Awesome video! I was a licensed Private Pilot many years ago and miss the adventure! I am thinking of taking microlight flying lessons in the near future! There is a small flying club about 2.5 hours from my home. I am researching costs, requirements and scheduling now.
Thanks for sharing your solo flight with us. It was such a great feeling and reminder of my first time. Safe flying my friend (agree about the music, would be better with engine and wind, but stil good)
A Canon shooter flying XT-912. Awesome - like me. I got my cert in January and the journey continues. Have you bought or planning to get a trike soon? I got mine in Sept'12. I'm in Hervey Bay, Qld. I'll be looking for your vids. Cheers.
I wanna use one of these to fly from one place to another. like a 200 mile trip. I wonder if I carried extra gas and plotted out landing spots and a route if I could do it.
Chris, this video will be a huge help and inspiration to a LOT of individuals. If you wouldn't mind, please tell us what your financial investment in this endeavor has been been leading up to your first solo flight. Great vid - thank you sir!
It's all in the landing. Unfortunately you left the wing in its natural position on the final approach. This way simplifies landing the aircraft, but diminishes the overall quality of the touchdown and fails to demonstrate an attempt to float it with momentum to the ground.
Can i ask when you made this flight were you listening to that music? If not why would you make us listen to it? I didn't finish it cause whats the point without sound. Please stop putting music on these videos there killing it for anyone that wants to hear the engine and the wind.
having a metal control bar so close to the pilots chest does not look very safe on microlights. risk it could get forced into a pilots chest and cause injuries.
Very nice video ! I started this week with the theoretical part of the training, the practice will be in the spring. 🙂
good luck! =)

Real nice, It would be better without the music!
Congrads....
YES.
Well done. I would love to take a flight in one of these.

That sound of the Microlight is music to my ears! I want to fly Solo on a Microlight one day!
So that's how to do it!!!?
Very informative.
I'm goin flyin right now.
hahah yeah ok fair point =P FYI i crashed later so maybe don't follow this lack of information anyway =P
Good work, Chris. I'm here searching for inspiration to do this myself.
Good luck!
So awesome. Congratulations on the first solo. Keep the blue side up and the rubber side down. Blessings.

Darrell Latham me too.
I'm about to purchase an Aerotrike Cobra. Thanks for your inspiring video.
Would you like any of this for a 'video of the week' or anything GoPro?
Good wee film:)
❤❤❤❤❤
No shit. That's amazing
what is Max Altitude Limit & what flight equipments are mounted on it
10,000 ft is safe without oxygen. The world record with oxygen is around 25,000 ft!
Lovely video!
Great video! Really appreciate it!
very cool
Do you do in flight meals?
Great vid and congrats (ehem shame about the music). Food for thought.
I neeeeed one
Great to see you instructing on TH-cam Len. I wouldn't enjoy that runway in a crosswind!
Whaddya think Amy?
Great job pilot! I wish excellent weathers to the flying... ;)
3:30 "You have done well, young padawan."
Great video? Which country was this? I see South African flag on your helmet
Australia. The training pilot was south african
Talk about P factor on takeoff!
It not as bad as it seems - until you crash.
Next emotion is taking the first passenger !
I turned the sound off and played Mendelssohn :)
Awesome.......
WOOOOWW How much is one of those?
01:17 that feeling must have been pretty awesome, good music choice :)
Thanks for sharing your solo flight with us. It was such a great feeling and reminder of my first time. Safe flying my friend

My pleasure! I did actually crash it not long after. lol. Whoops.
From the camera at the top it looks like your in a flying kayak!
A Canon shooter flying XT-912. Awesome - like me. I got my cert in January and the journey continues. Have you bought or planning to get a trike soon? I got mine in Sept'12. I'm in Hervey Bay, Qld.
I'll be looking for your vids.

Well done you
lol sounds like 90s shooter music being played through blown speakers
well done....
And no gloves either! ;)
Well done, had my trial flight and loved it. going back for more soon.
You dont really need gloves in South Africa
***** Ah ok. I mistook it for Natal
I love it, nice landing
wow, great adventure.... I love it.
Thanks! 😃
@@ChrisBrayPhotography I would love to learn that too, but I think that's only possible in the US and not in Corona times.
nice my friend
This will be my next motorbike, only with wings! This is called flying!
Me too I will have one this summer
wonderful video ! thanks..
wow I loved it! whats its fuel efficiency?
Where was this?
Len Miller, a South African instructor now teaching in Australia.
Nice
The loud ass music has to go.
Because music sounds better than the airplane noise. Why do you think everyone has either ear plugs or communication .
love the South African flags!!
I wanna use one of these to fly from one place to another. like a 200 mile trip. I wonder if I carried extra gas and plotted out landing spots and a route if I could do it.
Azure Tides the answer is yes. My trike has a 6 hour range and can easily do 200 mile trips. Trikes have circumnavigated the earth. Google it.
learning to land in the trench of the Death Star! Impressive.
Basically. Crashed there eventually
I am in zimbabwe and want to know generally how safe are these things. especially incase of engine failure and ability to glide or land dead stick
Good
Nice, nice, nice! No more words!
What airspeed do you maintain once you get to altitude?
Around 50-60 mph
Huge P-factor starts at 1:22....
Chris, this video will be a huge help and inspiration to a LOT of individuals. If you wouldn't mind, please tell us what your financial investment in this endeavor has been been leading up to your first solo flight. Great vid - thank you sir!
freakin sweet! I want one, camera and trike
The music
Well done!
Sweet :-)
like to music
Brilliant !
what is the price of trike pilot training ?? and where in Arkansas can this be done??
Whats minimum runway requirement for landing & take-off
skip the music please ,, we want to hear the wind and motor sound ,,,
well done!!!!
whats is wind speed limit for safe flight?
hi South Africa
Awesome Chris ! c'mon, get a hang glider and join us asap !!! ;-)) hehe
😳😳😳😳😳👍👍👍👍👍🤟
Back ground music is way too loud.
It's all in the landing. Unfortunately you left the wing in its natural position on the final approach. This way simplifies landing the aircraft, but diminishes the overall quality of the touchdown and fails to demonstrate an attempt to float it with momentum to the ground.
You're suggesting what, pulling back until just before touchdown?
👍🏻
that fucking music was unnecessary
It is very loud up there. Trust me, you would have been way more annoyed by the sound of wind and moving parts than any background music.
What's with this TH-cam obsession of ruining good videos with crappy music?
You want professional production values? Pay for a ticket.
Can i ask when you made this flight were you listening to that music? If not why would you make us listen to it? I didn't finish it cause whats the point without sound. Please stop putting music on these videos there killing it for anyone that wants to hear the engine and the wind.
I muted it and played the B-17 engine drone video.
I liked the video. Hated the music. Sometimes, less is more...
Music socks.
What the fock?
he flew it straight into the ground no flair at all - keep practicing :)
Landing looks scary compared to being in a Jabiru.
fck that muzak good otherwise
Shit landing, however, I don't expect anything better from a powered approach.
NO...NO....not more bl***y music....arrrrggghhhhh
haha, he was thinking of going with Motorhead, so count your blessings.
Music is not acceptable!
Lose the music.....
having a metal control bar so close to the pilots chest does not look very safe on microlights. risk it could get forced into a pilots chest and cause injuries.
you mean just like a steering wheel? ;-)
If you're heading into the ground at that angle, that's the least of your worries.
Первый полёт самостоятельно, а уже рукой машет в камеру!
Не то слово! Мне вот самостоятельный предстоит тоже после 10 часов обучения.
+deltaangar Маякует- Памперс полон ;) а так тостанова,конечно же
Shut that music off, hurts my head,we want to hear the wind,an the motor .i rate u dislike
