From what i know, this solo is not jun's official debut but is just something he actually wanted to do. He has been constantly releasing at least one song through the years and currently (i think) he has 3 music videos for silent boarding gate, limbo, and now psycho

Although seventeen has been constantly releasing original solo songs, not all are part of their mixtape project T.T.T. Currently, only 4 members are part of the mixtape project with hoshi (spider), woozi (ruby), vernon (black eye), and dino (wait). With the pace they are releasing T.T.T., expect that we will get all 13 mixtapes at least by the year 2032. SO SURVIVE AT ALL COSTS CARATS

I feel like it'll all make sense once the last song drops. I heard it's a trilogy.
My reaction to this song was that it immediately gave me the same vibes as Taemin's 'Advice' and that's a compliment.
I think it's the perfect concept for Jun, his acting is just insane!!

I love 'Psycho', it's unique! I believe you've missed 'limbo' by Jun! Psycho came after Limbo, i think it'll be a trilogy!
I think a lot of what the song is about is freeing people from the idea of what's "normal" and what's considered weird or crazy or being a psycho. I think jun has said sth to this effect but he wants people to reach their own conclusions and this is my interpretation of the video. The red room he's in in the beginning is like the rules of society, where things that are considered bad or crazy are silenced and put away in a box where they can't be heard no matter how much they rage or scream. But jun breaks out of this box and becomes much bigger than it, so later u can see him holding the red cube in his hands and even taking a bite out of it like eve taking a bit out of the apple (the original sin). He talks about how desires are considered sins, and how innocence is taken and assimilated into more of the same - people keeping the rules, mocking the ones who don't and trying to silence them and assimilate them as well. But he is calling these people out and saying, "wake up, we're all freaks, none of us really fit into that box that society wants to put us in. Let's break free and be the "psychos" that we really are."

When Jun did Limbo I did NOT expect that, but Psycho was a bit expected only because he broke that wall for me with Limbo. It is still a lot. It is so different from his ballads and I loooove his song 'silent boarding gate' (also has a MV) so all of this is still new to me from Jun. I sense that most of his solo projects are mainly for the China industry, especially with his cdrama I feel like he is creating a career for himself in China which is why they haven't mentioned a solo mixtape (The Thirteen Tapes) for Jun yet. I love what he is doing tho, the edginess is very unique to him.
I was expecting Jun to release a slower and more mellow song and suddenly he released Limbo. But Jun do really suit dark concept.

Jun said he plans to release three videos, all connected, telling a story. The first was "Limbo" earlier this year. The second (which has flashback scenes to "Limbo", i.e. the broken box/rose at the end, which is straight from "Limbo") is "Psycho". Can't WAIT to see the third song will be.
As others have commented, Jun has released smaller videos (vocals and/or dance) through the years. This year, though, he's gone full-scale production...and we're loving it!
you should definitely watch limbo as well !! psycho kind of follows up to that song. Those two songs are also not part of the mixtape project of the svt members like ruby, spider, black eye and now wait of dino, so this song is definitely his own solo project

Ahhhhh this was so much fun I truly enjoy the way you react and analyse the video and the edits :) Jun has a trilogy planned with this sort of concept starting with Limbo + Psycho + the third part.. this song grew on me so fast I wanted a bit more at the end too.. and as for the solo solo thing I have no idea cause Psycho was pushed as a solo in China bit not really on Korea so I am not sure how to see it.. what I do love is that he is singing only in Chinese and seems to have a very clear vision on mind so I am very excited to see more of him :)
My favorite solo so far is still Ruby but I enjoy them all :)

So Jun is actually a child actor. He recently starred in the drama Exclusive Fairytale which is quite an enjoyable watch, not so great on the quality aspect but it has its charms

OH and if you'd like to see some explanation ig the 17:terview vids would be a good place to start. those are abt the members' solos so woozi, vernon, minghao, jun (limbo & psycho) & now dino have them iirc. I don't rmbr if he's talked/explained the concept anywhere else, there's likely some explanation in Chinese content as well but I'm not sure abt the source aside from weibo/weverse lives unfortunately :(
