Killing Joke is incredible

1 big omission..From the Lion's mouth from The Sound...I don't think the Sound ever got the acclaim they deserve in the UK (let alone the US)...a great album and no forgettable song on it

Killing Joke is my favorite band of all time. I have remastered some of their music videos on my channel. You should check them out. I think you would appreciate them.

Never owned that Minor Threat, but i remember taping 'Cashing in' when John Peel played it in 83? That was such a big song for 12 year old me. Its stuck with me for ever.

Also if your son loves deftones, I can’t recommend the modern band trauma ray strongly enough. Their song lift off sounds just like around the fur era deftones, particularly be quiet and drive.

"Don't Worry" is a Yoko Ono song, so that explains alot. Later replaced by "Big Bird". Aztec Camera "High Land" would have fit in nicely here.

4AD is my favorite record label as well. I think it was actually Brendan Perry of DCD that introduced Xymox to 4AD and then they signed a deal with them...

I'm dubious about extending New Wave into Skylarking. I'm not saying that New Wave stopped by 86 but Skylarking is a very sophisticated album not in the New Wave classic mould.

Saw clips of cigarettes after sex concert and it looked pretty amazing, so lucky you had a chance to see them. I missed The Cure when they came to the Hollywood Bowl, saw so many who went. I was able to see two of my favorite artist this month! Empire of the sun and washed out.

Saw The Cure on the Kiss Me tour in the 80s. Love that Standing On The Beach album!! Great concerts you went to and love the Aimee Mann shirt!

Would have loved to see the Cure, missed the in Montreal. Need me some Cure on Vinyl, hard to find. GBH back in my Skateboard Days 🤘🏼Oh wow you saw the Stones? Amazing. Love Adam and the Ants. Men Without Hats, local Montreal band, singer. Lived a few streets away… Pretenders, Love and Rockets… Was supposed to see Jane’s Addiction opening for Smashing Pumpkins but band member injured himself and they replaced them last minute with I Mother Earth, was amazing… Thanks for this presentation, was great, cheers 🎶✌🏼

Great update! Did/do you play hockey? I think the main reason bands don't play in certain cities is because there isn't a promoter willing to pay for the band, venue, labor, insurance cost, etc., and take the financial risk. Generally speaking, nothing to do with the band. Wow, I was at the Ween show in L5P at The Point!

This is tough, but I think you are right about Beach House, Killing Joke, and Cocteau Twins. Rush is a tough call for me. I never liked I Think I'm Going Bald from Caress of Steel. I think my favourite underrated Rush record is Snakes and Arrows. Intriguing video.

In my opinion the song New Day is as good as the ones from the album. And I was lucky to find a release of the single with a cover. Looking at the releases from Extremities to Pylon, the Absolute Dissent LP is my favorite. Every song brillant. Interesting how different music taste is. Thanks for this video!
