I am happy whenever I see somebody on youtube with a good taste in music. Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and Joy Division are my favorite bands. By the way, 'The Witching Hour' by Ladytron is also a masterpiece of an album...

Thanks, those are all great bands. The Witching Hour is one of my favorites of Ladytron, such a great ending song with "All the Way..." Thanks for watching!

Yeah the early WP can be challenging at times, they really started getting great with Standing Up Straight, the first album I bought of theirs. Cheers!

I found a nice surprise for RSD. 4AD released: Spoonfed Hybrid reissue from 1993 and 2nd Lp of demos/Outtakes. When you get a chance give this a listen- sounds great, very 4AD. It's a limited release but there's copies out there. I never heard of them. I saw this in an unboxing and they mentioned it was from 4AD- which got me intrigued. I also got the Sioux's RSD- it's great. I still have my OG press (no gatefold-cheap) I got this when it orig came out (I was 13- I love that I still have all my vinyl from when I was a kid) and last year I found a OG French pressing when I was on vacation in the South of France- gatefold and awesome pics of concert inside, the poster for this reissue was on back cover of OG and french issue. Take Care.

Those copies you have of Nocturne sound really nice. I will check out Spoonfed Hybrid, didn't see it at my store. Thanks for watching!

Yes, i was very surprised when i spotted the Nocturne LP in France last year. I didn't need it as I have mine from when I was a kid, but I had to have it. I find I have several Cocteau Twins pressings of same record as well. I do not do that with a lot of bands but with Siouxsie and Cocteau and Cure I find it easy to have multiple pressings from different countries. The new Nocturne sounds good- I thought orig artwork was better and the France Gatefold artwork from concert blows this reissue cover out of the water. For what it's worth, I love my Cocteau Twins OG pressings, but the recent reissues of Blue Bell Knoll and Four Calendar Cafe sound really great

Like you , I have the DVD 📀 of Nocturne but not the vinyl so It's nice to finally have. Pulled To Bits my favorite track. Also picked up Lost In Translation soundtrack & The Flesheaters terrific A Minute To Prey A Second To Die album with Chris D being backed up by The Blasters & X. Wanted Wall Of Voodoo but it was over 40 Dollars for a 20 minute EP that I have on cd. I watched some of the In Groove livestream & they were busy right up til 5 .. 90 Degrees 🔥

Lost in Translation is great, don't know the Flesheaters that well, but I love X. I passed on some things too, just not worth the higher prices. Seems like all the stores were pretty busy, busier than normal for RSD. I'm glad I waited in line during the chillier early morning hours.

I was surprised at the price of the Wall of Voodoo. What I really like about the CD is the live material from the Whiskey. I very likely was at those recordings. I was disappointed they didn’t include a live disc for RSD. The RSD item that I ordered online is the live Wall of Voodoo. I’m told it sounds great.

    Hey Mike.
Good RSD selection. I would have thought that the David Sylvian/Nine Horses record would be something for you. Maybe you weren't able to find it. There was a big buzz surrounding that release.
Love to see those Stereolab OGs. 30 Dollars is a steal. Love the Air EP too. Slowdive are always worth seeing live.
    Take care / Jacob

Missed out on getting Light & Magic but hoping I'll find a copy eventually. I'd actually love an RSD release of their "Softcore Jukebox" mixtape/DJ set compilation from 2003. It has two of their songs exclusive to the comp, and the rest is a really eclectic and overall excellent mix. I'm sure you already know about it, but for anyone else reading this, used CD copies are cheap and plentiful!

Hi Mike, the queues this year were just crazy. I couldn’t make my mind up about Nocturne as I already have an og, so I didn’t go for that one. I picked up the Peter Murphy live covers album, it’s excellent. There are some great covers especially Pere Ubu’s Final Solution and NIN’s Hurt. Nice Pixies from BBC from Courtney, especially the Kim era, my favourite as well. Really nice Stereolab 12”, I currently loving the Switched On cd boxset. Og Stereolab records excellent. Mike

THe line at my store was pretty long, but I was determined to get Ladytron and Siouxsie. That Switched On boxset is really nice, so many great songs that aren't on any album. I never saw a copy of that Peter Murphy covers album. I remember him doing Final Solution on his first solo album. Nocturne sounds great on this new re-issue!

I have that Ladytron coming from Rough Trade. Was able to score it this morning along with the Fleet Foxes live 3LP RSD release.
I scored the Ramones demo album and Stars’ RSD reissue of The Five Ghosts (with the Seance EP as the D side). Really wanted to get the live Death Cab album but it seems to have been a hot item and is fetching ridiculous prices.
Nice score on the Pixies… considered that one but passed on it

    • @playvinylinthemilkynight
      @playvinylinthemilkynight  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

That Ladytron was a must-have, been wanting it for years on vinyl. I like that Stars album, "We Don't Want Your Body" is a great track. Can't blame you for skipping the Pixies, it seems a little expensive for what you get, not sure I will keep it.

Wow, nice to see some love for French music ;-)
I'm a lucky owner of the first pressing of Margerine Eclipse pressed in dual mono (binaural)
(and also one of the first pressings of Super Electric... that's how I discover the band back in the day)
I have to agree Le Soleil est pres de moi is probably my favorite Air song. There are some amazing live versions on YT.
Their music for The Virgin Suicides was great too.
Marcia Baila is not my favorite Rita Mitsouko song, probably because back in the day we heard it over and over everywhere so it kinda burnt..
I love The No Comprendo album and my favorite from them is "C'est comme ca". That guitar solo....
I will definitely check those Dee Lite releases, I'm a bit of a sucker for MOV releases...
For RSD, I grabbed a couple records Pale Shades of Grey a compilation of obscure psych tracks which is actually pretty good, given the sources the sound is not bad at all and pretty even.
And the album from The Rain Parade, which will go on the turntable soon
Enjoy the Slowdive concert, I wish I could fly down and tag along... We need more artists to come to Reno...
    Cheers

I love The No Comprendo, bought it back when it came out after seeing the video for C'est Comme Ca on Mtv. The guitar solo is amazing. My favorite though on that album is Un Soir Un Chien. The Rain Parade looked like a good pick, didn't have it at my store. Sorry Slowdive isn't playing in Reno. I thought they were going to skip Phoenix too. Cheers!
