It'd be a tiny amount of space for all those vertibirds
What about a Scavenging Prison Camp; prisoners pecking through the wreckage and collecting scrap for shipment for processing by other labor camps and industrial settlements?
+BlazingBarrels12 If all these settlements were cell ripped though, then he could just download the Minutemen/Railroad/Brotherhood vs. Institute ending (www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3511/?), so the airport & Prydwin (sp?) would still exist. The even more fascist Brotherhood would serve as a cautionary foil then; so nobody would get out of line talking about how much of a despot General Dave is if he can just say: "Well, we may be strict here, but at least we're not as bad as the Brotherhood of Steel is." That's how you keep the populace under your thumb - always have at least SOMEBODY out there who's worse than you are. lol
Have you created a settlement at Egret Tours marina? It's one of my favourite places and was curious to see what it would look like done with some Evil Viking detail haha.
My vote is for the Minutemen. But the General had better not turn Tyrant, or he'd get a nice ballistic enema. The General is worthy to lead, so long as he is, indeed, worthy. If he should go the path of the Tyrant, then he is no longer worthy and must be 'put down' for the sake of all. Plush quarters? fine. Best of everything? fine. Tyrant? Get the rope boys, we need a new General! :)
Dave needs to add a sign on one of his settlements that reads: Property of the Minutemen, trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again.
LoL
So just add in a real sign
Lolol I actually own a real life sign that says that.
Joshua Darrow change trespassers to raiders
😂😂
The next movie Joel directs should be about a slightly totalitarian leader developing his empire in a post-apocalyptic world.
true
Lol
we need a department (maybe a settlement) where pre and post war knowledge is preserved in order to educate the next generation
atlas360
And all history would be altered to make the General look perfect!
It would be called the Ministry of Truth!!!
Brotherhood of Steel: *_*Heavy breathing*_*
16:36 - 16:50, careful dave, thats how the old general died.
Ok I dont care what anyone says. I'll choose a Authoritarian overlord with clean water and a bed for me to sleep in over squatting in abandoned ruins at risk of being killed the wasteland's numerous horrors any day.

Could always make one if you find your self making glass things
Could just use an old glass coke bottle.

For a future settlement, it could be interesting to see a Mechanist's Lair settlement that has been converted to a sort of gargantuan armory and military preparation area. And the DLC vault of General Dave should have a museum devoted to the Minutemen, a subway system to connect districts of the vault, and overall be more orderly and efficient than any settlement seen thus far. Replace The doctor with Curie and the guard dog with Dogmeat
You could even make your own faction within your little world of fallout 4.
do you think you'd ever do a build in a mod settlement? like vault 111 or something like that. i'd love to see that.
Do more live builds, i really loved the castle build
Amazing and over the top, as usual. RIP Sarge 2.0 in that final battle. Hopefully you can rebuild him.
Sarge 3.0 for Generalship!
+DippKlippGuy ha
He didn't die
Channel - I'm pretty sure Sarge got taken out. The smoking wreck in the water at 48:05 is where he was. Either that, or he is the wreck at the entrance to the Castle at 48:16.
+Erwiin Robots from Automatron cannot be killed unless specifically told to self destruct. Sarge is okay, one Robot Repair Kit and he'll be fine
That is an amazing minuteman base well down thx for all the idea's
What will be the next build location
Can you make use of the Boston airport or some where else that is your main area for your vertibirds? Like a Massive Hanger that was extremely defended full of stolen Vertibirds.
In his game, Boston Airport is destroyed, mostly. Not the settlement itself, but the entire rest of the area is filled with the wreckage of the Prydwen. It'd be a tiny amount of space for all those vertibirds
Ah sorry,I didn't watch his normal game,
What about a Scavenging Prison Camp; prisoners pecking through the wreckage and collecting scrap for shipment for processing by other labor camps and industrial settlements?
What about a concentration camp? made by Joel of course
The even more fascist Brotherhood would serve as a cautionary foil then; so nobody would get out of line talking about how much of a despot General Dave is if he can just say: "Well, we may be strict here, but at least we're not as bad as the Brotherhood of Steel is." That's how you keep the populace under your thumb - always have at least SOMEBODY out there who's worse than you are. lol
coolest build so far
Have you created a settlement at Egret Tours marina? It's one of my favourite places and was curious to see what it would look like done with some Evil Viking detail haha.
Yes he has, he made a water purification plant I believe
Hey Dave what was the lastest time you stayed up at night to work on your seltments
The guard dog was not smiling he smelled out where a spy was at
My vote is for the Minutemen. :)
You should definitely get the binoculars mod to watch these battles as the general :D
I'm working on my castle and I'm trying to decide if I should make a war/coms room or cafateria
You should really make the mechanists lair into Joel's secret h.q. for his secret plan to overthrow general Dave
