Went there with my family just before COVID hit in Mar ‘19 and it’s a great park. Everything was open. My family laughed at me for saying that TMNT Shell Shock was my favorite but it’s just so unique! Wife got to shop while the kids and I spent all day with rides and mini golf. And the food choices in the mall are really good. If you go, don’t miss out on the rest that Minneapolis and St Paul have to offer. Minnehaha Falls is a great hiking area. St Paul has great museums. And kids will love the Peanuts statues all over downtown St Paul.

The forecast for the MOA today (1/25/22) is a high of +2° and a low tonight of -17°. There is a wind chill advisory stating that the air could feel like it is -35°. That said, many locals just love the MOA as a place to take a nice long walk in the wintertime with the sunshine and real plants and trees. The doors actually open at 6:00 am for people who want to get their walk in before the stores and attractions open. I never went that early, but I loved walking the mall in the morning.
I live around 15 minutes away from the park and I sometimes go with my dad and grandma, you also need to mention some of the other attractions outside of the park, such as the go karts, laser tag/nerf gun arena and the cool VR experience. Great video!
It's the best theme park I've ever been to that has an aquarium underneath it. And yes, the Log Chute is one of the best. I rank it ahead of Dudley Do-Right but just behind Splash Mountain and Timber Mountain.
Rip saw falls is 10x better, maybe I only think that because I’m a local and have been on the log chute hundreds of times, but the thrill is nowhere even close to Dudley do
I went there in 2017 and you are spot on with your review. The people were nice, I paid $22 to get on 3 or 4 roller coasters and I spent 90 min there really enjoying myself. Thanks for making me relive a great experience almost 5 years ago.
I loved it! Far more worth admission than 90% of tiny parks I've been to. The micro coaster designs are also Brilliant, they pack a real punch for how quick they are
I’d definitely recommend going back for the log flume. The fact that it’s indoors is super cool, and it has a unique Paul Bunyan theme that sets it apart from the rest of the park. Its interaction with Orange Streak is unmatched!
omg yes I love that interacts with the Pepsi coaster and that the pepsi coaster goes throughout the entire park 2 of the best rides at NU in Minnesota. love how the log flume also interacts with the food court its awesome. I kinda wish they would change the theme though.
One really interesting thing the MOA log flume does is that they designed the splashdowns in a way where you won't get completely wet - just a fast drop and a nice mist. Which is very important considering you are indoors in the middle of a mall. You definitely wouldn't want to walk around the stores all soggy in the middle of winter.
I went to the Mall of America on my birthday trip back in December. I had the time of my life, it was hella fun, and as a diehard Nickelodeon fan, I adored it! My favorite rides were the Fairly Odd Coaster, Avatar Airbender, Shredder’s Mutant Masher, and Wonder Pets’ Flyboat. I visited from Arizona to Bloomington, MN. It was so worth the wait! The only ride I didn’t get to go on was BrainSurge since it was under maintenance.
Btw, the Flying Dutchman ropes course and zipline is a separate thing you have to pay for too. As a Minnesotan (lived here all my life), I've been to Nickelodeon Universe in MoA at least 3 times. I was born towards the end of that era but I'm sure I went at least once despite having no recollection of it.

If you pay attention you can find home plate and a chair by the log ride where someone hit a homerun in memory of the baseball stadium that used to be there. I'm not sure if Nickelodeon universe kept this.
I’m glad you went, I went during the summer back in 2017 and it was really amazing inside. At first I thought they were gonna have a replica krusty krab restaurant. But this takes me back to the one Kings Dominion.
I’ve also experienced the stares and comments from excessively flipping on Shell Shock. Regardless, it’s a great ride! Wish there were more around the U.S.
I liked this park more than Valleyfair. It was a very rainy day that eventually had tornados nearby, so having an indoor park on a day that was a total washout was great!
As someone who's gone to both parks multiple times, they both have their ups and downs. Valleyfair has a ton more rides but it's outside and Minnesota weather is unpredictable. Nickelodeon Universe is indoors but there's a lot less to do at the park. Personally I prefer Valleyfair, but they're both awesome
@@princessravendiamond4288 Valleyfair has the better coaster collection. Nickelodeon Universe has a nice collection of diverse flat rides, which made me feel like there was more to do there. But, Valleyfair has a nice waterpark, which I did spend some time in. It was a fun 2 days.
Oh man, I don't even remember the last time I actually went to the Waterpark section of Valleyfair. In fact I don't remember if I actually have ever done anything in there other than look around. Pretty cool that it's actually included in the park admission. It's funny because I always thought that it was something you had to pay extra for. Both Valleyfair and Nickelodeon Universe have a good diversity of rides, with Valleyfair obviously having more. I do find it funny that they have close to the same number of coasters (not counting kiddie coasters). Nick has 3 (SpongeBob, Fairy Odd Coaster, and Orange Streak) and Valleyfair has 5 (Steel Vengeance, Wild Thing, High Roller, Renegade, and Excalibur). Nickelodeon Universe may not have any room to expand at this point but surprisingly Valleyfair still has quite a bit of land still available for use. And yet, Cedar Fair still gets rid of rides and replaces them with something not as popular (or in the case of Mild Thing, now Wildcat at Cedar Point, don't get replaced at all)
They moved Steel Vengeance from Cedar Point to Valleyfair!? Wow! You struck gold there! lol. I know what you meant, Steel Venom, but that gave me a good laugh.
The two names are so similar that it's hard to remember that they aren't the exact same name. I mean, you could call them both Steve! I went to Valleyfair this past summer and rode two of the coasters for the first time: Corkscrew and Steel Venom. In fact, Steel Venom ended up being my favorite ride because it caught me off guard when it suddenly did that jolting thing at the top of the straight spike. Four or so years ago I went to Nickelodeon Universe and for the first time rode something that went upside: Bikini Bottom Rock Bottom Plunge or however it's spelled out. Now I know that I'm not so scared of looping coasters!
I spent my first few years growing up in Minnesota and while I don’t remember much I definitely remember the mall and the rides. I was young but the Pepsi orange streak and the kiddie coaster where my favorites. Unfortunately I have only ridden the log flume once and that was years ago but spongbob is fun and so is the half pipe coaster and fairly odd coaster. Honestly atmosphere is some of the best in the world and I can’t wait to come back
Oh did I mention all the cool special events they have? I went on NYE I believe it was 2010 going into 2011 and it was so much fun it was dark at night they had a DJ it was so loud and awesome lights going. on Halloween they do fun stuff like Trick or Treating around the park I have never been but it looks like fun they have a DJ then too.
I was just here with my friends just over a week ago. We just got point passes and did the thrill rides on Friday, however the Log Chute is currently only operating on weekend days, so we came back Saturday just for that and it was totally worth it. Easily my favorite ride in the park and considering the queue for it is always the longest I think it is the main attraction when it is open for sure. I have been to this park about a dozen times in my life and can confirm there is never music playing. Typically on a busy saturday it gets loud enough in the park where it is not needed. My friends flew up from Cincinnati just to come here because the log flume is now operating on the weekend days, and they say it is their favorite mall. Due to the proximity to MSP Int'l airport, and the connection via the Blue Line light rail, if you have a long layover at MSP MOA is a short 10 minute train ride away.
My favorite thing about the park was that when I was in the mall I could use the attractions in the park as landmarks to know where to go to get to the certain shopping places.
Hey! Your review and perspective on this park is spot on! I actually work at the M&Ms store right next to the park. The log flume recently has only been open on “busy” days which from what I’ve heard is mainly due to staffing. As for the park being quiet…I’ve never realized it and now that you mention it I agree lol. I’ve worked in this mall for 5 yrs now and never really noticed it. I can say it’s nice to go on break from work and ride a coaster 😁. Headed towards 200 coasters myself this year. Appreciate your review. P.S. the live trees, etc…I believe there are upwards of 8000 live plants in the park and around the mall. 🌳. AND the mall has been working on the idea of the Water Park of America indoor water park…but slow go with the idea.
I mean Waterpark of America got bought and renamed by Great Wolf Lodge, but I think it'd be cool to bring the name back despite the weird controversy between the two companies back in the day
@@princessravendiamond4288 no. Not the one connected to the hotel. This is a completely different project that would be connected to the mall. Rumor was north parking lot area.
At Nickelodeon Universe I always get stressed, I don’t know why I know the lines can get long while there running two trains on Fairly odd coaster. I have a season pass and go every Monday and Tuesday because its not busy those days, The light makes it feel more comfortable but at night time it feels empty and weird, But It is REALLY A GOOD PARK, The log flume is one of my favorites and The scenery makes me say “The scenery is really nice here” I love it but theres some stress
My family would visit the Mall of America almost yearly when I was young, making the 8 hour drive south from Winnipeg. We rarely took part in the rides at the mall, as we usually would hit up Valley Fair instead, but I have fond memories of the sounds, the smell, and the ambiance of the park, walking through, or having lunch in an upper floor the overlooks the park/sits right next to the log chute. It makes me happy just thinking about it, and even just walking through it is an experience all in itself. It feels crazy that I have such strong happy memories of a park which 90% of my time was spent just walking around, rather than participating in the rides As a dad now, my wife and I are planning on taking our daughter to experience the mall soon, and build her own memories, but this time actually ride the rides!
On the differences between this and American Dream: -It was an expansion at American Dream, at Mall of America it was designed into the mall, because remember, American Dream was built by the Mills Corporation and sat empty for many yesrs until Tripple Five bought it -the pricing scheme is just the mega city that is "The Northeast Corridor" vs not being part of that. That being said, being that it generally is a ghost town when we go there it would make sense to experiment with lower pricing and a price scheme more like Mall of America.
I was just here a couple days ago and in my opinion it’s a great park. The log flume is definitely my favorite ride there and one of the best log flumes out there. It’s got a great collection of rides for such a small space. They also have a fun shooting dark ride called Ghost Blasters. Very reminiscent of Boo Blasters. Overall, good park and great mall as well
As a Midwesterner, I basically grew up with this park been to it multiple times so I call it my true original "Homepark", although I've moved countless times but my parents basically took me and my bro to this part back when it was "Camp Snoopy!" It still holds a very special place in my heart and I hope to go back to it sometime...been a hot minute and I agree with you although I still have yet to experience the NJ version I can completely guarantee you this is a absolute fun amusement park all around! :D☺
I have been to mall of America and Nickelodeon universe I’ll I’ll say, to this day after being to about 15 different parks, it’s my favorite park when not considering roller coasters. I have not been to the one in New Jersey but I think I’m going to within the next 2 years and I have one question. Are parents free to enter if they are just watching their child because my brother is younger than me and when we go he might want to go on those rides but I can say for sure my parents are not paying that fee just to enter. By the way, great video, I agree with your points.
I totally agree about the quiet-ness of the park! I couldn't quite put my finger on it at first. I went to the park a few months ago, and I went alone because my friend I was visiting had to work that day. And yes, even though the park was full of people and vibrant and exciting, it was oddly quiet. Standing in line became a bit awkward because it's so silent standing next to everybody. I guess it's like that all the time. That is one major yet pretty cheap modification they could make... just cover the place in speakers and blast Nickelodeon music all day. But I agree with your review; loved this park!!
I'm just saying as a Minnesotan myself, I love love love the fact that we have the MOA! It's a great place & the theme park is so worth it. I was watching this vid seeing the little clips of that one in New jersey & omg its like night & day! Im telling you... as a person who has been to MOA probably a hundred times give or take its one of my top goto activities for my family when we want to have fun but not have to go on a complete all out vacation to do so. If you're in Minnesota, especially in the metro twin citues area (Minneapolis/st. Paul) I highly recommended it!🙂✌️
As a native Minnesotan I agree about the atmosphere. I do hope they are able to incorporate roller coasters with inversions in the future. I've been going to the park at MoA since it opened as Camp Snoopy. It's been fun seeing it going through its personality changes over the years. Really wish I would have saved pictures over the years because it would have been a good memory now. Too bad I was too young to have thought of that back in the 90s. Happy 30th MoA.
I would expect the price to be higher in NJ. You are in the New York City area, plus they have 2 huge coasters in Sandy's and TMNT ShellRaiser. I do feel it is overpriced because the limit you on the amount of time you can spend in the park, but I went on a slow day, not completely empty but I got plenty of rides on the big 2. Minnesota one feel priced correctly. It doesn't have a must do bucket list coaster but it seems like a good places to go if you are in the area for Renegade
I've been coming here since this was Knott's Camp Snoopy. While I still really miss the Peanuts characters here, I do prefer the Nickelodeon theming more simply because of how more familiar I am with those characters. However after the removal of rides themed to Jimmy Neutron and Danny Phantom, part of me worries that this park is loosing some of the classic Nickelodeon that a lot of people are familiar with.
Honestly I think the theming is kind of outdated at this point. Most of the shows the rides are themed to haven't aired for a long time. I'd like to see some updated theming for the rides
@@princessravendiamond4288 Maybe I am old but I feel the opposite. Aside from Rugrats and Spongebob, most the character themed rides are too "new" for me. They need more stuff for us '90s/early '00s kids 😂
I went yesterday and the Log Chute was up and running and still themed just like I remember from my birthday party there as a kid! That said don't sit in the front seat if you don't want a lap full of water coming out of the rapids section.
This is the first amusement park that I ever went to. As a Millennial Minnesotan it will always be Camp Snoopy to me! When Nickelodeon came in they tore down my favorite ride, Mystery Mine Ride, to build Rock Bottom Plunge. It could be the greatest ride ever but I’d hate it. Nick destroyed my childhood nostalgia to build it!
Camp Snoopy was one of the funnest places to work while going to college. They were really flexible with college students. I don't know what would be like to work for Nickelodeon universe. It was nice that we rotated each hour to a different ride or a different position. The carousel was everyone's least favorite ride to work. The carousel just had so many rules that would cause the right to be stopped such as making everybody wear seatbelt and it also had the annoying music. My favorite ride to work was the log ride.
I went when I was a kid a few times and back again in 2010 and 2011 and I went last year in august. This Nickelodeon Universe is awesome because its bright and vibrant I agree with you the atmosphere is perfect. They will sometimes play music and its always loud with all the rides going and people screaming on them. The log flume is one of the best rides they recently opened it up back again but on limited days due to covid and not having enough staff. I was so sad it was closed when I went last year. I love how big it is and that there is something for everyone and is in the center of the mall. The price is def fair I love that they allow anyone in with or without a wrist band you can freely walk and you can ride rides then go shopping and come back and ride which is what I did. I have never been to the one in NJ but wow yeah that is more expensive and from the videos I have watched on TH-cam it looks depressing like a ghost town, and it sucks they won't let you even walk around unless you have a wrist band that is so stupid. I would love to go visit still because the rides are different and they have dreamworks waterpark which looks small too but its cool that that mall has both a theme park and a water park. Mall of America is def the better Nickelodeon Universe.
Nick U Mall of America is one of my home parks alongside Valleyfair, and even though there are a greater number of bigger indoor theme parks being built now most of them *still* haven't matched ours in terms of quality and atmosphere. It really is the definitive indoor theme park. I was also lucky enough to grow up with the park when it was still Camp Snoopy, and was heartbroken when the Peanuts license was pulled and they spent a few years as the generic "Park at MOA". Though things have really recovered nicely since Nick moved in and Rock Bottom Plunge and Avatar were added. Between the two themes, Nick U has the better rides - while Camp Snoopy had the better atmosphere (hard to beat that old Knott's magic).
While I'm not much of a Nickelodeon fan, Mall of America has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I would definitely ride most of these rides anyway! And, I'm a "shop til I drop" type person! 😄
The zip line and Dutchman’s Deck are great for views. The Log Chute is extremely fun. Shredder and Shell Shock are awesome, I prefer Shredders Mutant Masher. Pepsi Orange Streak is nice, but it could use newer, more comfortable trains, SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge could use new trains, a retrack, or both, Avatar Airbender is fun, and Fairly Odd Coaster is a fun family coaster! Great Park! It’s worth a trip
Great to know I could do this park with my partner who doesn’t ride anything without having to shell out crazy money! Makes Mall of America be on my list
I went there when I was a kid I am going February 27 for my sisters bday and I need to stop looking up mall of American shootings it’s gets me all scared so I have to stop myself from looking that up
Wow, you must be quite young or on the older side then because the show ran from 2001 to 2017. It was a great show that you can actually still see reruns of on Nicktoons. I know that it was my favorite animated show as a kid (early 2000s). Other popular animated Nick shows at the time were Danny Phantom and Jimmy Neutron.

I went when it was Knott’s Camp Snoopy back in the early to mid 2000’s
Fun Fact, Fairly Odd Coaster is a different model from the Half-Pipe, I'm talking about the American Dream Nickelodeon Universe
The near-misses on rides here are awesome!
It’s a great little park. The log flume is pretty cool. It’s shocking how they fit it all in. Definitely worth your time.
❤️❤️❤️
My favorite thing about the park was that when I was in the mall I could use the attractions in the park as landmarks to know where to go to get to the certain shopping places.
Ironically, I find this park so peaceful.
I understand, I was trying to say that I'd enjoy seeing the name used again
@@princessravendiamond4288 haha. Yeah. It would be awesome!
It feels crazy that I have such strong happy memories of a park which 90% of my time was spent just walking around, rather than participating in the rides
As a dad now, my wife and I are planning on taking our daughter to experience the mall soon, and build her own memories, but this time actually ride the rides!
when I was there it had music playing in the background
It was so nice in the winter to get some sunshine at the park
On the differences between this and American Dream:
-It was an expansion at American Dream, at Mall of America it was designed into the mall, because remember, American Dream was built by the Mills Corporation and sat empty for many yesrs until Tripple Five bought it
-the pricing scheme is just the mega city that is "The Northeast Corridor" vs not being part of that.
Overall, good park and great mall as well
We are so happy to hear you had a great visit! ❤️
There is usually pop music playing throughout the park
There must be more Mall Amusement/Theme Parks!
There is one in Quebec City Canada
I totally agree about the quiet-ness of the park! I couldn't quite put my finger on it at first. I went to the park a few months ago, and I went alone because my friend I was visiting had to work that day. And yes, even though the park was full of people and vibrant and exciting, it was oddly quiet. Standing in line became a bit awkward because it's so silent standing next to everybody. I guess it's like that all the time. That is one major yet pretty cheap modification they could make... just cover the place in speakers and blast Nickelodeon music all day. But I agree with your review; loved this park!!
Fly over America is actually my favorite flying theater. I prefer it to both Sorins
Paul) I highly recommended it!🙂✌️
I agree! I was there in 2014 and had a great time.
It looks absolutely awesome! I would love to visit there.
We hope you can visit sometime soon! ❤️
0:11 Are you just referring to mall theme parks, or did you forget to include Advenruredome? I assume the former
Camp Snoopy 4ever!
I worked at the camp Snoopy version of the park for 6 years and years later I got to see the Nickelodeon universe version of the park.
Too bad only one coaster tuber ever reviewed the IX Indoor amusement park. They had one really odd coaster called g-force.
Log chute does open its only open on saturdays and sundays because those are the malls busiest days
You should do a video comparing the 3 indoor malls now that you have visited all three.
0:19 Adventuredome?
While I'm not much of a Nickelodeon fan, Mall of America has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I would definitely ride most of these rides anyway! And, I'm a "shop til I drop" type person! 😄
I'm SOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO NICKELODEON UNIVERSE THIS WEEKEND.
I went here once and thought it had a decent collection of flat rides but not too much else that stood out.
In my opinion the log flume is better than any roller coaster there
I believe the ropes course was closed due to the pandemic!
My favorite was the splat ride and my sisters was the skateboard
How can you not acknowledge the log flume?!? It’s awesome!!!
TOO BAD THE LOG FLUME WASN'T OPEN!
Shredder gave me an extreme headache for the rest of my time in the mall
@@os3c2s15 are you shorter?

1:24 that’s a lot of vibration!
Usually, it’s pretty loud int the MOA, maybe you were early.
Adventuredome is also an indoor theme park.
There’s another Sky Fly at Lost Island!
It’s ok…and I only say that bc the fact that Camp Snoopy isn’t there anymore is so painful lol
Great to know I could do this park with my partner who doesn’t ride anything without having to shell out crazy money! Makes Mall of America be on my list
Yay! We can’t wait for you to visit! 🙌
I WILL BE GOING THERE THIS SUMMER.
Looks fun! I hope to go one day
Great review thank you!
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!
I went there when I was a kid I am going February 27 for my sisters bday and I need to stop looking up mall of American shootings it’s gets me all scared so I have to stop myself from looking that up
I’ve been to Nick universe in NJ twice, would go more if it was not so expensive and not so dead there
The log flume is the best ride here
🙌🙌🙌
You forgot about Ghost Blasters
oh wow my kids would love this! Gotta start saving my money lol
I haven’t been here but I find it dumb that the one here in New Jersey doesn’t allow pay per ride
3:40 a Taylor joke, a good old Taylor joke.
Trying to decide if we just need one day or two days for the park?
one day is plenty!
What's fairly odd about a spinning coaster?
It's called the Fairy Odd Coaster because it's themed after the show Fairy Odd Parents
@@princessravendiamond4288 I never heard of that show.
I live in Bloomington and I go there every month
Im sad when i visited it, the log flume was down!
Unfortunately due to COVID, the Log Chute was closed for a while due to staffing. But it is now currently open on the weekends + we hope to add more days soon! We hope you can stop by for another visit soon! ❤️
NICE!
I live in minnasota so I’ve been there a lot
Gotten all the credits in both 2019 and 2024
I love fairly odd coaster it’s one of my favs
The fly over America is worth it
I telly think this place I cool i wanna visit someday i am not a big thrill person so i agree to the rides and the rides look fun
you mean camp snoopy?
