Chrollo is one of the smartest, most powerful, clever fighter, leader, and nen user in all of Hunter x Hunter. But even with that he wasn't able to destroy the powers of bungee gum, which has the properties of both rubber and gum.
THIS battle is one of the reasons I don't mind hiatuses. This must have taken a LOT of time to plan out. Facts, I do hope that we won't have to through an almost 4 year hiatus again though. I'm aware Togashi wants to complete a volumes worth of chapters before publishing again which is one of the biggest reasons (alongside his health and the virus) it took so long to get news.
@@dragonsmith9012 Technically true as even according to Togashi post Chairman Election it's him experimenting & trying new things out with the story as the main part's over.
The amount of plot lines happening during the succession arc so good. So many things can go wrong at the right time. I’m so hyped for those next chapters.

@@GuffyZED the manga is only returning for a limited time. Togashi is in pretty bad shape. And honestly we as fans should appreciate all of the greatness we received, and should not expect the series to be finished.
The mechanics of Hisoka's revival astound me to this day. He commanded his nen to artificially pump his heart and lungs after his death to resuscitate him. That alone would not have been successful, but because his will was so strong that his nen persisted after death, it intensified and got strong enough to actually achieve its assigned result. Hisoka died in order to make his nen strong enough to bring him back from the dead. In other words, he cheated death by embracing it.
@@vladokingsley297 A Deus Ex Machina comes out of nowhere with no previous establishment, and the foundation for Hisoka's resurrection, that is, Post-Mortem Nen, had a ton of setup over the course of several years. Post-mortem nen was first mentioned by Phinks at the end of the Yorknew City arc, who cited it as the reason the Spiders couldn't risk going after Kurapika while the latter's Judgment Chain threatened Chrollo's heart. It showed up in actual application at the end of the Chimera Ant Arc during Adult Gon's curb-stomping of Neferpitou, when Pitou's Terpsichora continued to animate their body to fight Gon after they had already been killed in order to prevent Gon from ever being a threat to Meruem. Lastly, post-mortem nen dominated the flow of the entire Hisoka vs. Chrollo fight. Hisoka's self-resurrection was itself a setup for the later payoff of 2nd Prince Camila Hui Gou Rou's own Nen ability. If you think that was a Deus Ex Machina, then you either weren't paying attention or don't really know what that is.
@@vladokingsley297 clearly it isn't, given how it's in there, how its usage has been further built upon, and you're not the writer so you really have no say what goes in Togashi's created verse. I love how Togashi's persepective on fights has evolved since YuYu Hakusho. It was majority 'power level hype' in the 90s, but he has since evolved giving it more complexity and finesse. Super dope to see the character development from him, Big Brain Manga Man
I've read somewhere that the company publishing his manga was the reason why YuYu Hakusho was kind of standard shonen anime. He have some other ideas but the company didn't want him to put much effort into it and forced him to follow the traditional formula for this kind of anime and pressure him to release chapters every week, that's explain the terrible ending of YuYu Hakusho . After that, he made HunterxHunter but he was no longer in that company so he can kind of do what he wants rather what the people around him want. But yeah his style and skill as a writer certainly evolves since then.
This is prime Togashi. Not only the best HxH battle, but the best fight in manga history. The mind games, the intricacies, the details, the brutal nature, the suspense, it has everything. Real thriller, plus the character development they both get. Togashi translated a chess game into a death match. I remember analysing it thoroughly, finding some mistakes just to discover they were not mistakes at all, looking into theories, etc. This fight is a masterpiece.
It’s definitely up there. The thing I love most in HxH is the way fights are played out and how important abilities/restrictions are to them. It truly makes the show unique
even the ant extermination team, you feel the intensity of the situation. Fighting them without a plan is a suicide. The writing process is truly superb
I think the reason why Chrollo gave explanation to Hisoka was to give him a chance to give up the fight because Chrollo knows with the plan he formulated Hisoka was sure a dead meat. Chrollo was showing arrogance in a elegant manner because even if Hisoka knows how all his abilities work, it was still a sure win for him. Machi already warned Hisoka on Greed Island but the jester was sure a stubborn guy.

@@tahurpsych660 right, but this is before factoring in his new post mortem nen. I’d assume with his new powers he’ll be able to stand proud with other extremely strong combatants in the series.
My theory is explaining the abilities to your opponent was the condition he needs to activate Double Face. It makes sense and it would be “annoying” for him - he can bookmark the page, but has to tell everyone what he’s bookedmarked
I doubt that, he did that because in actuality of instead using 2 abilities at the same time, he could use 3 or 4 abilities simultaneously by applying multiple effects to a puppet because of the nature of Sun+Moon's marks. He basically used Order Stamp - Corpse Puppetry, Black Voice - Control Needles, Gallery Fake - Duplication, Sun+Moon - Explosion Reaction Marks that Grant Permanency to all Nen effects. All Chrollo did was run away from the fight and kept his distance with Convert Hands - Change Disguise and just threw innumerable numbers against Hisoka that have the potential to explode then slowly dismantled and wore him down not to mention he practically made anything that Hisoka did useless; turns out Chrollo is a bore.
That was my read as well. I'm guessing he can only bookmark abilities he's told the oponent about. And as we saw, he wasn't interested in actually telling Hisoka his strategy, he only provided the bare minimum of information needed to meet that condition. And Hisoka was weirdly calm as well. I have a feeling he'd be mad at Chrollo for understimating him and explaning his abilities. He must have put it together that explaining the abilities was somehow a requirement for Chrollo.
If they bring the anime back this is going to be one of the best parts that we will go back to TH-cam years later to still watch. Chrollo is built different.
I read their fight not too long ago. And chrollo litterally explained to hisoka all of his abilities, he'll be using to secure his Win. Chrollo gave hisoka a chance to just walk away. But knowing hisoka, it's just not gonna happen.😅
Yep Chrollo giving chance to Hisoka because he already formulated a plan to securely win and kill him. Even Machi already warn Hisoka about this but the jester guy was stubborn.
I just loved how absolutely brutal this fight was. Both Hisoka and Chrollo are "evil" so they really don't care who they kill or how they kill them. Hisoka used bungee gum on several dead bodies to create a giant hammer of corpses!
@tazisdark chrollo has no limits what he would do for the benefit of his group. committing genocide on a whole clan is just another day's work for him lol
Makes sense though since we learned nen through the eyes of newbies with Gon and Killua. As the story progressed, so is our knowledge of nen along with the main characters. Also, I noticed that Leorio and Kurapika's contrast in nen. Kurapika is gambling away his life for nen power while Leorio is leaning more towards his passion as a doctor that he learns nen "clean and natural".
What some people might get confused about is that they think Chrollo wanted to prepare to have a "chance" to Beat Hisoka but the truth was Chrollo wanted a "100%" victory. Huge difference between the two. And Chrollo succeeded as the fight wasn't even close. Chrollo also mentioned that style to him was more important than victory itself so that's why it took him some time to ensure he had all the tools for a very flashy fight. I would say a 100+ horde of bomb zombies sure is very flashy. Chrollo on the ship had no issues going after Hisoka alone to kill him so he definitely knows he can kill him without preparation but its definitely not going to be a 100% chance this time around. Bandits secret is an incredible ability Chrollo probably already has set up the abilities he will use to take him down once he sees him. Cant wait to see what happens with hisoka and the troupe
But anyone has a chance tokill hisoka, and one year preparation, chrollo is smart and tactical, but hisoka was very strong, stronge than him, or chrollo dint need toprepare that much. Thats also a way to fight an legit, but hisoka is trongr technically than chrollo evn thre, he just is better at setting traps.

Explaining your nen ability increases its potency as far as I’m concerned. Using the explanation as another “condition” for your hatsu to work better has always made sense to me.
You're confusing JJK with HxH 😂 In HxH it's best if you hide how your abilities work In JJK explaining your cursed technique sets up a binding vow known as "revealing one's hand" which makes your technique stronger
@@marcioamaral7511 I get that, but putting conditions on your hatsu to make it stronger is 100% a thing. Kinda like how Kurapika’s chains are way more powerful when he’s using them on a spider. Why couldn’t the same be applied to putting yourself at a disadvantage by explaining your abilities?
Also, how strong your ability increases its potency depends on what you're going to tell the enemy. Much like Genthru's countdown ability has a way to nullify his hatsu and how simple the instruction is, this increases his hatsu's effectiveness exponentially because of those 2 conditions. I don't think being an Enhancer, and telling your opponent that your punch hits hard, and you must avoid it helps that much with it's potency.
Chorollo had time to prepare, gathered abilities just to beat Hisoka, and even put some serious limitations on himself, because Hisoka is that dangerous
Yep but that doesn't make chrollo "weaker" by default. Chrollo knew his limitations and adapted accordingly which made him stronger in contrast in this case
This fight was awesome. Just an awesome chess match. I remember reading it and once I understood that all of the people were like ammo for Chrollo, the outcome began to feel inevitable. I think what makes this channel so great is Liam, because any TH-camr could talk about HxH, but it’s Liam charisma and entertaining nature that makes it so interesting.
My 2 favorite characters duking it out was incredibly entertaining even though it was a bit complex at first. Hisoka Shenanigans continue to be one of my favorite plots of this series and i really hope he becomes our primary focus after we actually land on the Dark Continent. I am fully expecting both Kurapika and the Troupe to perish in this arc. Hunter x Hunter arcs are a bit hit or miss for me from time to time but Yorknew and the Dark Continent Expedition/Succession War have managed to really hold my interest due to the involvement of the 3 mentioned characters. Definitely my 3 favorites in this show, though Hisoka has to take the Crown. Also i would love the Sui Ishida spinoff to be canon as it presents a really nice backstory for our Morally Questionable Clown.
Just to mention. Hisoka can't regenerate his body. He's using bungee gum to recreate the body parts he's missing (arm/leg). He's basically a walking cripple who's constantly using nen to complete his appearance. That's realistically a handicap.

I think kurapika is done with the Spiders atleast for now, hisoka has chance to kill them while hes busy collecting his peoples eyes and protecting the queen/prince.
I surely beleive the conditions to activate the bookmark it's to explain how everything works, from the book and the bookmark. As to the boookmark, he must explain how the abilities he's goona use work and the opponent must know about them. Maybe that's why when he says it creates a complicated condition, the condition is to monolog his abilities. He cannot use other abilities other than the ones he already explained. I truly beleive that if Hisoka attack straight up, he would have gotten him. We will see in the future if when Chrollo uses bookmark again he starts to monolog again. Edit: He activates skill hunter, uses black voice [antenna] (he lets Hisoka know the name of every ability he used) He explains how bookmark works and asks him if he wants to continue (maybe another condition) He explains proof stamp (one hand ability) and gallery fake. Then he switched to Convert Hands and told him, are you sure you wish to continue? (Another condition)
That makes sense. I wonder if the opponent has to listen to the explanation before Chrollo could use his bookmark, or he could just blurt it out loud without having to care if the opponent is listening.
@@meruemking6942 I went and checked the chapter. He used the bookmark to activate sun and moon, an two-handed ability. He only started using multiple abilities once he explained them. In fact, before the explanation he was using Black Voice, and he had to put the phone away to use Sun and Moon. Something that shouldn't be neccesary if he could already use multiple abilities before the expalanation.
They were on equall grounds. Don't excuse Hisoka lol, if was obvious that he will lose. Hisoka have all time and Chrollo get only a little scratch when Hisoka was completely destroyed. Hisoka never stood a chance in the first place if they meet again Chrollo will beat hell of him, now he's pissed as fuck in their fight he actually was in pretty good mood, he even explain how his abillities work and let Hisoka change to accept that he stood no chance and survive
I think that the Double Face ability’s condition is that Chrollo has to explain his abilities that he uses or abilities that he uses that required both hands, since Skill Hunter requires that Bandit’s Secret be held in one hand
I just noticed something seems like togashi is drawing one page of HxH each day or more like 1 rough sketch of a page. Gonna take quite a bit in that case before we get any HxH chapters. Especially (if I remember right) he said that he'd finish drawing 10 chapters before we start getting them. So would take 200days+
Assuming he has a newly appointed artist to do the real drawings, it probably won't take THAT long. Probably just about a month (maybe less) before we start seeing the chapters released weekly again. As for what happens after they are.... _welp its hiatus time again bois_

it checks out tho, shalnark said suffocation was hisoka's cause of death. hisoka basically just did cpr on himself, i dont get why thats so hard for fans to understand lol
I want to know how exactly Hisoka’s nen after death differs from the normal nen after death buff. All the times we have seen it or heard about it up to this point needed death to be the trigger to carry out the users strong desire at death. With Hisoka, death was the trigger but his effect was bringing himself back to life. So what I’m confused about is if his buff will last indefinitely or is this going to expire once he kills Chrollo and the spiders?
The nen after death buff was just to bring him back to life. After that, his nen is just regular but he still has to maintain it for his prosthetic limbs.
nen after death is simply nen carrying out the will of the user after death. in this case reviving him. nen after death is proven to get stronger and never disappear. You basically need to destroy hisoka the same way it happened to pitou.
@@altumurnemtzra2026 If that’s true then wouldn’t that mean Hisoka is now in easily one of the strongest nen users? I can’t wait to see how much stronger he is!
@@mk_-8794 It's not since Pitou's condition was to attack Gon after their death to protect the king. Hisoka's condition was to revive him after his death. The condition doesn't carry out as an infinite loop. If Pitou's corpse would had killed Gon, than the nen after death would had stopped since the condition was fulfilled. You wouldn't see Pitou's corpse running around endlessly till the end of time.
There's been IRL reports of people who came back after being reported dead. They're rare but possible. Someone with Hisoka's skill who is so in tune with such a flexible nen power such as RubberGum. It's not unfeasible that he could manage to command his nen to attempt to resuscitate him.
Just finished reading this fight and wow, best manga fight I’ve seen. Everything Chrollo did made absolute sense within the context of the rules governing his powers, and he exploited those rules exactly the way someone reading the fight would have done. Well done togashi, you’ve raised the bar
Excellent update to what happened with this battle, though you missed the part where Shalnark, Kortopi and Machi were helping Crollo in this fight. Making it a 4v1. Shalnark has never needed to talk into his nen phone to activate the ability. Watch when he uses it on the gangsters in York new and you what I mean. Notice the panel with the hand on the phone controlling it, we never see who is controlling it. Chrollo was giving orders to Shalnark. Kortopi was helping Crollo make extra copies of the puppets. Because by Hisoka's estimate he could at max make 20 to 30 alone. But if Hisoka was distracted with fighting and chasing Chrollo and he returned gallery fake back to Kortopi... Then it makes sense why there was over 200 copy puppets. Chrollo made a comment about a puppet needing it's head to be seperated from its body to be considered destroyed. Kortopi who had the ability to mass produce copy puppets, had his head removed from his body. Shalnark who has the ability to manipulate humans, is made to look like a manipulated puppet on the swing. The scene right after the battle begins, Hisoka sees the human corpse that was being manipulated by Chrollo and realizes the antenna is gone. Hisoka made a comment about fishing line. The only one in the spider's with skills with strings is Machi. No doubt hiding it with her "In". Shalnark was also responsible for Hisoka's left hand being blown up. He controlled a human with black voice to do it. We know Shalnark uses his phone to give people instructions to his target by using the buttons on his phone to give instructions. He has never used his voice to control a target before. Chrollo was giving Shalnark instructions over the phone. Notice in the panel we only see the hand holding the phone and pressing the buttons. It also does not help that Chrollo was literally stalling the entire fight. Giving ample time for his team to 'setup' his win condition. In one scene he uses both the book and bookmark to cancel the copy puppet from attacking for the fake Chrollo. Who has no fighting ability just to escape from Hisoka. He was using convert hands and black voice to create a fake of himself to deceive Hisoka. Shalnark manipulated chrollo's fake to buy some time. While the real Chrollo keeps his convert hands in a bookmark to keep his abilities going. While Kortopi is making copies, Chrollo can use order stamp on the copy puppets. If Kortopi was using gallery fake from the start of the battle, then Chrollo had plenty of time to press order stamp and sun and moon on the copy puppets even of it's not shown. But implied. Also the main thing that gave the plan away in the end. Kortopi, Shalnark and Machi confirmed Hisoka's death. Also the look on Hisoka's face when Machi warned him about picking his battles better next time. He immediately knew that it was not a one on one battle as he wanted. It was instead a one against four. An his wording to Machi confirmed it when he said he was not going to allow his 'opponents' plural, to get the better of him.
nope, skill hunter steals the ability from the original user, remember the girl from yorknew city. That's why Hisoka was able to kill kortopi and shalnark in a blink
Yeah, this is a little known but old theory that has been supported and discussed on reddit in many variations for years, but no one on YT ever talks about it unfortunately. This channel's HxH vids tend to have the most basic surface level readings, more than most. It sounds like he is just reading a wiki summary with no interesting or unique reflection on the content... and some of what he says makes me wonder if he ever really read it or just skimmed the wiki and hired someone to edit it. Just my subjective 'feeling' not claiming fact, but it doesnt seem like someone with a passion for the material so much as a paycheck to cash. Most this channel's videos feel generic, timed and designed to take advantage of algorithms superbly, but offer no unique or interesting take, no personal philosophical or thematic breakdown, nothing added to the discussion or fandom. Not saying thats bad... but I find it bland and unmemorable. As an example, an 'aleczandxr' video feels like a personal expression that was initiated by passion, one could call it art. Some of his videos could change one's mind about something, give another perspective, and attempts to 'dig deeper', thus has the potential to impact people and be memorable. This video by comparison feels like a forgettable wiki summary for people who dont want to read or think about the content on their own time and wont look into details anyways, for the most casual of fans. However it also draws the attention of a vast and starved fandom who will click it just to show support for anything hxh, no matter how shallow (myself included).
Much of the dialogue on reread fits brilliantly once you look at it in this perspective. At the start of the fight Chrollo tells him outright that fighting as a team is one of the ways to compensate in a battle, hes literally telling him how he will win in the opening spiel, and that part is included, aka hes saying he will fight as a group, and Hisoka as you mentioned seemed to figure out how he was tricked, aka didnt get his 1v1 hence his reaction. Its not just him being a sore loser... its that he was denied the duel he wanted. Also another detail worth noting, the meteor City elder is hidden in the crowd and helping mark the copies Kortopi makes, he is not dead. There is hidden amidst the frantic crowd a person in the same outfit/headwear in one panel. Perhaps it could be coincidence, just a different person from meteor city with similar outfit... tho i find that unlikely, especially as hidden detail, it would be odd for it to be a red herring when so well concealed. This also clears up the plothole created by the common interpretation. The rules of Skill Hunter include a specific condition "The ability will be removed from Skill hunter if the original owner dies" Nen after death is a thing, albeit meant to be rare and requiring abnormal resolve, but that doesnt matter, it has nothing to do with the SPECIFIC conditions Chrollo chose to adhere to for his primary hatsu. It doesnt matter what other rules are, conditions are self imposed and serve to either boost or allow functionality of the hatsu. Even if the Elder died and his nen lasted beyond death, it would have absolutely nothing to do with Chrollo's specific conditions that created Skill Hunter, nen after death or not, the ability WILL BE REMOVED REGARDLESS. Chrollo's claim is a simple deception because Hisoka doesnt know his conditions. Only we as readers get the conditions given to us by Togashi in the manga, and if you think Togashi 'forgot' or made a mistake... fair enough, but that seems far fetched to me considering all the compiled evidence for how this fight played out. Togashi has been pretty consistent, so i believe this is all intentional and there for observant readers to piece together the details.
Hunter hunter was on hiatus for years and this guy has literally been reaching new peaks. These new videos are the best ones yet. Man finally got a camera 🎉
One thing that I’m curious about is with hisokas new upgrades would he be able to completely change his whole appearance with texture surprise. Face clothes and everything. In a crowded ass boat this could prove very useful for picking off the troupe members 1 by 1 without ever really being identified
I mean the Spiders seem to basically be working on the assumption that he can... They're searching for someone his height instead of just searching for HIM. The implication is that he's disguised.
I wonder if the condition attached to order stamp requires chrollo to explain any ability he uses it with to the target and that’s why he told hisoka and entire audience what his abilities were
That felt like the one point Chrollo wasn't fully ready for. But he quickly adapted by looking for the body of the head Hisoka was using as he played defensively.
I know what I said sounds absurd, but the directors of these big fights are a handful of legendary animators who sometimes anticipate their future assignments. 🤔
Really great fight. The only thing I though was dumb is that the audience just stayed and watched the fight while hundreds of them were being killed😂. That was a little too convenient.
Imo the reason this battle was one sided was because half way through the fight Hisoka realizes that this is not that fight he wanted. what he wanted was a more traditional more intimate if you will 1v1 and even though Chrollo was smart enough to not underestimate him but at the same time he didn't take him too seriously thus Hisoka refrain himself from showing his serious nen moves and shift his focus to get out of situation. that is why he started to target troupe members to get him into that serious mindset that he wanted since beginning.
What people that think low of Chrollo for this need to understand is that he much like a dad, looks out for his family first. He is a leader after all, it's important not only that he survives but to get out of this in pristine condition. His interests not even in the slightest moment were shared by Hisoka's self indulgence battle thirst. Yeah his victory backfired but you can't blame it on him, he wouldn't have spared Hisoka if given the chance to kill him a second time right after the duel
Chrollo’s ability is actually more dangerous than you think Like he could just create a clone that can hold his book open for him while he fights thats scary.
I got a theory that to use his new Nen ability (the bookmark that allows him to use two hands), Chrollo has to reveal his nen ability to his opponent. That would explain why he was revealing all that info to Hisoka and why he considers the Nen Restrictions annoying. I think that's at least one of the Restrictions, there might be more
People keep using this fight as evidence that Chrollo is stronger than Hisoka, but they seem to ignore that Chrollo needed a year, to choose the stage, a new hatsu and 5 other stolen hatsu to win. I’m not saying Chrollo is weak, but that’s a lot of prep time to beat someone you’re supposed to be stronger than right? Hisoka would’ve bodied Chrollo without all this prep.
@@yippeekiyay7132 It's not a thing of being fanboy, my favorite character is Chrollo and it's clear that he won the battle even before it started, he is completely broken right now, the fact of being able to use like 4 abilities simultaneously is insane and more if you ad one that has post mortem nen, the only way Hisoka could beat him was receiving a power up himself, and this happens after the battle, not only in the form of post mortem nen, but also his mind changed, he already learn the lesson and lost his arrogance, now he isn't gonna be overconfident and he isn't gonna give advantages and prep time to his enemies, so for me now things are more even
One of the dumber takes in anime fights: "Character prepped, thus he needed to prep". Some characters are irrational and risk dying by entering fights with no prep, while others act like normal human beings and prep to *ensure* victory. Contrarily, winning 0 difficulty with a plan implies you'd still win without one. On multiple occasions Chrollo directly attacked Hisoka with no tricks in CQC. Hisoka would attempt to block, Chrollo would notice, switch his attack midway and completely evaded his guard. Hisoka couldn't react, he was completely physically outclassed.
I honestly think the theory "the spiders were helping chrollo in the fight with hisoka" is true, if you understand this fight and look into the theory you will see that there are tons of evidences that prove the spiders were helping chrollo in the shadow amongst the crowd. There are many things that are not explainable
I bet none of you guys understand the entire fight so you saying i'm salty for hisoka and shit. Just lookt into the theory and read all over again, there are many things that cannot be explained
I feel like it's also implied that Hisoka killed Lestrade to remove her ability from Chrollo's arsenal. It's very convenient that it's revealed upon beginning the search for hisoka, the ability has disappeared. One which would be very useful for chrollo to use in order to find hisoka (particularly if he is indeed disguising himself as illumi as it'd give him away immediately and this is my personal headcanon and I'd bet money on it), and that hisoka has knowledge of. She was also the daughter of a mafia boss, but not threatening herself meaning her death being unrelated seems unlikely.
@@toms__animations200 Yeah it seems to me like the most obvious reason for her death, condisering Hisoka does know about that ability. And it would further support the illumi disguise theory
I think it wasn't mentioned here, but my understanding is that it's not possible for chrollo to "make" that many copies during combat, since he has to use gallery fake, then sun&moon then order stamp, which is quite time consuming especially since he has to swap out book marks. So he and potentially goltopi must have created hundreds of puppets before hand as a preparation.
Chrollo is one of the smartest, most powerful, clever fighter, leader, and nen user in all of Hunter x Hunter. But even with that he wasn't able to destroy the powers of bungee gum, which has the properties of both rubber and gum.

Facts, I do hope that we won't have to through an almost 4 year hiatus again though. I'm aware Togashi wants to complete a volumes worth of chapters before publishing again which is one of the biggest reasons (alongside his health and the virus) it took so long to get news.

Another deus ex machima

Damn the best in manga history?
It’s definitely up there. The thing I love most in HxH is the way fights are played out and how important abilities/restrictions are to them. It truly makes the show unique

Maybe Chrollo explaining his abilities was a new condition required in order to be able to use the bookmark
🎉🎉 good point
My theory is explaining the abilities to your opponent was the condition he needs to activate Double Face. It makes sense and it would be “annoying” for him - he can bookmark the page, but has to tell everyone what he’s bookedmarked
possible
This fight felt like Chrollo's way of saying, "ok fine we can fight but you'll still not be fighting the real ME."
If they bring the anime back this is going to be one of the best parts that we will go back to TH-cam years later to still watch. Chrollo is built different.

I just loved how absolutely brutal this fight was. Both Hisoka and Chrollo are "evil" so they really don't care who they kill or how they kill them. Hisoka used bungee gum on several dead bodies to create a giant hammer of corpses!
@TazIsDark preeeeetty sure Kurapika would have something to say about that 😂
@tazisdark chrollo has no limits what he would do for the benefit of his group. committing genocide on a whole clan is just another day's work for him lol
This gotta be my favorite manga fight ever. I just love it a lot despite the complexity.

Explaining your nen ability increases its potency as far as I’m concerned. Using the explanation as another “condition” for your hatsu to work better has always made sense to me.
Yeah and it’s pretty obvious throughout the series that thats the case
You're confusing JJK with HxH 😂
In HxH it's best if you hide how your abilities work
In JJK explaining your cursed technique sets up a binding vow known as "revealing one's hand" which makes your technique stronger
@@marcioamaral7511 not all the time. Don't tell me you already forgot about Little Flower
This Video has the properties of both *informative* and *fun*
Chorollo had time to prepare, gathered abilities just to beat Hisoka, and even put some serious limitations on himself, because Hisoka is that dangerous

Kurapika won't die, he is one of the 4 maim characters
Pretty sure Togashi at least acknowledged that story btw. Said it was good enough to be canon.
Just to mention. Hisoka can't regenerate his body. He's using bungee gum to recreate the body parts he's missing (arm/leg). He's basically a walking cripple who's constantly using nen to complete his appearance. That's realistically a handicap.

Edit: He activates skill hunter, uses black voice [antenna] (he lets Hisoka know the name of every ability he used)
He explains how bookmark works and asks him if he wants to continue (maybe another condition)
He explains proof stamp (one hand ability) and gallery fake.
Then he switched to Convert Hands and told him, are you sure you wish to continue? (Another condition)
That makes sense. I wonder if the opponent has to listen to the explanation before Chrollo could use his bookmark, or he could just blurt it out loud without having to care if the opponent is listening.
He used the bookmark before explaining anything, that's not a condition
@@meruemking6942 I went and checked the chapter. He used the bookmark to activate sun and moon, an two-handed ability. He only started using multiple abilities once he explained them. In fact, before the explanation he was using Black Voice, and he had to put the phone away to use Sun and Moon. Something that shouldn't be neccesary if he could already use multiple abilities before the expalanation.
The set up for.their fight greatly inspired how the curses captured Gojo well it looks that way.
i’m so hyped for their rematch i mean a one sided match was peak think of all that could happen when they are on equal grounds
BY FAR the best HxH content I could find on TH-cam.
I think that the Double Face ability’s condition is that Chrollo has to explain his abilities that he uses or abilities that he uses that required both hands, since Skill Hunter requires that Bandit’s Secret be held in one hand
I just read this fight again. This was the most marvelous confusing masterpiece fight ever. So simple but complex at the same time.
I just noticed something
seems like togashi is drawing one page of HxH each day
or more like 1 rough sketch of a page.
Gonna take quite a bit in that case before we get any HxH chapters.
Especially (if I remember right) he said that he'd finish drawing 10 chapters before we start getting them.
So would take 200days+
You didn’t notice that. You imagined it. Could be true could be false. You have real idea either way.
Assuming he has a newly appointed artist to do the real drawings, it probably won't take THAT long. Probably just about a month (maybe less) before we start seeing the chapters released weekly again. As for what happens after they are.... _welp its hiatus time again bois_

Yea! My theory is Chrollo cheated with 4v1 when he was climbing to floor master
nope, skill hunter steals the ability from the original user, remember the girl from yorknew city.
The rules of Skill Hunter include a specific condition "The ability will be removed from Skill hunter if the original owner dies"
Nen after death is a thing, albeit meant to be rare and requiring abnormal resolve, but that doesnt matter, it has nothing to do with the SPECIFIC conditions Chrollo chose to adhere to for his primary hatsu.
This is interesting
Hunter hunter was on hiatus for years and this guy has literally been reaching new peaks. These new videos are the best ones yet. Man finally got a camera 🎉

I know what I said sounds absurd, but the directors of these big fights are a handful of legendary animators who sometimes anticipate their future assignments. 🤔
I must say I love hxh and one piece so your channels are like heaven to me thank you for making vids you are truly awesome
Really great fight. The only thing I though was dumb is that the audience just stayed and watched the fight while hundreds of them were being killed😂. That was a little too convenient.
My dude needed everything in the universe to defeat some bubble gum 😂😂
Imo the reason this battle was one sided was because half way through the fight Hisoka realizes that this is not that fight he wanted. what he wanted was a more traditional more intimate if you will 1v1 and even though Chrollo was smart enough to not underestimate him but at the same time he didn't take him too seriously thus Hisoka refrain himself from showing his serious nen moves and shift his focus to get out of situation. that is why he started to target troupe members to get him into that serious mindset that he wanted since beginning.
I just watched your old video breaking down this same battle maybe yesterday or this morning HAHAHA but love your videos so I'll watch this too
One of the best fights in all manga period.
Can you do a series based on Marvel and DC characters and explain what their nen type is based on abilities they have
Chrollo's 'Sun and Moon' ability keeps Hisoka at a distance as to not go deaf hearing that TikTok song.
There is a song like that? It is good?
@@rexgeorgerodriguez7620 it's actually a good song.
I can see hisoka and kurapika teeming up to beat the phantom troupe
An overlooked aspect is that it’s a fight of a Scorpio vs Gemini pretty cool
I feel like hisoka will come back with his own new ability just to kill the spiders one by one.
Chrollo’s ability is actually more dangerous than you think Like he could just create a clone that can hold his book open for him while he fights thats scary.
My bet is on Chrollo to go 2-0 in this duel
one theory for the drawback of chrollos bookmark is that he has to fully explain the abilities he intends to use to his opponents.
Hisoka vs Chrollo feels more like hisoka survival match (Chrollo edition)
Bro the "nah, not doing it" was so golden
I got a theory that to use his new Nen ability (the bookmark that allows him to use two hands), Chrollo has to reveal his nen ability to his opponent. That would explain why he was revealing all that info to Hisoka and why he considers the Nen Restrictions annoying. I think that's at least one of the Restrictions, there might be more
Not a bad guess considering needing to keep his page open was one of his big restrictions and the bookmark negates that.
Damn. Good theory
Hisoka really did go full “strike me down and I will become more powerful” on Chrollo. My man ⭐️>_>💧
what is the digital clown at 00:25 from?
Peidmon from digimon
I specifically bought this one volume over all others PURELY for this fight. So worth
I feel like Chrollo didn’t really need prep time really, he just wanted to humiliate him.
fax
Love the video and keep up the great work Liam
People keep using this fight as evidence that Chrollo is stronger than Hisoka, but they seem to ignore that Chrollo needed a year, to choose the stage, a new hatsu and 5 other stolen hatsu to win.
I’m not saying Chrollo is weak, but that’s a lot of prep time to beat someone you’re supposed to be stronger than right? Hisoka would’ve bodied Chrollo without all this prep.
That's honestly pretty obvious
Just like Batman does it because he knows that his opponents are stronger 🤷🏻♂️
Well chrollo's ability is basically reliant on prep, considering its all about stealing someone else's power
Typical hisoka fanboy this is not dbz. Nen fight is not about who's is strongel physically
I think chrollo’s new nen condition is that he has to tell any abilities he will use in a battle
The fact that Chrollo needed THAT much just to beat Hisoka says a lot.
exactly
Yeah he do it with STYLE .
Only reason it took that long was because chrollo wanted to win with a 100% possiblity not 99% or any of that 100%
Work smarter not harder lol
@@7gamexwhat lol
The day this fight gets animated the internet is going to explode
I have a question for you and it has been on my mind for the longest time. Who do you think is stronger, Kite or hisoka?
Kite
The jokes in this video are hilarious Liam's only getting funnier by the upload 😂😂
I honestly think the theory "the spiders were helping chrollo in the fight with hisoka" is true, if you understand this fight and look into the theory you will see that there are tons of evidences that prove the spiders were helping chrollo in the shadow amongst the crowd. There are many things that are not explainable
Hisoka fan can't take a loss. He got shit on. Get over it.
It is just Hisoka wankers’s theory lmao
Lol the only way they helped him was by lending him their abilities.
I bet none of you guys understand the entire fight so you saying i'm salty for hisoka and shit. Just lookt into the theory and read all over again, there are many things that cannot be explained
@@chrispeacock8085 those theories were debunked along ago, its bs
Can’t wait to see the rematch
!!
@@jayc0720 yeah my phone doesn't like her name and always corrects it to Lestrade because it's an actual name
I always thought she had killed herself, I didn't think she was murdered. Woah
@@toms__animations200 Yeah it seems to me like the most obvious reason for her death, condisering Hisoka does know about that ability.
And it would further support the illumi disguise theory
I love your stuff! Keep the great work up
I think it wasn't mentioned here, but my understanding is that it's not possible for chrollo to "make" that many copies during combat, since he has to use gallery fake, then sun&moon then order stamp, which is quite time consuming especially since he has to swap out book marks.
So he and potentially goltopi must have created hundreds of puppets before hand as a preparation.
first time seeing your face reveal, look just as i expected. love ur vids
I am disturbed on how by Hisoka standards.
He was literally f*cked to death
Also THE NUMBER OF INNUENDOS HERE..........
Lol when Chrollo kicked Hisoka on the face, he was very turned on, I laughed at that panel.
@@rexgeorgerodriguez7620 bro Hisoka literally got an erection in the fight shits wild lmao
LETS GOOOO, ANOTHER GOATED UPLOAD
