I got my wife a 2023, LX, FWD, 2.5L one for $25,210.00, with 11,000 miles on it (Company car). We're both VERY pleased with it! Getting 28 [average]mpg, city driving; 38 [average]mpg, highway. Great ride!!!
I got this car at $22.9k (United States) in Nov of 2023. It had 17k miles. Gravity grey color LX FWD. It was a couple grand under kelly blue book, but even still, $26k was KBB price at that time which is still a pretty decent price drop from the $29k you mentioned. I put $8,000 down on the car when I got it with a pretty low interest, so I definitely think I got a great deal for what I got and I love the car so far. Had it for around 4 months so far as of typing this. Sometimes its slow at shifting which can be annoying, and i'll manually change gears if needed, but otherwise it's pretty good. Other kia sportage owners reported the same issue. It has great fuel mileage. I enjoy it. Mine has dark tinted windows which is both a blessing and a curse, because at night sometimes I have to roll my windows down in certain areas 😂😂 but I have sensitive eyes, so I appreciate it during the day and it looks nicer with tinted windows. I agree that not having automatic climate control and remote start kinda sucks, but this car is a pretty big step up over the car I had before. Also mine doesn't have heated seats. Maybe in a few years I'll upgrade from my car to a newer sportage (2026 or something) with a higher trim. The trunk space is nice and being able to lay the back seats all the way down is great if I ever wanted to go camping and use my car as a giant tent haha. I couldn't do that with the car I had before. Having wireless android auto is very nice.
Yesterday evening, I saw the new Sportage parked in front of a residential building. Looks great! I have a 2019 Kia Optima LX and I have to say that for a base model, Kia really loaded it up with safety features! Sure, there is an abundance of hard plastic, but nothing feels cheap. I also get blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, LKA and forward collision warning. Very surprised to see newer Kia/Hyundai base trims missing blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors and rear cross traffic alert. For example, K5 shoppers have to move up two trims to the GT Line for those features. The Sportage LX is for the value shopper. It undercuts its rivals by a couple thousand dollars, as some of the hard plastic and missing features aren’t a concern for those who just need a car-prefer it to be new-and like the exterior styling. The higher trims are very competitive and compelling.
I have the 2023 sportage and I feel they make up for the cheapness of it by adding the safety features with automatic breaking if you’re getting too close to a car too fast, lane assist, just monitoring cars in front of you in general and other technical shit I probably don’t pay attention to. It’s nice for the simple consumer that likes brand new shit
Hello! I do like and prefer the actual key, and I do not really like the push button start so I appreciate Kia for offering a twist key ignition aside from push button start
got the LX model and where the front bumper license plate goes its wavy. Not crazy about that. Im going to HAVE to put a license plate there to hide that, people have even asked me if the car had been bumped. Also had that part of the bumper replaced and the new bumper part looks exactly the same. Auto repair guy said the ripples are from where the bumper has clips. With that being said.....love everything else about the car.
I agree that every trim should have a push button ignition. I mean Nissan base model Rogue has a push button, why other brands doesnt do it doesnt make sense to me. Its 2023 and it should be like the backup camera, standard.
I'll take all the safety features switch them to my 95 maxima, and trow away the rest of the stuff that only work to distract the driver. push bottom not for me.and don't get me start with start/stop that only reduces the life of your starter
It’s a decent enough vehicle looks like, but the LX trim comes across extremely chintzy for what you pay - almost like the “old Kia” rather than “new Kia”. Getting the Sportage EX trim solves most of the problems you outlined here - you get soft touch doors (front AND rear), upgraded synthetic leather seats with a power driver’s seat, larger and better looking screens with standard navigation and satellite radio, standard AWD (if it’s the hybrid), a heated steering wheel, additional safety equipment like blind spot detection, remote start… All for just a couple grand more give or take. I honestly don’t know why someone would get the Sportage LX even though it’s perfectly “OK” when the EX trim exists for not much more… Maybe someone who just wants the cheapest car possible and doesn’t care or a rental fleet, because rental buyers also likely won’t care. If this is going to be your personal daily driver, I say it doesn’t hurt to pay up for the few extra niceties in this case that you get on the EX trim. Good review!
I like the redesign of the front and new DRL but I cannot stand the digital gauge cluster, it's same one used in new souls, and Hyundai . I love the analog digital gauge in new seltos so that's what I'm going with
They should have given a standard power driver seat instead of heated seats. Its very difficult for my wife & mom to adjust the seat while they drive my car.
Yup! Might as well get the X trim that gives you the 12.5 inch information display and Digital Touch screen air control , push to start for not so much more
@@MattCC16Gaming or I could just buy some type of cheap soft cushion to put on top of it, then to rather spend thousands on new wheels, when I feel spending that kind of money, shouldn’t have hub caps 😂

Can you expound more about the cheapness of it? Looking to purchase.

Does it feel like a major downgrade when you're going from the 12" infotainment center to the 8" screen?
Yes for sure. I mean that’s if you see their interiors back to back
I recognize you from the other sportage vid but I guess the other creator didn't respond to you

Great review - but I thought you were going for a drive to give us the driving impressions? I like that you reviewed the base model for us.
I did go for a drive. My pov drives are different than my reviews :) I drove the same one
Does power lift gate come with the EX model or do you need to go higher for 2023 Sportage?

It doesn't have a 12.3 inch driver info screen, it is just a 4ish inch central screen with digital instrument clusters like 8th and 9th gen civics.
Is the smart cruise control standard? I see that lx comes with Lane Follow Assist and that means smart cruise control right?
But no steering assist. So the whole package isn’t included
Love the vehicle, really hate how they cheaped out on the screens though, really think it ruins a huge selling point of the vehicle.
I guess don’t get the base model than.. unfortunately gotta pay more

I wonder in the future if base models are gonna look way better compare to now🤔

I want to see a review of the LX not All Wheel Drive version.
lol why does it matter? They are both the same 😂 I think you will be able to tell the difference between the both lol
Have you heard any news on the 2023 Elantra?
Should be the same as the 22
i almost went to this dealer last week!
Led turn signals should be standard by now.
Not for you :)
No push start is at 30 k is wild
just me or the exterior base trim look nicer than the xline
Maybe hahaha
Gdi engine again?
Not me.
Nice thing is, the engine is not a turbo and is both direct AND port injected, keeping the valves clean (no carbon buildup)
Not impressed with base LX for the price.
Absolutely overpriced for these features

Dang even the RAV4 LE has better door panels and all automatic windows
But steel wheels….
