hey general Dave. ive had this idea for awhile and always thought you'd get around for it but wanted to say it just in case. have you considered making the dug out (the house you can buy in diamond city) a little minuteman recruitment center in the heart of diamond city? i imagine in general Dave lore the minutemen have a strong alliance with diamond city and good neighbor so i thought it would make sense. its just a suggestion though, if you already have plans please go ahead, i love your vids. thanks for inspiring me and so many other fallout players
Yeah, I did that in my savegame and it works well especially if you've finished the minutemen questline (you know why if you have) The only problem is that nobody can actually come into your homeplate so there is nobody at my recruitment desk. :(
thanks for taking your castle and turning it into a portable ps4 mod. unfortunately I'm running as a evil raider playthrought and turned it into a monument of my "success "
EvilViking13 you should do a radio settlement in outpost zimoja(however you spell it) and turn it into a main stream radio to reach to far harbor and nuka world (if you do a settlement in there)
Winter has fallen over General Dave's Fallout 4 Minutemen empire and it's finally time for Joel - and you guys - to get the full tour of my Boot Camp at Sunshine Tidings Co-op!
EvilViking13 you should do a factory or manufacturing settlement next. A great way to explain where the Minutemen get all their weapons, uniforms, etc. Love these videos, keep them coming!
Just letting you know general mcgann was not the last general before dave. Sure castle was lost under mcgann but afterwards Becker took over, got killed and the minutemen dissolved shortly after
+ EvilViking13 I'm surprised you haven't done something like get the USS Constitution back in the water and/or recruit the Chinese captain into the Minutemen to build a better world together or something like that...
You and Joel should make a machinima series about a group of minutemen recruits and their adventures at that camp and your other settlements, and beyond!!!
ever since I saw the notification while I was at work I couldn't wait to get off to see it...man i swear this your best one yet...I've been waiting all seven episodes of building for this moment lol...I'm just as shocked as Joel great work man don't stop
awwww it so cool to see someone totally geek out about their settlement and try to make it as lore friendly as possible. Awesome job - I think I might make a boot camp settlement myself!
You know what I've noticed? There is a lot of medicine in your settlements. I know you find it out in the world, but wouldn't the Minutemen have one less weakness if there was a place that manufactured medicine?
I haven't finished the video yet, but I noticed that the drain for the shower in the brig is floating and so is the join or die poster in the entrance courtyard, but this build is bloody fantastic, I try to base a lot of my builds on yours but with my own twist and a few ideas from a few others, keep up the great work man
Dave, you do realize that there's a modification for the alien blaster pistol called the fusion capacitor that allows the ammo for it to be fusion cells, right?
I love going back and watching these old General Dave camp build tours. Its giving me inspiration for my latest playthrough of am Enclave remnant using the Minutemen to get revenge on the Brotherhood and rebuild the Enclave after the events of Fallout 3.
Sorry for being late, but I noticed that the mod Settlement Markers by kitcat81 isn't in your mod list. This mod adds a few new settler action markers, one of which is a firing range marker that allows settlers to stand at a designated marker and fire in the direction of small target that you place down for them. This would go amazingly well with the firing range you built as settlers will actually use it.
I made a boot camp there as well. Used the tent mod and sandbox fortifications mod. Turned it into a realistic bootcamp with an obstacle course and a shooting range. Also included an armory and gunsmith and an HQ tent. Great settlement.
These settlements get better and better. Amazing job dude. Might I suggest having Joel go through the settlement unguided and you show him what he missed at the end or give details during it.
That shooting range, Dave... was the coolest player-made structure I've seen in Fallout 4 yet. Ridiculously creative and realistic. Amazing. Damn good job!
Great video!! My Sunshine Tidings Co-op settlement is a Minuteman stronghold/outpost that is a farm that in theory could support the Minuteman Defense Force for the Commonwealth.
29:45 No no no. It's the *legs* you aim for! That way they can't run and jump at you. They also can't crawl very well... as in at all.... Don't do radiation kids. You'll forget how to crawl.
i've gone through and completed Fallout 4 about 5 times as different "players" one as a raider, scientist, brotherhood initiate. but i've recently decided to take on your style and play as the most prideful general possible and oh my god it's great. i love settlement building but unfortunately i'm on PS4 so i can't do as much as i'd like to but that's neither here nor there. anyways keep up the great work. every time you show a settlement off it blows me away.
I was thinking of turning my sunshine tide co-op into a military artillery fortification and then you build a boot camp and it looks too good, you are a god of Fallout settlement making
Dave, your General's cabin looks like it would fit quite nicely in the North End. Well, minus the fact that it is not a city building. But seriously, the red brick and brown window-panes are architectural staples in the North End of Boston. Good job on keeping the location in mind!
Oh good to see General Dave builds a museum dedicated to his adventure too, as my Institute Leader did the same with one of my rooms in Croup Manor. Every visiting Institute scientist or synth being forced to visit it of course...or else. So I know the feel of keeping X useless item because "It was the first time I did/shot/found X thing" lol.
I think for your next settlement, you should build a Las Vegas like city at starlight drive in, as a way to generate caps for the ever growing minuteman!
+Nikolai Gaming There is already a settlement that generates caps for the Dave's Minuteman Empire, and it is on Joel's Island. Although, the in-game character of Joel sends the caps in an "under the table" method as Joel's in-game character is the head of the Minutemen Secret Police.
your ideas and attention to detail is insane man, with the place anywhere mods im making better settlements, but i overestimated the power of the ps4 and crashed my game before i was even halfway finished with red rocket!! fml i need a pc
I really like these very elaborate settlements, and the immersiveness of the militarised Minutemen. I'm on PS4, so I have more limits to what can be built, so I'm mostly watching for the entertainment value, but it's great. A thing I did in my "100% Minutemen" playthrough was that in every settlement that wasn't a garrison (i.e. most of them, I had only a few large bases) I selected one settler to be the local MM liaison. That settler would be the official contact, and would be given a light leather chest armour with the Boiled material, and a laser pistol as a "token of office". Boiled leather makes the gear look blue, close enough to the colour of the flag to work. Later I switched to the MM paint job from the store, since I picked it up for free. In my headcanon, those liaison officers are responsible for keeping in contact with the MM forces, report any dangers or incidents, and coordinate with the nearest garrison or recruitment office. They also help distribute any material support from the Minutemen if needed.
I built a small shooting range in my Castle, but never a full boot camp. I did build an experimental farm at Sunshine Tidings, where they develop better farming techniques, and a research facility at Somerville Place where some of the evacuated Institute scientists are helping to reverse some of the damage the Institute has caused over the years.
This is great! I've wanted to build a Minutemen boot camp for while and I'm in the process of building one on Spectacle Island. I have some of the same things, like the shooting range and obstacle course, but this has given me some cool ideas.
Amazing build as always, Viking! Defiantly worth the wait. If you are still wondering what to build next... perhaps the Minutemen have special forces? Where would they sleep, train and operate from? Just food for your creative thoughts.
Great video as always, keep up the good work. That being said, I do have two suggestions that you may enjoy exploring. 1. I was expecting there to be a designated bugle player to play the reveille over loud speakers in the morning which I figured would be outside and in all buildings. 2. You made a point about how new recruits could lose a leg and that go me thinking, is there some sort of VA for veteran minutemen so they can receive benefits, back pay, etc. Just a thought.
Bunker Hill would be an absolutely AMAZING place for you to do a build. I would love to see what you did there maybe make it into the Minuteman deployment station where your main force is held and dispatched from.
Great Build ! But I would love too see some Braman travelling around with some of your statues on there backs. I'm pretty sure you would have them if "someone" made that a mod . Am I right ?
Man I wish this was an online multiplayer. I can see this being sooooo much fun with a roleplaying clan. If there's ever a Fallout online mmorpg, count me in for the Dave's Republic.
Just a FYI you can change the ammo type for the alien blaster to energy cells if you have the right perks at the right rank. ( Not sure if it becomes slightly weaker or not once you change its ammo type. )
Yes! Another fallout video! Hey, this is a random request but I love your content and want to see you grow faster. Maybe playing some other games then the few you play now would be fun! A game I think you might be fun is Osiris New Dawn!
That is definitely a Moose, Elk don't have antlers like that. We have both in my state and they look very different. Just glad you didn't think it was a Bison. :)
You should make a settlement that’s like in the middle of nowhere. Use the Workbench/Workshop Anywhere mod and just build a settlement as far away from a pre-existing settlement as you can (not in the Glowing Sea though) I just want to see how creative one can get in Fo4 settlement building.
another great settlement you should do more settlements at far harbor keep posting more settlements I love to watch these videos and when does Joel's movie come out
Daniel Chaplin aiming to have it out before this year is up. But the movie should be done before summer. Than off to selling it hopefully. Thanks for asking!
I love your vids you are just like myself each things have their place in your story im like that too , i should make a vid of my settlement. still im far from your skill but i found it really inspiring thanks for sharing
you need a: 50ft rappel tower gas chamber. heavy weapons and grenade range. also, i love the kill house. another thing we had was a night shooting with nvgs. also, if i could make a suggestion: a vertibird airfield that holds airborne, air assault and pathfinder courses
For your next settlement it would be cool if you made a ammo factory outpost, so you can supply all your settlements with a fresh supply of ammo all the time and use the contraptions dlc.
You prolly know this Dave but you can do the Rogue Robot radiant quests and gain settlers. If you kill the robots fast enough there will be a live settler near by, you can then send them to any settlement, even full ones. They do not count towards your settlement population cap. I got 50 settlers at Sanctuary this way.
There should be a mod for all Ranger Daves settlements, where instead of begnining as a vault dweller, you could have a new begning, and join the minutmen... RangerDave style.
When my dad was in the army where he was on some of the part of the obstacle course then he felled when 6 ft I think and he broke his knee and he has some advancement to his knee and he still has it to this day
I'd love to see you attempt a non-minuteman related settlement (because, as it is, even your "raider" settlement is a minuteman client). I think it'd be really cool to see you build a settlement sort of like Diamond City, in that it's been set-up before the minutemen were around and successful without them. Plus, that way it gives you an opportunity to build things differently than you tend to, relying on propaganda and minutemen flags for decorations. Maybe you could build Hangman's Alley as a pure raider settlement, or the Airport as a Brotherhood remnant outpost or something like that?
This awesome. I've been waiting for the tour and you didn't disappoint.I'm glad to see that you decided to make them lazy recruits clean the leaves out of their bunkhouse..All Hail General Dave.
Maybe the gunner camp is like a final exam. Before you graduate, your class has to clear it out, and if you fail there's artillery to back you up.
Stephen M. Stouter so the gunners would just keep moving in for no reason?
Radioactive_DUCK Maybe the Gunners are actually prisoners being executed.
This is now official General Dave[TM] Lore
EvilViking13 Question, can you explain General Dave (TM) to me?
Stephen M. Stouter allowing then to die goes against everything it means to be a minuteman
Where does one draw the line between a small volunteer militia and a professional army?

can you link me the mod? that would really come in handy :D
Good job
after seeing the snow mod I really really want a fallout in like Colorado or somewhere in the mountains
Jimmy Savile an actual game
Spice Witch
Play Wasteland 3 when it comes out in 2019. It takes place in the snow, and it's in Colorado! Wasteland is supposedly Fallout's roots.
Spice Witch Well shit 76 is in the mountains and it’s trash
Fallout NV has the Colorado river in it.

LOL! You were right the first time. The painting is of an Alaskan Moose, not an elk! Awesome detail on this settlement! Very creative!

The Minutemen Rebuilding America......... all is lost
hey general Dave. ive had this idea for awhile and always thought you'd get around for it but wanted to say it just in case. have you considered making the dug out (the house you can buy in diamond city) a little minuteman recruitment center in the heart of diamond city? i imagine in general Dave lore the minutemen have a strong alliance with diamond city and good neighbor so i thought it would make sense. its just a suggestion though, if you already have plans please go ahead, i love your vids. thanks for inspiring me and so many other fallout players

Jaffa Man Mods can fix that
DrDeathGaming genius
justin forshaw that is actually an outstanding idea
The Dugout is an inn. The buyable property is Home Plate.
Whenever I see one of General Dave's settlements my snake gets really sneaky.
thanks for taking your castle and turning it into a portable ps4 mod. unfortunately I'm running as a evil raider playthrought and turned it into a monument of my "success "
That sounds awesome, post pics!
what's this is your castle settlement a mod now is there one for xbox besides playstation 4?
EvilViking13 you should do a radio settlement in outpost zimoja(however you spell it) and turn it into a main stream radio to reach to far harbor and nuka world (if you do a settlement in there)

How about a war torn town with two sides containing different themes appropriate to the faction or a civil war.
General Dave Minuteman Empire attempt to unite a Minuteman splinter faction.
Horse Joel may have twisted this idea
This sounds so cool, but where would he build it?
Jamaica Plains would be a good place. Murkwater could be interesting too with sunken buildings and improvised catwalks.

Beautiful Settlement, General Dave.
Your attention to detail when decoration the interior is truly something to draw inspiration from.

These settlements keep on getting better and better! Great work Dave!
Absolutely love the attention to realism in this! I see a lot of open air beds and rooms in builds which would be so so cold in the dead of winter.
Dave, you do realize that there's a modification for the alien blaster pistol called the fusion capacitor that allows the ammo for it to be fusion cells, right?
Homsar Tech , Omg are u kidding me I sold it cuz I ran out of alien blaster ammo
Sad times 😭
Xpert theif I know this is old but if you’re still playing there is a quest line in Nuka world that gives you another one with a legendary effect.
"Head" is a navy/marine corps thing. "Latrine" is an army thing. I'm saying this for your immersion, of course
I love going back and watching these old General Dave camp build tours. Its giving me inspiration for my latest playthrough of am Enclave remnant using the Minutemen to get revenge on the Brotherhood and rebuild the Enclave after the events of Fallout 3.

This is definately one of my favourites next to spectacle island and the castle. I really want to visit one of these IRL if I could.
With the snow mod on it really reminds me of camp Valley Forge from the American revolution.
