He had the BEST situation ever for a track athlete. From an early age he had two older brothers with tons of world class experience to run with and learn from and was able to train consistently and with long term success in mind.
Yet thousands would waste this. It needs commitment and strong will.
@@janatlmb2770 yeah he had one of the best situations to succeed and had stayed committed and consistent
@@bnsz8704 very true
@@janatlmb2770Yeah, most people would actually fail in that position, with all that pressure of becoming the best in the world already as a kid
What experience do you need in running?
754.10 in the 2 mile is the fastest of all time.
Best track performance all time
Back-to-back sub-4min mile, it's crazy
@@okaydoubleutechnically no. The first mile was just over 4
False
@@HeySavio no it’s true
Lmao that accent was so wild LOLL
lol
As a Norwegian I'll say that accent was pretty good actually
Yes but also pretty accurate😄
Lmao South Park accent
As a Norwegian, no that was not a good accent lol
Thx for that norwegian impression😂😂😂
lol
It’s amazing the razor’s edge that Ingebrigsten and his coaches have walked. Growing up running I have seen examples of kids being coached to run fast from around age 10 and none of them amounted to anything. If these kids managed to not get burned out or over trained they went on to run at major universities in the US, but they were barely on the traveling squads and didn’t really improve upon their teenage times.
He got a 3:43 mile in unoptimal conditions only 8 days after breaking the 2000m world record. And then the very next day he ran a 7:23.6 3000 meters which is the 3rd fastest time ever and only 3s behind world record.
This guy's currently the greatest middle distance runner and maybe in a few year we'll crown him the greatest ever.
Josh Kerr will beat him in the 1500m in Paris
not able to be the greatest at 1500m without the pacers and the track wave lights as the Olympics showed again...
@@dpcater
I'll have you know you already commented on here. My comment is also already a year old.
@@dpcater
What I said at the time was true. There's a lot of great runners in the 1500 right now. It's hard to crown any of them as the greatest right now. Your comment aged like okay wine, not fine wine.
You also need to reflect, on yourself. You don't seem like a very pleasant person to be around. Or are you one of those people who get tribal as hell over sports teams and athletes? Just because you're British doesn't mean you accomplished anything. Remember that and focus on yourself first mate.
@@dpcater
If he keeps it up, he'll be the GOAT by the end of his career.
He’s on his way. Have you noticed that he only been doing the 1500. I wonder if he wants to dedicate himself to breaking a major WR so his name will in stone for at least 20 years if he breaks 3:26 just saying because people keep getting faster little by little
For sure
He already is
😂😂 man Elguerrouj ran more than 30 times under 3’30 and, holds 6 or 7 of the best performances in history and is still the record holder for the 1500, mile and 2000 m. Jacob is great but is really far from being as great as Hicham El Guerrouj
Dude is slower than Kiprop and they are calling him the GOAT already 😂
Legend
Trying to out-do his older brothers… It all makes sense now!
El G would be feeling the heat... No one has come close enough to beat his mile and 1500 record for 2 decades. This guy looks like the real deal
That’s because nobody outside the U.S. or Britain cares about fast you can run 1609.344 meters.
@@50PullUps Actually they do. The mile and two mile are run in various major international events, just not as often as the 1500. The breaking of the 4 minute mile was a big deal in almost all countries.
@@50PullUpsI guess you could say that, but his 1500m record has also held for the same amount of time
@@why8308That makes the 1500m record even more impressive cuz, it's the distance that is being run more.
No one has come close enough?
Are you nuts?
This dude is 6th at mile list and fourth at the 1500..
This guy is amazing
He really is.
Understatement if the millennium 😂
Cole hocker
Two words. Cole Hocker.
Two words. World Record.

Cole Hocker just smoked him in Paris.
Super super cool
He is truly the greatest of all time runner and that’s a fact Billy!
Norwegians are legit in endurance sport
Agree.
You should come to Kenya where our olympians come from. The children run like 20km to go to school, and they go home for lunch.... So we will still dominate
@@ianosambo432this guy ain’t been beat by any Kenyans tho. Also Uganda dominates in the marathon more than Kenya right now
@@HulaLogictrue, however, I'm proud of my countrymen. The reason we have fallen behind is due to high levels of corruption in our sports association. Most of our athletes cater for their own transportation and accomodations with the finances aimed to do that instead being used by our politicians and their family/girlfriends. Our top talent compete locally but very few can afford to compete outside.
@@ianosambo432 yeh kenyan athlete do not get good financial backing, which is definitely not helping them. a lot of talent is in that country i dont think anyone would deny that.
Since the retirement of Hicham El Guerrouj in 2004, we have not seen a world class and dominant 1500m runner like this guy.
He has all the potential to break the legendary old 3:26:00 WR.
It’s crazy to think how some people just had documentaries made about them for years. First Kanye literally had a cameraman since before his first album and now Jakob
Easy to be obsessed with him because he is the greatest mid distance runner in the world and in my opinion will go down as the goat 🐐
There’s a thing with a lot of athletes who are the youngest brother, jon jones, the mma goat, is the youngest brother of 3, the other 2, the oldest being a nfl vet who’s won a Super Bowl, and the middle brother is one of the best defensive linemen in the last decade.
So much talent in that family
I am training my 7 years old kid to be 1500 m champion here in Canada . I am hoping he will beat the Moroccan world record one day where i am from originally .
Threshold. Boring but working.
So will this be your dream or your kids dream. Sounds like you want to live vicariously through your child.
Why not let them enjoy being a kid, show them literature, make them love learning instead of forcing them on a track destined to run ovals never being allowed to explore their own curiosities.
Good luck. 1 in 10 million chance. Way to put pressure on the kid
@@burr69EXACTLY. The kid will end up hating you
Proud Norwegian here. Documentary cancelled because of controversy regarding his father, Gert.
As a 15yrs old I can confirm going sub 4 in a mile as absolutely Flippin insane
Middle distance GOAT
Best doper for sure!!!
Wow amazing!!!
He said in an interview that he aims to break every world record from 1500m to the marathon including 3k steeples 😳
He's run many European records from 1500m to 5000m already and on most top 5 all time lists! Double world champ over 5k and Olympic champ in 1500m!
He's an animal!
And has been beaten, soundly, by two different Brits in successive world champs. Only they don't have a cute sibling backstory. He's been found out. In Paris he will take bronze, cause the gold and probably silver are going to GB.
Soon to be ex Olympic champ. While all the world was looking at this guy the Brits were quietly going about their plan of destroying him. So far so good.
The Kenyans are drinking tea and waiting for him. 😊
Love the accent imitation lol that was perfect
Where can I find the reality show?
Now he is hunting 8 records. Even marathon.
He should train in Ethiopia or Kenya to expedite his talent
Propably winning 5000m in 2028. That would take him to Goat level
What a great story

@@nb2078 still waiting since 98
Jared Maxwell from Holly Michigan broke the four minute mile at 15 back in 94
I can't find any record of that. Wikipedia has a lits of all US high school students who have run 4 minute miles, and that name does not appear at all. For that matter, I can't find any records for an athlete called Jared Maxwell.
Of course, it's always possible that somebody of that name ran a sub-4 minute road mile, but those don't count as there are too many variables, like tail winds and, most importantly, if it's a downhill course. The fastest ever recorded mile run was by Craig Wheeler, in 1993 at 3:24, which is 9 seconds inside the official IAAF world record time of 3:43.13. Craig Wheeler (from Manchester, England) was just 16 at the time, but as the course dropped 400 feet over the distance it does not, of course, count.
@@TheEulerID well I still have it on old vhs tapes from hs track days.
@@jaychatfield9937 Clearly it was not ratified as it appears nowhere in IAAF records.
Is the best right now despite losing the worlds
Olympic champ and could repeat again! Hicham lost 2 of 3 Olympics anddddddd…. He is still the 1500m goat !
He is great , the best in the world right now and with margin for improvement, but he is still behind the greatests of all time Hicham El Guerrouj and Daniel Komen. 3:26:00 in 1500m and 7:20:67 in 3000m are very hard to beat, way more than people think.
To be honest, I hope to be wrong, but I seriously doubt he manages to break these 2 records.
Highly doubt he will take the 1500 but 3k? Hes RIGHT there. 7.54 2mile
@@bigt-bt1br I don't think so, he will need perfect pace making from the best 800m runners, a very good day in terms of weather conditions, and a top day in terms of physical condition as well as a bit of luck.
I am not saying he is not capable of breaking them. I am just saying that those to records are very hard to break and the only way to do it t is by the very best in the perfect day with some luck. That's why they have stood for almost 30years.
@@jammesvqk857 i dont disagree. Top tier WRs. If healthy, Jakob will take el Gs 2k, komens 3k and cheptegeis 5k. U will see, like the rest of us🫡

Two Scots from the same club in Edinburgh kicked his butt in the last 2 world championships.

There is one GOAT of the 1500m, and his name is not Jakob, it’s Hicham El Guerrouj, Jakob is a rising beast, for him to be the GOAT, he needs to break Hicham El Guerrouj’s record. period.

Not bad
Wtf he say a mile in 3:56?! At 14?? How!
Legend that’s how’s
He ran a 3:58 mile at 16 years old to become the youngest person to run under 4 min
And he ran the two miles in under 8 minutes, so back-to-back sub 4 mile, which is a world record
He's just extreme.
He won both 1500 and 5000 meter in the European Championship in Berlin 2018, when he was just 17 year old.
There is not often a 17 year old manage to qualify to come to the European Championship at all, but then win in tho distances.
Some weeks ago he crushed the 26 year 2 mile world record, 4.5 second before the old record, and passed 3000 meter just a second after the 3000WR as well, both records was Daniel Koman who had, still have the 3000WR, but I have said it for years, that he will set World Record on the 3000 meter, and my friends and other say no never.
Well I guess they have other thoughts today.
Besides, just a week ago he ran a 1500 meter on 3.27.95, that is European Record, and the 6 best 1500 personal best ever!
Ian sure he also will set World Record on 5000 meter as well.
@@evandonahue5456 Actually, Cameron Myers from Australia is the youngest person to break 4 min in the mile.
